GM sees room to consolidate luxury dealerships
I like it, we bought our Pontiac from a B-P-G dealership. Not only did it make cross shopping GM easier, but it also have the appearance of a bigger selection of GM product. It also allows those who buy GM but have more then one GM brand the ability to buy/service at one dealer v. 2. It also means that none have to be a full line brand, so GMC can keep working on trucks, Pontiac on going fast, and Buick on being Cadillac-lite. No more 4 cyl FWD economy Buicks or (soon) Pontiac SUVs.

My point exactly. To quote my neighbor (a 4 time Nissan owner) "Honda's style hasn't changed in 20 years."

Dodge Viper Dead?

CEO of GM's Saab sees stagnation in 2008
Agree 100% How do you keep a brand with such low sales and kill a brand selling 2-3 times as many cars. Only GM.

Dodge Viper Dead?
Although much lower production, the Viper has just as much fame as the Corvette among the younger crowd. The Viper has done a good job keeping the Dodge brand looking young and sporty, something the Avenger and Caliber will never be able to accomplish.

I just saw a black Cadillac XLR on I-95 while on my way home from the gym. I would sell my soul for an XLR.

2009 Chevrolet Traverse Preview
I like it but Im sure Saturn dealers don't. Saturn's biggest selling point was being the lowest priced of the great new triplets from GM. With the Chevy, there is no reason for the Saturn to exist. i fear that once again GM is adding competition only against its own divisions.

FORD January 08 Sales
Wow the Taurus only sold 4100 cars, even the ancient W body Impala sold 3 times that. Looking at the sales figures all the Taurus did was take Crown Vic/ Grand Marquis sales.

January 2008 Sales: General Motors
Even though the OUTLOOK is priced lower then the GMC and Buick sister SUVs it still is the worst seller. It would be nice if GM let more people know about the new products at Saturn. Even the Aura hasn't caught on as the G6 and Malibu have even though it is so similar. DTS and Lucerne are both down as well, would be nice if GM tossed something fresh towards them as well. Too bad they still have the old 4 speed auto as that is a killer on paper when compared to many of the competitions trans. that now have 5 and 6 speeds. I agree with smallchevy, the Impala is way down, 8,000 units is like dropping a whole car line. Thats on track to loose 100,000 units a year. Even with the Malibu doing so well, this must still hurt GM. Over all it does look much better for GM then it did in the past. The new products are doing well, but its clear that many customers know how far the other products are past their expiration date.

Looking for a used car
I have an 01 Aurora 3.5, its a very nice car and has standard leather/auto climate/cd cass/ etc. Ive had 2 problems with my Aurora , the intermediate steering shaft (Im told this is very common, it cost $322 at the dealership) and the leaky trunk (another very common issue). If you want to read up on Aurora specs etc I recommend the Aurora Club of North America (ACNA) its a free online group like this one. Most important, remember that Oldsmobile is always a step ahead.

NY 2008 Preview: Production Pontiac ST pickup to appear
That plastic lower grille looks really cheep, I hope the production G8s don't have that. Chrome upper and lower grilles would look much better.

Aura/Insignia Spied
Wow thats a lot of buttons around that radio, I can see the automotive press tearing GM apart for reverting to the early 90's Oldsmobile 98/Toronado theory of 150 buttons is better then one.

Buying American owned & made does matter
When my dad bought his G6 this was the most important issue, that its made in America, he wanted a HHR but when he found out it was made in Mexico he wouldn't even test drive it. Our neighbor had his job outsourced, and my dad's was nearly at one point. I.M.O part of why Toyota seems so American is because people know they are made here, so to them it still seems like they are buying American. Its hard to say whats more American a Chevy Aveo or a Toyota Camry.

Future Of GMNA
Buick needs more models, why is there no halo Buick? With 3 models, it seems to me that Buick may be next to go.

Tata Nano $2,500 interior picture gallery
I don't think its that funny, they build a cheep commuter car, then build some larger cars until they have a full line up. The money they make in asia selling these to those who otherwise would never be able to own cars will be used to make the company stronger, and just like many never dreamed the Japs would out sell Ford/Chrysler, this may be the next threat to the big 3, at least in over seas markets.

Chucking 1/2 of it all
I saw a silver GMC that sold the same day as our Pontiac (the car was parked inside next to where we signed the papers and watched the deal go down) even my dad who hates SUVs thought it was really nice. That is one of the best new products GM has I.M.O. Best of luck with the new ride.

Another G8 article
They only expect 40,000 a year? How is this going to replace the Grand Prix?
-
New G8s on their way!
If the G8 sells as quickly as many of GM's other new cars, might that bring back on of the other RWD cars that were killed?

Bunnell: B-P-G may each add smaller vehicle
Our local dealer said he would love to have a Skylark to sell to older customers who want a Buick but can't afford the LaX.
