  1. Thanks, guys. It was a pretty damn good day. My brother got me tickets to see the Panthers on Monday Night Football, and I had my first Irish car bomb. Not too much drinking, though, since I had a test today, and 2 papers due Thursday, so I'm saving the partying for Friday.
  2. No. Dialup users have the option to disable signatures.
  3. Meet with a personal trainer who can help you establish some solid, attainable goals, and a schedule that will help you reach them.
  4. I know what he meant. But ill will isn't contained in just one thread.
  5. They have one. It's called the "ban" feature.

  7. I was raised Catholic as well, was an altar boy, and never had any problems either. In fact, the priest at the church I grew up at is still one of the people I most admire. But there is one man I went to church with who's the classic old school southern, not out of the closet because he doesn't need to be, because everyone knows it, and just carries on with their happy denial, who was pressured by his family to go into the priesthood, but didn't. The Catholic Church is a fascinating organization, as much a political entity as religious (See: Benedict's comments on Muslims) that's quite progressive in some ways, yet held back in many others, due to tradition and its sheer size.
  8. And when your sewage system doubles as your streets, you probably get less fussy about such things.

Jamikel, because my brotherdoesn't enunciate and that's his pronunciation of "James Michael." Seamus, because I like speaking in Irish and Scottish accents, and Seamus is my name in Gaelic.
  10. Yup. Unfortunately, I doubt an organization like the Catholic Church would be very cooperative in a psychological study to get some concrete evidence about this sort of stuff.
  11. Me. Back in high school. (Salut, that is, not val) And I got kind of tired of the bickering that was going on around here, and needed a break. That, and my summer job had $h!ty hours that ate my life. Then afterwards, I just kind of fell out of the habit of posting. Still checked in to check out the new models, though.

The problem with internet message boards: People get wrapped up in this mini-world and get an inflated view of their own opinions. Move on people, nothing to see here.
  14. Blu? Joking? And even if he was serious, there's no way this is the most ridiculous thing posted recently on this site.

No? Well, perhaps THIS will change your mind.

  17. Karmanos bought the Whalers in 1994, with a commitment to keep the team in Hartford. By 1997, they were the Hurricanes. Gary Bettman's whole trend of screwing over established hockey towns to move south has been a really sleazy endeavor. In fact, the trend in all sports for billionaire owners to ask their city to pay for a new arena, then ditch them when the city declines is pretty despicable.
  18. Me too. I mean, i love hockey, and I like having a local franchise, but Peter Karmanos and Gary Bettman are both trolls.
  19. Um, how exactly do governments need densely-populated cities to be inefficient and excessive? Hell, the whole suburban movement itself is a gross exercise in inefficient excess. I prefer to think of it as the "fuck the poor, I don't want to face the fact that there are problems in the world" mentality.
  20. No, he's a good Southern boy. He'll say that Hollywood made him gay, but he's cured now, and then go on to make millions selling Christian rock albums.
  21. Not guilty by reason of insanity is a lot harder for people to get than most people realize. You basically have to prove that you didn't know right from wrong at the time of your actions, such as if you're in a psychotic state. Even then, she's still got to spend an indefinite amount of time in a mental hospital, where it'll be extremely difficult for her to prove that she's no longer dangerous. Plus, even if she does manage to get out eventualy, the stigma that will follow her the rest of her life won't exactly be a walk in the park. So it's not like people who get an NGRI sentence get off scott-free. Fun side note: during the hippie years, the definition of NGRI was a lot more liberal, also including irresistible impulse as a reason, but then John Hinckley had to go and ruin that for the rest of us.
  22. Aye, comparing this with the "Bad drivers tend to own..." thread, I see some definite self-fulfilling prophecy going on.
  23. So, since you've already managed to accidentally get halfway there, any plans to get the full ground effects kit?
  24. Paranoid much?
  25. Did they also give you the wrong rear bumper, RBB?
