Toyota denies Tacoma is defective
i have a cousin that chided me for putting electronic ignition on my impala and getting rid of the points system on it. he said with points you can fix it if something goes wrong, you can get points anywhere. my reply? now i dont have to routinely adjust them, i get a hotter spark and its a bit more reliable

More Britain / EU lunacy
yeah, thats a little scary really. i know its just an anime series but Code Geass on adult swim seems like a good representation of how that could turn bad

wonder how hard it would be to clone? then you wouldnt feel so bad for riding it hard and putting it up wet.

An Automotive Enthusiast's Nightmare
thats my biggest fear, someone maliciously attacking my vehicle. mainly cause i fear what i would do after i became irrational with rage. i cussed out 5 football players in the high school parking lot cause when i came out they were leaning on my 69 impala. it wasnt a cherry paint job but they didnt even really know me. i do fell however that less than 25 mpg cars are going to be looked upon like wearing a brown belt with black shoes one day.

Is the Camaro dead?
exactly... i showed my dad the new ss cobalt and a video of it on the inside line... hehe he was pretty depressed that an ss cobalt can take his 94 z28's lunch with only a few tweaks. on that same note when he was shopping for a car once he passed on a 87 buick gn for a 86 monte carlo. all he knew at the time was v6 < v8. once he realized what made that buick nasty he kicked himself for signing on the monte. turbo and N/A v6's are trespassing in V8 territory these days from all sorts of automakers and for once it really wouldnt pain me to drive a v6 as long as it had north of 285hp

Spotted!
i remember when they first announced the ss trailblazers there were very high hopes for it because it was close to the same wheelbase and powertrain numbers as the 67 396 SS's... whether they lived up to that hype i guess is personal opinion.

GM announces big changes to deal with higher gas prices
that seems to be the biggest issue really, vehicles that people just want not a vehicle they need. girl i work with bought a 07 tahoe after graduating school because she has always wanted one. doenst tow, no kids, just her and her husband (he uses an older tahoe as a work truck). i tried my best to talk her into something else like an equinox or a envoy denali or something along those lines... wouldnt do it. had to start driving a hour one way to work and found the tahoe wasnt the right choice after all...sold the tahoe and got a a.. freakin camry because its great on gas.... argh! i told her there was nothing special about a camry and that most gm midsize cars get that same mileage, even the impala can hit that mark. my friend's v6 firebird got 28 on the hwy. moral of the story though is people need to research before they prepare to sign that dotted line...

take a moment
be sure to take a moment today and reflect on what occured on the beaches of normandy today 64 yrs ago, if not for those brave souls we may not enjoy the things we do today. dont just think about the allied sacrifices, the guys on the other side fought for what they believed as well and showed just as much valor. http://www.normandie44lamemoire.com/versio...metieresus.html

I'm afraid of reading Enzl's next post
speaking of being ahead of the times, he also tried to get a rotary powered chevy to market shortly before he retired, the only drawback was the emissions were just too bad. "Chevrolet acquired a licence for the Wankel engine in 1970. Two and four rotor engines were built and mounted mid-ships in experimental cars. They went on to get Pininfarina to style a new Corvette around the engine as they considered production options. Various two and four rotor, steel bodied and glass-fibre bodied Corvettes were worked on until 1974 when retiring GM president Ed Cole suspended rotary engine development due to emissions difficulties. Research was halted completely in 1977." http://www.pistonheads.com/features/rotary/

I am gonna blow... This is one of hell'uva a RANT!
i think a lot of the problem is the materialistic view instilled in most, outwardly shown by having vehicles people want instead of the vehicle they need. example married couple, no kids cruising around in a tahoe.

I'm afraid of reading Enzl's next post
man i wish we had a man like Ed Cole running the show again. it was he that made some great moves back in the day. i used to think he was a bum cause he made the call to drop compression for the 71 model year, but after doing some reading about him and where he came from and all the things he accomplished, if we could only have someone of his character and expertise back in the saddle people would say toyo-what? as far as the domestics i sadly have my money on ford for now, they were looking bleak and suddenly they are heading back up, with a very secure line up. the next 5 years are going to be a long strange trip.

GM announces big changes to deal with higher gas prices
i got an 04 colorado crew cab. i can tow our stratos f/s quite well. as long as you are say in the exterminator business or something along those lines it would be fine, heavy construction... no. so when we are saying the plants are closing... is this for the year or forever... does this mean no new trucks for the rest of the year or no more new trucks? i dont completely understand that.

Why do you like the Brand you like, what 1st grabbed you about the brand.
chevy first and foremost... it was instilled in me by my dad. since high school though i have come to like everything gm and and mopar... occasionally theres a blue oval that grabs me and once in a blue moon i see an import that justifies a second glance.

You have reached a river...
remember playing oregon trail in school. when you got to the big rivers you could get a guide, ask advice, caulk your wagon and float or if you were brave enough, forge that bad boy. taking the forging to the extreme... cant we not get these here? onward.... Haoooooooo!
