'06 VW Passat 3.6L
judging by all the new 06 A6's I see driving around here, I'd say Audi has NO PROBLEM selling iron around here, even at 45-50k a clip.

'06 VW Passat 3.6L
the v6 passat is a rip off. get a BMW 3 or Lexus IS instead, not a freaking veedub. the 2.0T makes more sense because its much cheaper. I drove an 06 its a great drive but the interior was offputting to me. materials etc. were good, i just didn't like the dash and door panels. too chris bangleish.

Nissan Moves to Nashville - It's Official
the quest had major problems with rattling sliding doors. just now, 2 years after release, the sliding doors are coming off the line defect free mostly. aside from that the quest had numerous other problems. I honestly would be here all night if i tried to list them all. it was 16 days ago i agreed to terms on getting a new quest. the sales gal went to tell the sales manager about when i wanted it delivered so they could get the car prepped. she came back to me with a bombshell. i couldn't take delivery of a new quest. nissan, due to a recall on the middle row seat latches, had decided to not let any quests leave lots until they could ship dealers the part and get them fixed...minimum three weeks. they said they would guarantee my price and give me a free altima loaner for as long as it took to get the recall done and such. an altima......hmmmmm....like i want to drive a cheesy piece of sh--t/crapbox like that. even if its only for a 'minimum of three weeks'. so i said, 'see ya' and went and got something else. bye bye nissan. the quest and many other canton cars and other nissans have all sorts of dumbass crap like that these days. too bad, their engines kick ass.

The implication that CA 'matters most' in spite of its large population and free flowing culture.

a bit pompous on your part, perhaps? that's said, why would you locate your headquarters among the hillbillies? either is better than Detroit, perhaps...if you want to avoid mono-think and tunnel vision.

Election Night In Your Town
i think women soccer mom voters will put Hillary in office and she will have funding support like no other. Personally, I think Hill in office is worse than GWB (and that's already a bad deal), which means sad choices for us all......but Hillary already has 8 years experience running the country so I guess this time we're just making her earn it by getting voted in. When I think of all the choices we've had for presidential elections in the last 15 years or so, I cringe. And its only getting worse. I was never a big Clinton fan, but lately i am thinking maybe he did an ok job.

Drinking games
"quarters" is an old reliable. my buddy and i used to drink to 'saved by the bell'. everytime they would say 'oh screech' you'd drink. there was all sorts of other drinking prompts...like whenever you saw tiffani amber thiessen being hot, or whenever they were at that soda cafe or whatever. i can't remember them all, i just know it was on like twice on TBS every afternoon.

"Buick Attacks the Isle of Avalon"
what its missing NAV 5.1 audio power pedals (even my lowly Ford 500 has those) telescoping SW, much less an attractive one or a power one 5 or 6 speed auto with manual shift handbrake w/ floor shifter keyless starting and access continuously variable valve timing (does it have it or not) 3.6 vvt as base engine (the 3800 is an embarassment in a new 2006 car that weighs this much) a less conservative dash design does it have bluetooth? available dvd rear seat system unfortunately shoppers and the idiot journalists judge a car by what's missing, not what's there sometimes. its 2006.....it should have a telescoping SW in this price class.

Honda Slashes Ridgeline Production
[quote name='evok' date='Nov 7 2005, 04:30 PM'] I wonder if that's what the honda mechanic who had to change all 4 struts on a brand new vehicle was muttering... [post="39902"][/post] [/quote] You know what, that is just childish. These Ridgline owners came over here with good intensions to share their experiences and reasons for making the purchase they did. Personally I have learned a lot from their responses, particulary from their replies to my post on their site. I think it is time for some people or children around here just to grow up. You might learn a lot if you try to educate yourselves instead of hiding behind a wall of ignorance. [post="39918"][/post] [/quote] 15 mpg from a v6 and a bent up frame at 6,000 miles as a reality is not something that's rippable? dare me say that in this case at least one Mitsubishi (Raider) is likely a wiser choice than a Honda, if your road has the slightest hint of say, gravel or loose dirt on it. God forbid there would be dead rodent remains on the road you may run over. that would likely spell the end of the Ridgeline. Unless of course, bleeding heart as some Honda owners are (not as bad as say, Prius owners, but anyways) maybe the better choice would be to stop the vehicle before running over the rodent remains...and utilizing the trunk in the bed for cleaning up the road and transporting the rodent remains so the smell doesn't get around so badly.

Honda Slashes Ridgeline Production
you gotta read some of this from edmunds apparently Edmunds bent up a Ridgeline.....I predicted this sort of thing several times already that it would be happening to folks all over trying to offroad with the thing. Hosed up chassis galore. I was bleating on and on about bent unibodies and too light of suspension and frame components. "So after its first few months in our long-term fleet the Ridgeline gets mixed reviews. We love its practicality and smart design, but question its ability to hold up to the kind of severe use some truck owners might expect. We'll see if it can redeem itself in the coming months as we drive it side by side with close competitors from Nissan and Toyota." all this with less than 6k on the ODO. Best Fuel Economy: 16.1 mpg Worst Fuel Economy: 14.3 mpg Average Fuel Economy (over the life of the vehicle): 14.9 mpg apparently those home depot parking lots have lots of brutal bumps.

If you still have any doubt a Camaro is coming...
considering how long the solstice took from concept to production, even if a new Cam was unveiled Jan 06, I think you'd realistically not be seeing it for sale til CY 2009.

in college, when we needed to 'travel light' to BYOB parties, me and my buddy would each buy 2 20oz cokes, empty out a few ounces of coke form each one and refill with ever clear. easy to carry, tasty to drink, really f*cks you up and cost effective to boot! ah the days. too many drinking stories coming back to my head, but also a few 'that was stupid of me to do that' or 'how the hell did i survive that' stories as well. nowadays, red wine, oddly enough. really love wine. or whiskey with the inlaws. i can't drink beer like bud...its gotta be better beer like anchor steam, or newcastle, or even just leinies.
