So back to the XTS - is it on Epsilon II or "Super Epsilon II"? It definitely looks longer than the LaCrosse.

I like the strakes, if for no other reason than that it's different. It does give a slight tip of the hat to some late 50s/early 60s Chevy dashes. GM actually made an attempt to sculpt the dash rather than offer the same slab that pretty much everyone else is offering these days.

I don't think eAssist is out of the question.

02-03 Maxima is a nice car. I never liked the 04-up Maxima - too big and chunky looking. The GP may be out of place, but it's also the cheapest car on the list. It's not a bad car when looked at in a vacuum. If you're gonna include the GP, you might as well keep your eyes open for a Regal GS or Intrigue. Maybe even an Aurora 3.5 CTS is a nice ride but might be expensive to fix, if needed.

The camo is playing tricks on our eyes. The rear overhang isn't significantly bigger than the Regal's. The front overhang looks small for a FWD car Overall, it has a nice shape and should be the looker of the segment when it comes out.

GM did fairly well in retaining a good chunk of Pontiac buyers. However, they did it by adding to Chevy and adding to Buick. I still don't see how closing Pontiac saved GM anything significant. Hopefully they're working on something that would be a "suitable" replacement for the G8 over at Chevy. And by suitable I mean "a Zeta that's not a Camaro" .

It's probably a combination of using excess capacity and protecting Equinox resale value. I'd agree it makes little to no sense as a retail offering.

If you look at the lengths of the doors - the car appears to be significantly longer than the LaCrosse, and probably bigger inside than what could be achieved by the current Sigma. I honetly see this car as a transition vehicle for Cadillac - one that paves the way for a true flagship. This will retain some but not all of the traditional DTS customers, but will also pick up new customers that the DTS could only dream about, espcially if Caddy dials in the handling/steering/etc to be anywhere close to its rear drive competitione.

I agree. Keep Equinox resale values high by offering this to Avis, Alamo, etc. Might not be a bad option for taxi/airport delivery either. The Vue was a fine vehicle, and it actually looks decent as a Chevy. However, keep it out of dealer showrooms.

Maybe it's just a case of Liddel adding a bullet to his resume and moving on. Ammann isn't exactly a GM lifer - he left Morgan Stanley for GM a year ago.

I'd assume since they designated the next-gen Commodore as VF, that it'll be an evolution of Zeta and FWD is off the table for the Commodore. The FWD crowd will get the global Malibu/Epica. Holden continues to be one of the bright spots for GM. Glad to see their role in global design being increased.

Well, you had the manual in the '04 vs the auto in the '10. That and the bigger displacement probably account for most of your mpg loss. Plus it's barely broken in. If you can swing it, you're better off holding onto the truck and getting a really cheap penalty-box of a beater to save on fuel costs. You can also do a couple of bolt-ons for the Colorado to eke out a couple more MPGs.

Seriously, it's a box. Even if Fiat were to give it all new sheetmetal for the Ram brand, I'm guessing it won't exactly be the second coming of the 63-67 Corvette. And it's not supposed to be. It's purposed with one job - to haul sh*t. If it can do that quickly, reliably, and cheaply, it'll do well.

I don't think a couple of rapping hamsters can save this one. It's pretty fugly.
