Electra (1959) wasn't 'from a bygone era' in '69, or '79, or '89 tho. There was no problem with the name itself, but Buick utilized the top trim level name to replace it when the model was redesigned for '91.

I have little doubt that in the long run, Stellantis will F up Chrysler & Dodge, and just shrug about it. And 1000% agree on the cheesy 'EV" badge- OEMs have to move past this 'trendy pandering' BS.

Just saw a news article earlier today- another Tesla Autopilot fatality.

They should keep doing evolutions of the current series rather than shitcanning it all because the motive power changes. That’s a lot of equity to throw away…

All I can say is; MAN are the tesla forums filled with outrage over the FSD scenario. Tesla just announced a 20% (let’s call it) market adjustment for the package, up from $10K (it once was $4K), to $12K, plus the MONTHLY CHARGE is also going to go up from the current $200.

I learned an interesting fact RE the dawn of the automobile/fueling question. Ford engineered the Model T to run as a flex fuel vehicle; gas, kerosene or alcohol. The reason behind that was Henry Ford wanted to see the farmer be as self-sufficient as possible, and farms always had one or the other of those fuels on-site, and could make corn alcohol themselves. So there really was no ‘fueling anxiety’ in the early years.

It's not, quite, overbearing... but I do find it notable against some people claiming BE's were "silent". Sound level certainly isn't a factor in choosing a BE here (vs. a common family sedan... not a Hellcat).

I wish Lucid well. Has some interesting detailing. Not loving the exterior design, but it's not bad. LOT of motor whine inside, eh?

• 'SLE' is the bottom trim level in the Yukon (SLE/ SLT/ AT4/ Denali). You can't get leather in an SLE, in the SLT it's standard. • That is a tremendous blind spot from the inside- yikes! • I'm not tall (5'8"), I specifically didn't order running board on my Sierra; I have a hop/pull method of gettin up into it, but it's not bad. A trade off for more ground clearance/better sight lines.

I think some of the functionality was interesting, but for what you got & how it looked, it's chances were around $30K, not $125K.

That 'certain group' is called "hypocrites", and absolutely every adult age group has 'em.

It's all statistics. Volume chasers are going to flood every segment, pushing for mainstream volume (toyoter, mercedes, etc). Other Companies are focusing more on future/profitable segments rather than mere volume. It's not like the RAV4 is a compelling vehicle, people just buy them for some reason. Look at the corolla- absolutely bottom of the barrel, people keep buying it.

LOT more SUV competition now- Explorer was the 'it' SUV in the '90s. Try looking at Ford's SUV volume 20 yrs ago vs. 2019.

Going to be more of these start-up failures.
