  1. So, it turns out that Hitler's "people's car" had a lot to do with a Jewish ex-racing driver. Well. Didn't know any of THAT before. More at the link: http://driving.ca/porsche/auto-news/news/motor-mouth-the-untold-plight-of-porsches-forgotten-founder-adolf-rosenberger
  2. The joys of mall shopping in Edmonton.

And yet we're discussing it here. Yes, the forums died because they were poorly run. They also changed formats like sweat socks, but that's a whole 'nother matter.
  4. I don't change my own oil because my condo board ain't down with that. As far as I can tell it isn't a tricky job though.

"Refugee" was meant to be a joke. Last time I was over at CF it was just Len, Kamikaze and Supremor talking about movie clips.
  6. I have no idea to be honest. I go by the oil life indicator. When it gets down to about 25% oil life left I pull the trigger. I did my first one at 4,000 km (2,500 miles) to get any shavings and other break-in crap out of the system, and I did my most recent one last week. I've done three changes now, and the truck has about 18,000 km on it (11,000 miles).
  7. They had nice things to say about my personal ride: "I then drove a Ram 1500 EcoDiesel Laramie Limited Crew Cab with the 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V-6, rated 240 hp and 420 lb-ft, mated to a ZF eight-speed automatic. That truck pulled an enclosed trailer loaded with 5,800 pounds of rubber mats; in this configuration, the Ram 1500 is rated to tow up to 9,200 pounds. Like my long-term Ram 1500 EcoDiesel that I used to tow a new project car (which you can read about in the long-term Ram 1500 EcoDiesel Verdict review here), this tester had no problem towing a nearly three-ton load." When your half-ton is capable of hauling 9,200 pounds you're probably doing ok.
  8. Sounds like they're as capable as always, though I still don't care much for the new grille on the higher-end stuff. Here's the link: http://www.motortrend.com/news/2016-ram-truck-van-full-line-review/
  9. Above-freezing temperatures in northern Alberta in December? Sure, I'll take that.

He was a mod at CarFanatics back in the day. CarFanatics believed in freer expression than MT, so they refused to address trolling issues in an assertive manner. It ended badly.
  11. If Tesla needs to build infrastructure for their cars then it's just another expense they need to factor in. A seven-seater with a coupe profile pretty much advertises its long-haul aspirations. The Bolt is more configured as an urban people-mover, so less need for fast charging. But between Chevy (and, yes, Nissan) staking out the affordable end and the Gernans making noise up high, Tesla will definitely be feeling the heat.
  12. It can definitely be both of them. But Tesla's entire reason to exist is electric. And they need profits because they ARE burning through cash pretty quickly. To have larger, established automakers introduce serious products into a segment you are going to need sooner or later is an effective power play. by the way it says in that article, photo by brian williams..... does that mean he could say "i was there" You could. And it would be your allotted daily joke

International Scout I believe. Old-school SUV
  14. The selling point is the tech, not the styling. It's a box that runs on electrons. Even the Tesla is a hatchback. If you want a truly good-looking car with electric motors then you're stuck with a used Fisker or an ELR.
  15. The upswept C-pillar on the concept was already done to death.
  16. It's the last sentence that doesn't seem to jive with the rest of the context.

    A CF refugee. Greetings.
  19. Urban Dictionary reference? Seriously? ROFL@straw grasping
  20. I think the reason he's against raising the MSRP is because if you do that with no corresponding lift in the ATP you just lose face.
  21. They claim a 320km range. That's roughly Toronto to Niagara Falls and back on a charge, or more realistically all the 905-region driving per day you can stand.
  22. It takes the bottom end of the market away from Tesla. That's pretty significant.
  23. Probably nothing. But any civilized place will discourage asshats from being asshats. If a troll gets corrected and they have hurt feelings, perhaps the place they're posting is not the place for them.
  24. GM cut way back on their fleet sales and yet had a greater increase in overall sales. That's a big deal.
