CAR AND DRIVER $15,000 COMPACTS
I don't see what the big deal is about the Fit. I like the Fit, I think it is a pretty good package for the price.( should be a little cheaper, though) I can see why it finished 1st. I've seen the Yaris, and I am not impressed-at all. The Rio doesn't look all that bad-the 5 door is growing on me. The current Aveo is a good car (though better gas milage would be nice) I think the 07 Aveo will be a solid car, right up there with the Fit. It may not be a Fit-beater-but it will be quite close. Since it is going to offer more bang-for-buck, I think the new Aveo will do quite well on its own... My choice-I could go with either a Fit or and Aveo. Or Both.

RENAULT-NISSAN BOSS PREDICTS RECOVERY FOR GM
Yes and no. The product has been getting better for years...yet, the still get kicked down... and GM continues to get better as time goes along. If the K/H family of cars in the 80s and 90s can get forgiveness...so can GM.

Horse$h!. They may have much, but cars like the Enclave and soltice, I simply can't see that happening. Unless GM goes under or falls apart....- RENAULT-NISSAN BOSS PREDICTS RECOVERY FOR GM
Yep. They may trip along the way, but things are going to get better...- AT My Dads Plant
True, but I don't expect GM to do any hiring any time soon.... New equipment is rolling in to some of the plants, So I'm pretty sure there will not a great need for more employees... My dad's plant would be a good example of one of many plants that are being updated....- COBALT SALES DOING GREAT!
Hmm...how about talking to someone who has driven ALL of the compacts, eh? Granted, after driving the Civic, I would have to agree that it is still the leader, no doubt about that. On the other hand, the Cobalt is not that far behind. Those you say that have not driven them back to back. And these weren't top of the line models either. (You know, the cars most people drive) I agree with the O.C, the Civic is more refined, and it does have go.... But driving the Cobalt was more fun, as it handled better... And even after being inside the civic before, I didn't feel the inside of the Cobalt was a major downgrade. They are not really that far apart. It is the little things that the Civic beats it in. Right now, the Cobalt beats the Civic in value, which is important considering the way gas prices are going......- AT My Dads Plant
Yep. Every plant is going to be different. My dad's plant is a good example, as there has not been as many takers yet..- 1998 Saturn SL1
Why so few miles?- AT My Dads Plant
Agreed. Josh, whwn they close a few more plants....problem solved. So far, there have not been as many people taking the buyout...- $3.00/gal. Gas !
I have a feeling it could touch 4.00 by mid summer. But we'll see....- Isn't It Funny
I almost choked on my coke after reading that...- COBALT SALES DOING GREAT!
I think the Cobalt gets refreshened next year...that should help it against the Civic...- Isn't It Funny
Ahh...Agreed. Miss those days...- Two part question

Agreed. You should have some device that makes the other car blow up if it even touches your car...- Vacations
Going to Niagara Falls in Sept... Never been there before...looking foward to it... It will be my 1st vacation in 3 years...- Girls...argg

Ahh..that's what my father-in-law is doing. Light work. When Wixom closes next year, he will have retired, and enjoying working with the Tigers... (he loves sports) My dad also hit 30 this year..but he is more up-in-the air right now.....- COBALT SALES DOING GREAT!
- Dad Is Taking The Buy-Out
Hmm...not sure what my Dad wants to do... He is still thinking about working for a few more years. Josh-did your dad have his 30 in already? It sounds like he has a plan in mind, which is a good thing... I know a few who are taking the buyout, and both have mixed feelings so far... - Auto analyst slams GM to VA dealers
