  1. Looks VERY close to a VE Commodore, though it could be a Statesman I guess.
  2. I would like to view the brochure but for some reason I can't download the attatchemnt. Anyone else having this trouble?
  3. You do know that there are 4 valve OHV engines in produciton, right? The Duramax is probably the best example. Didn't the original 426 Hemi engines have a central spark plug? No instead of heavy springs you get 2 much heavier cams on top of each cylinder for a total of 4 for a V engine, instead of 1 cam in the valley. Also with the weight being higher on the engine the vehicle would have a higher tendancy to rotate because the weight is closer to the center of gravity, or slightly above it. GM holds patents on a twin cam CVVT system for OHV engines. Not only that by the VVT Gen IV V8s are already in production. And has the opposite been demostrated conclusively? If not the point is moot. I don't think the actuation of the valves plays a huge role in the sound of the engine. In fact I would wager that the shape of the valves, engine firing sequence, and shape of the exhaust port plays a much larger role in the exhaust note. Please note I am not trying to argue with you. Just pointing out some, apparent to me, flaws in judgement.
  4. It isn't production. The airbag area is to small.
  5. Weight, cost, complexity. All were to high for a low volume imported car. If the G8 were being imported at 100k levels I could see AWD being made an option, it is already engineered into the chassis.
  6. I was stating why it was left out of many models.
  7. Because if the over guess the # they need it can cost much $$$. There was a good post by SS over on CZ28.com over a year ago about it.

It doesn't matter what type of induction or displacement, in order to accelerate you need power and that power comes from burning gas. It may be more frugal on fuel while idling or when cruising but if you step on the accelerator it is going to burn about the same amount of gas as any engine that makes comparable power.
  9. I thought it was farting. But I wasn't sure.
  10. That actually shows a HUGE improvement. It shows just how far you can go with an interior upgrade. Now will the H2 be moved over to the GMT900 chassis or what?

The L98 passes Bin IV emissions, Europe, so it will easily pass the emissions in the US.

So that is what 1k cars a year? Compared to what all Holden exports I bet the L98 gets the nod.

What AUS produced Holden has a LS2 now?

No clue but I would say you are close. No it will have whatever engine the Comodore SS has, so L98 60 GenIV V8. And if there is a V6 it will get the 3.6 DOHC. Sometime this Fall has been thrown around quite a bit.

    Lurker! :AH-HA_wink:
  17. So Chris will there be any suprises in Chicago. We already know about the G8. But anything special?
  18. I haven't see an LS1 conversion but I did see an LS6 conversion in a mag once. It was super tight the engine was actually off center and the drive shaft had a slight bend to it. But it worked. Of course the LS6 powered CTS-V came out a little over a year after I saw the car in the mag so I beg the dude wasn't thrilled about all the money he just spent.
  19. I had forgoten about the Pronto Spyder, that was one fine looking auto.

What if it has the Chinese Lacrosse interior too?!I think it will go Enclave, EP Lacrosse, RWD halo (maybe sedan maybe not). And that is all I can think of so far.
  21. I like it but why only the suicide door on the passenger side?
  22. That is probably OK you would just get hit by someone in it. Though it would give you Aurora a break.
  23. The 5.7 is a bargain. The closes GM engine, the 6.2, is only available in the Sierra Denali right now and it is likely quite a bit more expensive. Also you can get the 5.7 in every cab configuration.

I wasn't joking. That is what I have always hear it reffered to as. Heck I think GM has been using the same basic design since the early 80s, my 84 S-10 had one. I personally love it, functional and easy to use. Like an old pair of shoes.
