Ugh. It would have been better to keep L-Tuned. F is for Ford.

  6. BMW struggled to sell the 524td in the mid-'80's. It was introduced as the country was coming out of the fuel crisis, and GM did not help the cause of diesels back then either. Performance of diesel engines has increased markedly since then, yet I still think that there is only a tiny market for high performance diesel vehicles. However, I am glad that these new diesel engines will be made available here.

  10. I'm disappointed, yet not entirely surprised about the weight gain. The current VUE and Equinox weigh about the same. I know that as features and safety equipment are added, and as structural rigidity go up, weight goes up, but this is almost 20% higher. The new 900 trucks also got big weight gains. Nowadays, 4,000 to 6,000 pound vehicles are the norm. There's just something absurd about that.
  11. I hope those weight figures are inaccurate, because that would make the VUE ridiculously heavy.
  12. I'm not surprised that the Lexus came in last because it's an isolation booth geared towards comfort, not energetic driving. In my very brief drive of it at Taste of Lexus, I found it very soft. I haven't driven any of the rest except for the 750iL, where I have had some real world experience in it. It feels very heavy, but it's also very capable. If I were to buy any of these vehicles, it would be the Lexus because of reliability.
  13. Rough month for Pontiac. Aura sales coming at the expense of Malibu and G6?

  15. Great-looking car with very tasteful mods. I've always liked that generation a lot more than the current one.

  18. Just awful. The rear can make for a revived CL, but nothing else is salvageable.
  19. My initial impression is of bland Korean box, but on closer inspection, it has some nice detailing. I do not like the gratuitous fake side vents, though. The shape of the taillights remind me somewhat of the gen2 Olds Aurora's given the Korean treatment. The round rear markers/fogs look like an afterthought. The inside sets no new standards for style, but I find it agreeable.
  20. This is exactly the technology that I want to have, but I would prefer it not to be in an SUV or crossover, and I think a four-banger would be better than a V-6. Nonetheless, I am very intrigued and would consider buying one of these.

  22. These camera angles are not flattering at all. I imagine it would look better in person.
  23. I really dislike the grille. Makes the front look clunky.
