  1. Smart idea. The Saturn dealership just a few minutes away from me is the one that they tested it at in this area. Last year, it was the top dealership in the nation. This year, not so far but it's still in the top 5 from what I remember.

Sounds like a rumor. I think you should change the title because it sounds like you have actual information. From what we've all heard, the Escalade V-series was going to have a V-10 engine. An engine that was supposed to be made but was shelved because of rising gas prices.
  3. Doesn't look half bad with that radio unit. Nicely integrated. It's more attractive now.
  4. I doubt we'll see this on our shores. Saftey standards probably aren't the real reason though. Chevy dealers have probably shown their anger with letting Saturn have a vehicle that is almost a direct competitor with the Aveo and happens to be much more attractive.

Don't worry. The a**hole is back. Time to switch to a new server guys!!
  6. I agree with Croc's idea. Blocking the site to non-users might keep away potential new members because they can't take a look at the type of people post or what kind of topics we discuss. Keeping a limited amount of forums open should be the way to go.
  7. The Antara will be built in Korea but the VUE won't. That's why the VUE is a little different on the interior and exterior then it's Opel/Vauxhall/Holden counterparts.

Man that's early. We probably have a month 1/2 before we start seeing snow here if not a little later. It was 80F and should be around there today as well but the leaves are slowly falling so you can tell autumn is upon us. Judging from the El-Nino predictions, this winter is going to be a doozy. Though, most weather predictions are never right so who knows.
  9. I really hope this won't happen. GM's still in recovery mode and you just know that if any merger were to happen, they'd be the one footing the bill. It would kind of be like the Daimler-Chrysler merger since GM is a good deal larger then Ford.
  10. GM Canada Partnership Key as Chevrolet Prepares to Launch the World's Largest Fuel Cell Vehicle Fleet OSHAWA, ON - There was a special Canadian connection today when General Motors Corp. committed to building the world's largest fuel cell vehicle fleet during the Company's reveal of its next generation fuel cell vehicle - the Chevrolet Equinox Fuel Cell. "General Motors is demonstrating its commitment to hydrogen fuel cells as the answer for taking the automobile out of the environmental debate and reducing our dependence on petroleum," said Arturo Elias, President, GM Canada. "We are especially proud that through partnerships with the Federal and Ontario governments, our Canadian operations will play an important role in the preparation of the Equinox Fuel Cell which will be powered by GM's most advanced fuel cell propulsion system to-date. This demonstrates an important milestone on GM's pathway to automotive-competitive fuel cell propulsion technology development." continue reading
  11. This is good news for the next Cobalt because now, GM will have the extra dough to spend on it, thus making it truly competitive. Not to say that this version isn't, but they did cut costs in a few corners from making the car more expensive then it already was.

Adding to PurdueGuy's post: This is a significant car because unlike the other hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, they still rely on the archaic combustion engine, which is terribly inefficient when you compare it to the skateboard engine. In addition, Hydrogen is one of the most abundant elements on earth, producing the fuel may be expensive but Hydrogen will always be available and can be extracted from a variety of sources. Everyone is aware that the costs are high. That’s why GM and the other automakers involved in Hydrogen fuel cell development are working with other companies to help bring the cost down and set up an infrastructure of hydrogen refueling stations. The US government is even helping along with other countries around the world. Do not think that they haven’t addressed your concerns. GM will have several mild and full hybrids on the market by the end of the decade. The first hybrid will be out very soon if you've been paying attention to the news. Seems like someone is drinking too much Automotive press Kool Aid.

Looks like it a has a toyota camry grille underneath all that white tape. Hmm.. and Toyota now owns a small stake in Fuji Heavy. Coincidence? Seriously though, from what little we can see, it appears Subaru is taking a bit of a conservative/upscale approach(LED tail-lights) for the WRX and now that we know that the ugly Tribecca-styled grille design is going bye-bye that should give comfort to the diehard fans.

I third that. I also nominate Buickman as the new official "C&G troll/post whore" (Sorry NOS)

Welcome sir. Hope you enjoy your stay here at C&G!

Well, remember. This is a lone platform. Not related to the Lambda at all since it's riding on that skateboard chassis but I'm sure a lot of the design elements could show up. This is a very futuristic looking chevy so I doubt we'd have anything looking like this that soon.
  17. Of course it will be cheesy and dumb. Michael Bay is directing it. I'm steering clear of this disaster in the making.
  18. Well, since I usually post stories I read at Autoblog here at the website already, I guess I could be qualified for one position. Though, work and school certainly take up a good portion of the week. Still, it could be something I would be interested it.
  19. I think if all else fails, go see a specialist and just tell them all of your problems. You shouldn't have to keep depression to yourself. If you think it's bad, then it probably is. Go get help man. Depression is a serious problem. Sometimes, working out, getting a job won't do it.

Yeah it's probably due to keeping the name and nothing else. Look at Ford and the name "Futura". It was going to use this name for what is now known as the Fusion but Pep Boys prevented them from using it since it was a brand name for their tires. The really funny thing is that Ford used the name first several decades back but since they didn't renew it, the lost it and will probably not be able to use it again. GM may want to use the name again but I wouldn't count on it right now. The name still has a stigma to it.
  21. Hmm.. interesting. I don't think they should get rid of the SRX but maybe do an extensive redesign and make it a little larger if and when Cadillac phases out the Escalade (which I don't think will happen anytime soon especially with gas prices falling.)
  22. Copies a lot of cues from Ford. I find it rather boring.
  23. I love reading the posts. People rave about Lexus having 8 speeds but when GM gets one, they call it overkill and a waste of money. Don't you love double standards!! This is pretty cool. Would be great in large Cadillac sedan (ULS anyone?) I think GM will have all the technology available for the rumored sedan. A V-12 engine would be a nice addition too.
  24. Yeah... I kind of got the idea that most aussies were kind of pissed that he was reinforcing the "Crocodile Dundee" stereotype. With the Sydney Olympics a few years back, I'm sure it made people realize that you're not all a bunch of woodsmen who live in the outback and throw boomerangs to your pet Kangaroos. He was a great conservationalist so I guess that's something you should be proud of. It's unfortunate that the death of Peter Brock won't get as much world-wide attention though even though he was much more accomplished.
  25. I really meant hight-wise. The Trailblazer looks taller in my opinion. Or these guys must be reall tall themselves.
