HUMMER plans 'till 2011
I know Lambda is larger but it is a car-based crossover model with power, style, and features.

neighbor's GTO plans
Are they (MTI) using the aluminum block/heads Pontiac block that I read about a few years ago? Ohhh, what an all aluminum EFI 455 could do.

HUMMER plans 'till 2011
Add in the fact that GMT355 Rodeos are using the 3.6 HF V6 in Aus as we speak.

Theta, TE, or something else?

Blue Devil Caught on Camera...in final tuning phase
My bad I just figured that since it was already posted.Anyways do we know how much difference there will be between the Z06 and the Blue Devil? I know Lutz said that even a grandmother could tell the difference b/t a Z06 and a C6 but it really isn't to extreme. I hope it is a little more differentiated than those 2?

Now how did I know I would find you in here?

Failures that should of been successful
Yep, and the XUV looked to tall. Even compared to the other LWB 360s. I guess it had to do with the rear hatch area motors.I wouldn't mind getting one and cutting off the rear cover area and making it like a smaller Avalanche.

Seneca? I think we will see a more mainstream derivative of GMT345 (H3). Though I don't know weather it should go under the GMC or the Chevy badge. I would like to see it under one OR the other. Also on an off chance GM could decide that a GMT355 based SUV isn't needed with Chevy having a Theta, Lambda, and 2 GMT900 SUVs. Perhaps it should go to GMC, afterall they are the 'professional grade' brand. That could match up well with the 'like nothing else' Hummer.

That is some clever hiding they are doing. Cover up a new model/chassis in a current body that without seeing the underbody and smaller wheels/tires would appear to be nothing special. From the profile shot it appears this mule has a shorter wheelbase than 360 though they probably just needed a few more inches for the FWD powertrain, lord knows that GMT360 has quite a tall/long engine bay. But you can also see in the shot of the front wheel area that the inner wheel well is different.

SHANGHAI: Buick Riviera Concept
So the totally custom one off approach is actually cheaper, who would have thought?

Hmm...I wonder what programs he could be talking about?

Failures that should of been successful
The T-bird should have been a vert for Jag rather than a Vert for Ford. It would have had a much higher margin and the conservative and classy styling could have made it a real MB competitor. But it would have needed the 4.2 V8 and the SC4.2 from the start.

SHANGHAI: Buick Riviera Concept
See I don't get why companies do this. I would think that they would start out with a chassis already in production, or headed to productin, and then modify it to suit the concept. Like the 99 Nomad. It was based on the F-body but with rediculose amounts of changes. But was still probably cheaper than a whole new 'concept' chassis.

Car Talk
Umm, I will call BS on this since at 100k they are supposed to have the timing belts replaced. Not to mention that my Boss's 97 LS w/200k on the clock had to have the entire rear differential replaced. He actually asked me "Is that something important?" BTW the Lexus couldn't make it out of his driveway w/ the slightest snowfall so he borrowed his dad's Olds 98 to drive whenever it snowed.

Cruising along at about 2350 rpm, going about...
Yes it was, thanks for noticing.

New Buick rear-driver coming to China, U.S.
That is what I was thinking as well. But if Hammtrack and Oshawa are BOTH flex capable, and we are talking flex enough to do both FWD and RWD chassis, then it is possible that EPII production could fill space in either plant. Also I think Alpha could be poised for either Willmington or Hammtrack, if it is even produced in the US.

Team Chevy introduces new R07 racing engine
So this is LSx or LS-X based. Makes sense. The oil squirters should allow for higher compression w/out detonation. That could produce some more power. I wonder if a production LS7 could still outpower this engine (w/ a restrictor plate).

SHANGHAI: Buick Riviera Concept
Most likely Zeta based on the overhangs. But I guess it could be Epsilon.

The replacement vehicle will come from Oshawa, right?
-
SHANGHAI: Buick Riviera Concept
Yes it does. Buick China is the design house for both markets. It shows the design cues that ALL future Buick cars worldwide will carry. Read the Statesman article for clarification. US dealers can't reject a car for production. They can choose not to order ,it if their contract with GM allows them to not order certain models. US dealers also didn't get a chance to accept the car. GM Holden only has so much capacity to build and they are going to be quite full with what is on their plates, right now. The plans for the GMNA Zeta program include a fullsize Buick. The GMNA large Zeta Buick will likely replace the just debuted Chinese Park Ave when it goes into production at Oshawa after the Camaro and Impala, likely when the new DTS enters production. While theirs does look top shelf it costs it as well. Also theirs came out a couple of years after the NA Lacrosse. The W-body just won't be around long enough in the US/Canada to justify the spending for a massive update to make our Lacrosse into the China Lacrosse. So the Lacrosse soldiers on while the EPII replacement is in the works. And the rear end is a direct rip off of the pre CLS Mercedes NOT Kia. If that is what you want to believe then sure. People were pessimistic about Opels coming the US as Saturns too weren't they?

First Enclaves roll off the line
Both valid points. I do see that the NG Malibu will provide funding for many other projects and I DO think that the NG LaCrosse should get EPII instead of the soon to be out of date EPI. I concede my statement.

First Enclaves roll off the line
Moreso than that they need a top of the class Lacrosse. The EP Lacrosse can't come soon enough. I actually will venture to say that the new Malibu should have been a Lacrosse and that the current ugly Malibu could have soldiered on a few more years.
