Explain to me how cursive is either an important technical skill, or such a superior art form that it should be required to be practiced & learned by all students? Why is communication with a computer inferior to curvy connected letters on a piece of paper?

Suburban with a 350. Seriously, compare the fuel economy ratings > Blazer 14/20, Suburban 12/17 My real world experience with a '98 4wd suburban is 15.5-18.5mpg unless I'm towing. If you're doing a lot of commuting with the vehicle, then maybe 2-3mpg might matter to you, but the difference in the safety, power, reliability, and space between a blazer and a suburban is WORLDS apart. We picked up our '98 for $5k, and that was before everyone go scared about gas.

Um, the only thing that makes that Hemi look any better is that they put slightly more thought into their plastic covers. Those things that say HEMI are just plastic covers. You would see pretty much all the same hardware & wires running around like a rat's nest underneath. It does look better than one huge plastic cover over the top of everything, but it's still just made pretty by plastic covers.

Yup, let it become a lost art. Being able to write in print by hand is important IMO, but cursive is a wasted add-on. It's usually too hard to read, and for someone to learn it well enough that it's not too hard to read would require ridiculous amounts of time that would be better spent studying science, art, math, etc, or even just proper use of the english language. The quote about not every kid will have a keyboard made me laugh. I would guess it's around 75% now, and will be in the high ninties within ten years in the US. Even the very poor are more & more able to get a secondhand computer for next to nothing, as a 4+ year old computer anymore is worth next to nothing in this market. Those old computers that seem very outdated to most people are still very functional as a basic web browser and word processor. Not only do I type most of my communication aside from small notes to myself, but anymore it's rare that I even print anything out. E-mail, text documents, and other electronic communication are the majority.

Thanks for posting these, I've always thought the EV1 was a very cool vehicle, though like some others I don't demonize GM for killing a car whose only useful purposes were R&D and marketing. But the thought came to mind while watching - if GM goes through with an all-electric version of the Volt, perhaps it should be called the "Volt EV2"?

You misread the question, and I misread it the same way the first time. Pretty sure you read it as "name one GM car you will never regret owning" (I did) Actual question "name one GM car you will regret never owning"

I almost always tip in the 15-20% range, though I left no tip not too long ago. Some friends, my wife & I went to TGI Fridays on a Sunday afternoon. They were dead - maybe 3-4 tables with people, and just as many servers, so our server maybe had one other table. In spite of this, drink orders weren't taken for probably 10-15 minutes, refills were terribly slow, food was slow, etc, etc. And half the service we got was because I'd wait to catch our server's eye as he was standing around chatting with his coworkers, and I'd have to come up with hand signals to let him know what we needed. I'm very patient with overworked servers, but if we're one of two tables, the service had better at least be a bit above average.

There's athletic aggressive, and there's brute aggressive. For example, that dodge concept up above is more brute aggressive. The Saturn is more athletic aggressive. Athletic aggressive features curves, long thin headlights, and a low stance and as little wheelgap as possible. Brute aggressive features a blunt nose, stronger lines, big round or squared lights.

Then say LED tail lights. It has nothing to do with racing.

Another key item of info in considering a Land Rover... find out how much the insurance will cost. I have known of a few people who found they could get a Land Rover (usually a Discovery) for about the same price as they could get a similar size Ford or Chevy run of the mill SUV, but when they priced the insurance, they had a heart attack. Add in other extra costs, and most people decide it's not worth it.

I'm a fan of just backing up files and wiping the hard drive clean, then doing a fresh OS install to get rid of viruses. Many viruses will block anti-virus programs from removing them, so unless the program is there to block the virus to begin with, it doesn't do much good half the time. Or you can overpay for a mac and be a little safer, but there are viruses for macs, just not as many, at least not yet.

Please, that same mentality about cars is found around most of the globe. There are just different definitions of what is cool or lame to tell people what to buy to have a proper "penis extension". That selfish, self-promoting, self-serving attitude is a human trait, not an american-only one.

I vote S-Series, but I'm biased. The only advantage the Cav has over the S is the ecotec is a little better engine, but it won't get you the fuel economy of an S. Cav might be a hair larger, not sure.

Since it's a FWD vehicle, the shifter would be cable driven & probably not allow flame into the cabin, as the cables would pass through a very small grommet area. Doubtful that a quick flame like that got into the passenger compartment.

That logic includes dozens of cars that could become Saturns. The only reason this one is mentioned is because it's a neat car, not because there is any even somewhat solid reason to think it might happen yet.
