  1. Yeah, but you got to have something to protect your baby.. You don't have to beat your beater-just be its last-and kindest owner.. I don't beat on the wagon.....
  2. Celebritys really kicked butt, especially the ones with the Iron duke. My wife's grandparents had a 84-the only reason it died ( I think) was it sat for a few months while the grandfather was in the hospital. It was closing in on 300k... It was still in pretty good shape too. At least their Sunbird is still going...only thing that will stop that car is rust. And my Cav too.
  3. While working on my Cavalier today, it got me thinking about what my next beater will be. It's always nice to have an extra car when you need it. (or you don't want to drive your nice car in the winter) Even though it could be a few years...I pulled myself a list of cars that I thought would be good for the job. 97+ Buick Century 95-00 Buick Lesabre 92-00 Buick regal I realize that they are all buicks, but they are all good cars, and most of the time are well taken care of... Any cars make a good beater/extra car? It could be for good gas milage, winter beater, or whatever reason...

I'm not so sure Manny is gone yet. There isn't going to be much on the free agent market this year. They do have a few good goalies in the minors, but they won't be playing playoff hockey for a while... I think there will be quite a few new faces next year....

Yep, I still see quite a few 92-00 saturns that are still kicking... A friend of mine has a 92 SC1....sold it with 185k....to his friend...still going at 256k....Still has the original Clutch!

Hmm..that is a good question.... I know there was a few 2.2s out there.. I thought the 2.5 was the iron duke?

I hated to say I was right, but I was. The only way the wings were going to win was if they played just like the Oilers-that every game was their last. You have to give the Oilers credit-they played their hearts out.... It's interesting that quite a few teams are playing just like the Oilers.. The Flames/ Ducks game was quite good last night.... I think the Wings are in for some major changes this coming up this year...

Yes, so far the Eco 2.2 are doing quite good so far...a friend has a 03 Cav sedan (which he uses for work) now has a little over 200k on it now...I think it only needed a fuel pump so far... The old 2.2s were is many different cars, but I've seen lot of success with 91-02 J-body line. It's hard to find a 91-94 Cav or sunbird with it because they are cheap and are very hard to kill... My wife's grandparents have a 91 Sunbird with almost 200k miles on it now..

the 3.1's will last a while too... the 2.2 motor in the J-bodys will last quite a while, and take abuse well...
  10. I hope not...
  11. I'm thinking the same thing as Cam-I wonder how much they want for it? My dad and I would love a project car like that...... If I have to, I'll drive a tow truck there to pick it up.......
  12. I wasn't very impressed with the Passat at all. I thought it came out kinda weak. It would depend on how you like to drive your Impy...I though the SS was crude, but lots of fun to drive. I think you'll like driving the TL..I did.
  13. I can't see the chop!
  14. I do think it is down now.
  15. Yep. Good cars. My neighbor has a 99 with 120k on it...runs smooth even now. 8)
  16. Sorry Josh, can't agree with the Wings.... the Oilers are playing every game like it's their last. Unless the Wings start playing that way, but even smarter, the oilers will take care of business at home...

  18. It's almost crazy how many of those I see with high milage around here..
  19. I just hope the wings can win... the pistons will be fine.... I get the feeling the Oilers are going to kill the Wings at Ed.... The wings looked like lost puppies tonight-very bad sign....
  20. 93 Cavalier RS (wagon) 135,500 miles 04 Cavalier (coupe) 2,200 miles 03 Cavalier (sedan) 25,000 miles (wife's) I still put good miles on the wagon-driving quite a bit after the repairs... The coupe does get driven (current 3rd car) but about 8 months back it hit a major pothole.-took a while to get fixed...
  21. Looks ok...nothing to write home about.... Have to wait for more pics to make up my mind...
  22. Yep, A co-workers daugther was rear ended in her Z24..the Aerostar that hit her was leaking like crazy...just beat her bumper up good...
  23. Yep, they can last a long time...with little or no care. I worked wit a guy who let his sunfire go almost 30k without an oil change. Last I checked it was at 120k... Heck, My Cav wagon is still kicking at 135k.....
  24. Ahh...I don't know about that Croc... They aren't great, but not too bad. Early this year my brother was t-boned by a early 90s f150... Left parts of his 03 cav coupe all over the road... He walked away with a few cuts and bruised ribs..... A guy I want to school with got hit from the rear on the highway, which caused him into get into a NASCAR type accident (flipped it too) He was able to walk away with cuts and a broken finger... THey do take a beating...
