  1. This is the newest entry in this segment and it’s just a far better auto on looks and intended function. Priced less most likely, more space, and is lesser of or at most equal as ugly to boot.
  2. There is nothing about this crossover that really makes sense to me other than it’s a crossover. Did they really want to throw practicality away so badly that they’d give this thing the same kind of terrible visibility you find in a Camaro? Plus Chevy now has a Lexus predator grille equivalent. Dangerous precedent and it proves that Lexus has found that ugly and poor taste is really what the market looks for these days.... I pray to GOD not to GM to save the Malibu and Cruze. Please don’t let these heathen crossovers destroy the Chevy models I have my faith in....
  3. I see this being overstyled and ugly. Camaro cues on a crossover don’t work for me. Neither do Mustang cues on a future EV. Mazda makes fun to drive and somewhat sporty crossovers. Guess what??? They don’t look anything like the Miata!
  4. I dunno about increased costs. For one it simplifies the hell out of product planning. Yeah you have short turn spike in all the sunk costs associated with developing cars for markets where the crippling tariffs now make them unmarketable. Consumers NEED value but they WANT choice. I’d say something like this might single handedly force automakers to invest even more in America as it’s the large market. Mexico isn’t large. The cars made there are almost always for export! And Canada, heck I’m Canadian - and we really have gotten a great deal, too good of a deal!
  5. But the 2.7L from Ford IS a truck motor!
  6. Look dude it’s flat out ugly to me. Chevy will probably sell loads of these. But they gotta put the 2.7L turbo four in there to get even with the Edge ST.
  7. Hmmm. Well good bye to S90. 25% tariff on A8, S-Class, and 7 Series. the way I see it these luxury products will take a super large hit. Good. I wonder now. Cadillac will have to stop-sale of the plug-in CT6. And Buick Envision toodle-loooo. What else? oh yes, Mexican made Audis, go to hell pls clearly a profit grab nothing else. Damn all these luxury makes that use cheap labour are really gonna take a hit. I think that’s a good thing. Luxury car should mean expensive overpaid labour all the time.

Oh. Well my math is a bit fuzzies, but I still like the idea of a sleeper stealth approach to off-road. Like try super hard to make your vehicle not look off-road capable - but like I get it, bumpers for ex are obvious when they are meant for off-road even when body colour. I thought Trailhawk = best off-road I did not know Overland = luxury + best off-road

I like the Trailhawk. Though for the Grand Cherokee, I would get some Mopar accessories to have body colour grille, mirror caps, a slightly lighter finish on the wheels, and perhaps regular finish tow hooks too. I would get back to chrome window trim, and remove the hood decal. I would keep the "Trailhawk" branding in a very stealth way, like a black sticker decal that you attach to near the black surround of window pillars. For the GC I kinda would want a 'sleeper' Trailhawk look, where the upgrades are masked so it doesn't actually look like you got the Trail hawk. Why? Because I think that like having a sleeper sedan - no one expects your normal looking GC to handle the rough stuff that requires Trailhawk level of equipment, and then...... BAM!!!! SHOW'EM WHOS DA REAL EL GRANDE CHEROKEEE!
  10. Well you know they’ve been saying for a long time that Americans need to consume far less goods and services and save more. Most likely you’ll see Walmart just substituting suppliers from lesser-tarriffed countries. It’s pretty obvious, American standards of living have to be reduced to invest in the future. Probably means less conspicuous consumerism. More saving. More debt repayment. Less cars, less phones, less discretionary spending, hell, even a smaller military. Cut it the discretionary and spend only on the mandatory. And get rid of government programs that produce deadweight losses. Which effectively means dismantling the government’s worst parts and doubling down on infrastructure, education and healthcare. Which won’t happen
  11. Now there’s a cost to long ass complicated and dumb supply lines. another factor is that comparative advantage is really easy to explain when you have simple economies of bread, cheese and tomatoes and your finished product is pizza. I hate how the economists preach free trade when trade with dictators and America has never been free, and both sides mess each other over. China’s 2025 make everything Chinese great again program won’t work unless they relax their rules. I actually applaud Trump admin for doing this, but they have to go after the pass-through countries too. No point in tariffs on China if fake honey is shipped bulked to a port in Malaysia with then a Malay flagged vessel taking the cargo and dumping it on American ports. most importantly it’s become abundantly clear that a large trade deficit is bad. It’s majorly bad. And if the American consumer is trained to buy imports tariffs or subsidies with their deadweight losses are literally the only way to bring the manufacturing or production back and reduce the deficit. I’m not saying jobs though...those are gone forever.
  12. I second that, if I wanted an exotic design in this class it’s the Jaguar F-Pace every time, and that’s also because they have the mid level R-Dynamic with the supercharged V6.
  13. Ohhhhh now how about some name like ‘Dauntless’ as well.
  14. Honestly this is literally a dollars and cents kinda deal. I don’t think they even sell the GS in Japan, and the ES sells way better in China too, who gives a crap about driving there! like really the GS sedan could probably fold because it isn’t a carrier of Lexus prestige anymore. I think it just got lost naturally. Now there’s an F sport ES, the IS is still on an old platform... and the GA-L, like I really do not want to see a 3/4 LS 500 sausage turned into the next GS. the LS is already a tweener in terms of passenger space since that damn racy styling gives it only 97 cu ft. of passenger space compared to 115 in a 7 Series.
  15. Hmmmmm. They could merge the GS and IS and get a tweener sedan, and I'd like them to actually do that, because they don't need 2 sedans whether FWD or RWD that are almost the same length.
  16. I don't see the visibility advantage of higher seating really holding up much longer, as more people move into crossovers and utes, effectively more vehicles are larger and taller blocking the damn view! In a sedan: "I hate all these damn SUVs and bricks goddamn blocking ma viehuh" Trades to a RAM Powerwagon or token MallFinder " Ah, I can see SOOOOO much better" - at the cost of someone else's visibility... jackass"

Saw a bunch of CT6s and like man are they so much more viseble at night compared to really any other luxury car. Cadillac’s vertical fin lighting is a signature that I hope the continue to evolve but keep forever.
  18. I like the side profile quite a bit, it looks a lot more upright, stronger and more commanding.
  19. I absolutely love the greenhouse glass area, and the paint... green, blue, purple, and like hints of grey, whoa...
  20. So when is the magical level 5 autonomous car predicted again? like late 2020s rite? Hmm since this stuff conceivably is software limited at the moment not hardware (Tesla says they can go back and add full autonomy once they get it done if you pay $5000 for sensors that can’t actually do it right now!), could they upgrade super cruise over the air and add more autonomy? I mean could we live in a future where you could mod a car like this a decade down the line so you could add the level 5 like some aftermarket head units, HUD’s. like unplug the old car computer and put in a new one. Car suddenly is smarts. ?
  21. I still can’t believe they thought the 500 would do well. i wonder if the other kind of automotive heresy is possible. We all saw Jaguar and then even Rolls and Bentley start producing ‘high bodied’ cars. what if they just do the reverse for Jeep? Like for the sake of argument, make a sleek Volvo cross country like thing , add more body cladding where appropriate (Trailhawk), make it a lift back, make the 7 slot grille sexy and sleek and then slap a Jeep badge on!
  22. That was a bit cheeky and trolling by me. Yes. Of course Dearborn has made great cars before! and all automakers do have bad periods, we all know unintended acceleration and the massive recalls that Toyota has. Panther cars made for badass cop cars and the Mustang is good, but yeah I just had to find some kind of new dig against them, same with General Moronics. my biggest mistake is that in my view I hold domestic makes to higher standards, because I believe they can be much better if they weren’t so short sighted.
  23. I like this car. It’s got a decent little motor, NO EcoTurbo bull shyte; and finally Toyota has stylistically a vehicle with effort on design even though it’s still more ‘meh’ than the new Focus, incumbent Cruze, Civic hatch and the Elantra GT. And I hope it sells like crazy just to prove that Dearborn when it comes to cars has made forever only retarded decisions.
