  1. I was gonna say... it got out. How is that not at least somewhat impressive?

too tall & skinny. Made me think Echo there for a moment. :P Looks ok from the side, couldn't tell about the front.

I agree with many of your points, but you can hardly argue that the M is even in the same ballpark. The cheapest M starts at a hair under $50,000. A V6 Kappa would more likely be in the $30-35,000 range. They hit signifigantly different (though I agree, limited) markets. The competition from Sky, Solstice, and Miata are much more important.
  4. There's quite a bit of cargo space... if you dont' have a passenger. :D
  5. Perhaps our resident photoshop experts should make up some mock removable hardtops for the solstice. :)
  6. Yes, yes they should.
  7. That's what I was thinking too, but I don't know the beamer models well enough to reference. :P
  8. It's part of the optional competition package for the RL.
  9. UGLIEST CONCEPT EVER... (well, maybe - definately ranks up there...) 1981 Ford Pockar
  10. They should make a fastback one...
  11. From the Chrysler folders... 1991 Chrysler 300 1995 Atlantic
  12. Funny how many recent concepts I've forgotten. I've tried to save pix of a lot, and this thread got me going back through them... Some highlights from my Chevy folder... 2000 Chevy Tandem? I don't remember this one at all, and might have it mislabeled... 2000 Chevy Traverse. Now we know where the Malibu Maxx's tail end came from... 2001 Chevy Borrego. I kinda liked this one... 2001 Chevy S5. Looks like the child of a silverado and a tracker. 2001 Chevy Sabia 1965 Mako Shark-II Corvette
  13. I can't decide if it's ugly or cool. I'm leaning toward cool. :) The idea is downright awesome, though!
  14. They have quite a few colors on the Sky site through the Saturn webpage. I think I'd have to either get yellow or white. :)

Not a fan of the new Vue's "angry eyebrows". Why do so many cars have to look mad. It's one thing to look agressive, but some of these vehicles just look like jerks.

    :) It's funny because it's true... lol
  17. I really like the look of the 3-spoke - very modern, but I agree with Josh. I like cruising on the highway with my hand at the 6 o'clock position, and you can't do that. I drove a Purdue Grand Prix with a 3-spoke, and just couldn't relax my hands on the interstate. Great look, poor ergonomics. The 4-spoke at the top of the 3 pix is better looking than the other 4-spoke, IMO, but it does have a '90's look to it, where the other 4-spoke looks more modern. Still, put some nice buttons on the top one and it'd be my top choice.
  18. And to think that the Solstice is already (non-turbo) very competitive with the miata... :D

El Camino... only more truck-looking (though more mechanically car-like than the original, probably. lol) :)

Part of the trouble with using LEDs in automotive use is that they're so directional. You can buy aftermarket LED bulbs that fit in the sockets for regular lights (brake lights, turn signals, etc - no headlights that I know of), but they don't illuminate the light housing properly. A tail light that normally would light up fully instead has a red dot in it. It does give designers more freedom, but it also gives more restriction and forces creative design to overcome directionality.

Seriously, does this happen to EVERY W-body? Happened on my old Regal, and happened to my friend's Grand Prix. :( At least it's a reasonably easy fix - take the door panel off & bend the rod back into shape. :P

Reliability and safety aren't the same thing, and their number isn't "impossible". It's like saying the average car has to be fixed once every three years, but the QX has to be fixed every year. That's 300% less reliable. Reliability has nothing to do with safety, unless what breaks causes an accident.

    Looks like a bulldog. :)

Those are some sweet trucks. :D
  25. Also keep in mind that the turbo 2.4L ecotec is being made for the solstice/sky platform, which is RWD. Putting it in a FWD platform would take more work. Not tons, but as a manufacturer, GM would have to go through a lot more work than Joe Tuner to put it on there from the factory. I suspect GM might call the availability of a supercharger on the FWD platform "good enough". We can always hope they do it, though. :)
