Here's How Much the Tesla Model 3 Performance Saves In Fuel Costs Versus a Regular Car
Interesting article on Jalopnik and video from Engineering Explained. Jason Fenske compared his Model 3 with comparable ICE car Giulia Quadrifoglio. Jalopnik "According to Jason’s rough, conservative calculations, not taking into account various possible driving conditions and driving styles, you would save about $1,400 per year driving the Model 3 Performance. The EPA estimates that annual fuel costs would be $550 for the Model 3 Performance and $2,250 for the Giulia Quadrifoglio, which would be a difference of about $1,600 annually."

Polestar 2 Unveiled Ahead of Geneva
From Car and Driver article, somebody FINALLY admits: "Hoping to attract a young, Wi-Fi–seeking demographic, Polestar is trying a new approach to infotainment. The 2 will run Google's Android operating system natively, without access brokered through the Android Auto app. Ingenlath says this will improve both integration and functionality, admitting that tech giants are just better at this kind of thing than auto companies. "Let's stop the bull$h!. We acknowledge that we will always run behind, so we should simply use what is the best system and put it into our car," he says. The Android system will include Google Maps navigation and respond to voice commands."

Peugeot Selected As Brand for PSA's Return to U.S.
I don't know how good Peugeot right now, they never been a great quality cars, but they were never really bad either, considering their market (you can't judge European common cars with US standard). But maybe they are doing something right after all. Opel/Vauxhall under PSA just made a profit after 20 years of losses under GM. So maybe lousy socialist European company knows something General Motors doesn't.

Yes, you are correct, I got confused between the two

Peugeot Selected As Brand for PSA's Return to U.S.
I agree, DS or Citroen has some uniqueness and French quirkiness. Peugeot not so much. I think they choose Renault because of it is alliance and some cross engineering with Nissan. Maybe even Nissan dealers will be selling them.

I really like TourX, probably would consider it as a daily driver if I was on the market. Personally i like it in white, or red or silver.

Tesla Model 3 "Recommended" Rating Rescinded by Consumer Reports
Jeep and Chrysler is consistently rated at the bottom of pretty much ALL the reliability ratings. Does it make excuse for Tesla? No But I would not laugh too hard over Tesla if I owned an FCA product. And I don't think excuse as such my X or Y car never gave any problems work. I am sure plenty of Tesla owners who have no issues either. These are statistical analysis that look at overall product lines.

Tesla Model 3 "Recommended" Rating Rescinded by Consumer Reports
I think you guys put too much fate into a car manufacturer that built only couple prototypes. Let Rivian built few thousands vehicles first and than will see. Musk is crazy but he also the genius and the driving force for innovation in Tesla. Without him Tesla will become just like Apple without Jobs, boring corporation controlled by accountants and lawyers.

Random Thoughts Thread
FYI, Wildwood, NJ is 15 minutes away from Cape May and cheaper to stay than Cape May. That is what we did few times, stayed in WIldwood and spent few days in Cape May.

Random Thoughts Thread
Cape May, NJ is really nice Heard good things about about Ocean City, Maryland My co-worker was in the South Carolina, he liked it too If you decide to go all the way to Florida, I highly recommend Siesta Key. However, Florida in the summer might be too hot and too humid.

DRIVEN: 2019 Chevrolet Blazer LT AWD 3.6
Jeeps are for trails, not track For $92k for Trackhawk you can have Trailhawk for $45 and still have $47k for V8 Mustang or Camaro to use on the track

DRIVEN: 2019 Chevrolet Blazer LT AWD 3.6
I think that green only available on 2019 Trailhawk but it does look amazing. If we didn't need occasionally third row, I think I would convince my wife to go with Grand Cherokee.

DRIVEN: 2019 Chevrolet Blazer LT AWD 3.6
For $52k or so I would take following vehicles over the Blazer (that only few that come to my mind) Jeep Grand Cherokke, Trailhawk with optional HEMI engine 360hp, - $45k Ford Edge ST, 335hp, performance brake package and other options - $48k Acura MDX Sport Hybrid, 321hp - $53k Audi SQ5, 349hp - $52k

DRIVEN: 2019 Chevrolet Blazer LT AWD 3.6
I saw one in person at Philly Auto show. It is definitely not as good looking in person as it is in that picture. And there was at the show a lower trim as well that looked like it came directly from a rental lot. Wasn't wowed by interior either, it is not bad but it didn't look special either. I didn't drive it yet but I think I would take Grand Cherokee over it any time of the day, and I think I would take few other vehicles too before it. It looks sporty but I haven't seen ONE review that said it drives as sporty as it looks. GM could justify the price if it would be a performance crossover but if it drives like Acadia, I would rather have more practical Acadia.

Review: 2018 Kia Stinger GT1 AWD
If I wanted another sport sedan, Stinger would be at the top of my list with not too many other options. I looked at Genesis at the auto show. It looks much better than Stinger outside and inside, but the rear leg room is almost non existent when I adjusted front seat for myself. I was really surprised. Personally, I would go with RWD Stinger, not AWD. However, I have a very long commute and probably will go with two car setup next time: cheap and economical commuter and a sports car that i will keep very long time, most likely the Mustang.

Tesla Cuts Model 3 Price Again
You are correct, the EV right now to be profitable have to be in $70-100k price range. However, initially, cars in general only rich people could afford. Eventually the technology will be cheap enough to realistically to make profit selling electric vehicles in the affordable price range for the common public. If you look at technology in general it has been like that with every new and now common and cheap innovation: microwave, refrigerator, TVs etc.

Amazon and GM in talks to invest in electric pickup truck maker Rivian: sources
Wow, I guess Rivian is more ready for production then I thought. Good to get more players in the field, shame though that GM is investing instead of developing technology. Now waiting for @dfelt and @ocnblu to get into this thread

They should do Blazer electrical, it has the looks, now give it a good electrical powertrain to stand out.

Random Thoughts Thread
Went yesterday to the Philly Auto Show, was pretty decent show, also midweek very few people, good opportunity to see all the cars. Few thoughts: Blazer - in person looks not as good as in pictures. Still a different take at mid size crossover. Looks inside and out different than most vanilla crossovers. I wish it would drive as sporty as it looks. G70 - looks great, interior looks very nice and very driver oriented. However, after I adjusted front seat for my height the back seat had about as much space as a Mustang. Even less than my G37, and I think they are very similar in size. Shame, I think it will hurt it. Just because of that I would got with Stinger even though it is not as nice inside. Miata RF - sat in it and asked the show girl close the roof. I fit well and I am 6'1". Fits like glove, really like it. GT500 - looks awesome, However, I think I prefer GT350. They had Bullitt there as well, and people could sit in it. Looks great, comfortable inside. I am torn between Mustang and Miata, I want them both Jeep Gladiator - actually looks very awkward to me. I didn't like it. Regular Wrangler is great. iPace - it is more of a wagon than a crossover. I was surprised how low is it. Interior is really nice. Looked at few other cars but no special impressions.

Chicago 2019: 2019 Mazda MX-5 Miata 30th Anniversary Edition: Comments
I love the looks, orange is not my color but this one looks great, especially with the black wheels. Anyway, special edition was gone in 4 hours after going on sale. Yesterday was at Philly auto show and sat in the MIata RF. Asked the Mazda show girl (who was gorgeous btw )to close the roof to see if I fit. I fit ok and I am 6'1". New Miata fits like a glove, surprisingly comfortable inside.
