The O.C. driving an Enclave in The O.C.....
BMW sources some 5spd tranny's from GM (for the 5Series I think). Wonder if the X5 has a GM tranny, that has been programmed by BMW???

G8 photos from Woodward Dream Cruise
not so sure about that. what is pricing? how does it compare to current pontiacs? i see buick is managing to sell enclaves at premium price, but not so sure that saturn is as successful. i think pontiac may have problems too if this thing is not priced right. also, prob need to address the mistake they made with the gto, which was shipping the cars to the dealers in the wrong part of the country

Real-World Lexus IS-F Pictures
when i was at Skip Barber, Laguna Seca in April there was a blue one lapping the track. it is a goofy looking car. kinda like a cartoon.

evolution of the CTS plus new caddy drive trains
i'd look for folks with inside facts to substantiate, but i'd go along the lines of 1. biggest problem the CTS has is that there is no alpha car under it. hence it has to wear the 'entry-lux' moniker and provide caddy a lower price point. if there was an alpha, caddy could afford to up the price on cts. (motor trend or r&t did a comparo of cts with 5series and Eclass and some others and CTS won. cause they were factoeing price, the cts was loaded while others were not. i suspect if u compare 08CTS with 535 and E350 it would be a pretty good compare and caddy would fare well on merit, agnostic of price.) re: V8 - yes, when it is available, but it will be a low volume unit. with 304hp from the 6, the 8 is not really needed (shame the CTS names don't convey the engines like bmw and mb - as you know those clowns with the 335 and 545 insist on making sure you know it is not a 328 or 530. (buick prob the only other division with a shot at getting that engine) 2. no freakin clue. i suspect it will exceed the 320hp of the NS, otherwise what is the point!!! 3. STS/DTS will merge and move to zeta (gm4life - don't bother with your DTS needs to stay FWD nonsense again, pls). it will likely be less of a 'sport sedan' and more of a luxury sedan. shame the platforms couldn't be released at same time, it would make sense to name the alpha caddy the CTS (since BTS name sucks) and name current CTS the STS and have the zeta car carry the DTS label as it would be the spiritual succssor to the deville. (I'd name the 'Son of Sixteen' the Fleetwood or the LaSalle - if it ever came to market and i'd go after the Bentley Continental GT and Flying Spur)

2008 CTS Pricing Released
3 series and 5 series are both 'newer' than CTS, which is on it's last legs, so those numbers are skewed somewhat. no way 08 cts will come close to 3series, but watch out 5series(and don't read in to that, that bmw buyers will be running to caddy dealers in mass pandemonium to get a cts, cause that won't be happening. some will, but don't expect a stampede.)

2008 Cadillac CTS - Motor Trend

2008 Cadillac CTS - Motor Trend
probably. i'm sure balthazar could give us the exact date that it was tabled internally at GM as a possible name, the first car that used it and every model since.

2008 CTS Pricing Released
Once again, I see that things haven't changed much. Both of these comments are so totally oout of place with what Cadillac 'used' to be, and what they, hopefully, stive to be in the future - Standard of the World. Never should a Cadillac be considered 'great value'. Want value, buy a Chevy or GTO that is still languisihg on a dealer lot. You guys that think that Cadillac should be a deal just don't get it. It's a Luxury product. Does anyone need a Rolex or a TAG when they can get a Timex for $10? It should really be, I can get a 5 Series for BLS prices(the alpha BLS not that thing we have now.)

600-hp CTS-V
you said that 3+ years ago when the current CTS-V launched.

SPY SHOTS! 2009 Cadillac CTS-V
you're proclaiming the this based on a car that won't be on the streets for 16-19 months? a little naive.

What Cadillac Should do with its Future
you've hit the nail on the head. there is no revamped platform. so unless you want to pull one out of your a$$, get off the DTS on FWD forever kick. it ain't gonna happen.

Exactly how much power can a s/c 3800 II...
is it the hp or the torque that will have the greatest impact on the tranny? it already has 280ft-lb!

What Cadillac Should do with its Future

GM's silly engine covers...
did you just say that the vast majority of people are 'f**g idiots'. so, you're questioning the intelligence of 50-75% of the population? I'm not quite sure what that says about you, but certainly makes me wonder how it is you manage to survive amongst the imbeciles that interact with on a daily basis. btw, it's outlandish comments like these that make this board such an amusing place.

551 Zeta Delayed
interesting marketing. drop the fwd impala, move the malibu upsize to replace it. intro the Caprice as RWD and after a short hiatus the Impala SS (only avail as an SS) debuts as the hopped up Caprice.

You ready for a V8-powered, RWD coupe from Hyundai?
sadly it looks more like the other way round, where the domestics are getting squeezed by Japan and Korea.
