Here's to hoping this is one reason why Chinese cars will never make it here...

So to you, razoredge, doctors, nurses and dentists who walk into offices every day are are not needed, financial advisers and economists are not needed, lawyers are not needed, small business owners who work behind the scenes of their own company are not needed, marketers, architects, designers...the list could go on and on. All because "they don't do anything." You do know that not every job revolves around go to work in a warehouse or out in the field?

I guess we'll all believe it when we see it...err, them?

I don't think it would hurt to have a wagon version of the Lucy. Sure it wouldn't sell tons but to MB, BMW and Audi wagons sell tons? It would be good to have against Volvo but GM would have to nail the wagon to beat a Volvo. Better than the Rainier, at least.

Are those people enforcing the rules or making up the rules? "Oh, I think we deserve a 15% salary increase this year so that'll be a rule and if our employer doesn't abide by it, we'll strike!" Your salary should go up because you're actually working for that increase in salary and/or better benefits. I believe it's called merit pay. You shouldn't demand a certain pay and expect to get it based on your definition of whether your job is "hard" or "time consuming" or "needed." Many people believe those words describe their jobs. Bob and John assemble cars at GM. Bob is lazy, unmotivated and doesn't care much about his job. There are mistakes he makes every day because he doesn't care but they don't effect him, just GM. Meanwhile, John loves his job and does the best he can do. He believes in his company and his fellow employees and it shows. They're both paid $60,000 a year, not including benefits. Which worker would you a) demote, B) promote, c) fire, or d) give a raise to? My understanding is that doesn't happen with unions. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I honestly think and HHR truck would be a great idea. Regular and extended cab models with the normal Ecotec standard and supercharged engine optional. I wasn't hating on your idea, just trying to stir up controversy. :P Does anyone want to attempt a chop?

That is a pretty good idea. To try to level the playing field (union or nonunion), U.S. unions should do some "undercover work" in developing countries. I like it.

Manufacturing will be "gone" from the U.S. because the unions can't cut the companies they work for any slack. The companies end up moving production elsewhere (ie. a cheaper place). Would it really hurt you to pay 10 - 25% of your health insurance or receive a slight decrease in wages if you don't want to hurt your benefits? How about providing for your own retirement by putting some of that paycheck away or investing some of it? I do both now and I'm 18. I won't be relying on any company or government to take care of me when I have the resources and opportunity to take care of myself. My dad owns a company he built from the ground up. It's small, only a few employees but he's made it past what's considered the big hurdle to small businesses: staying in business for more than 5 years. His nonunion employees have the same benefits as unionized workers: 100% healthcare coverage, a company car, paid days off, etc. He also gives them the option to trade in their benefits for a higher salary. My point is that you keep complaining manufacturing companies are going overseas but unionized workers with outrageous demands are part of the problem.

I never knew about the Acura Civic thing until a few hours ago so I couldn't comment on it. Another thing is that it isn't sold in the U.S. so it's not really that big a deal to us American GM fans. At least Honda didn't spread the Civic around to 4 nameplates, even though it only has 2...but you still get my point.

HAHAHAHA. That's even worse than the Cobalt/Persuit rebadge...Acura's a luxury manufacturer selling a Civic! That would be like Cadillac rebadging a Cobalt!

I agree. Flamboyantly gay guys do a large disservice to the normal gay population.

The STI/Evo segment is very small and the money and time spent to develop the AWD Cobalt will be a waste. It could be spent elsewhere. On Buick or Pontiac, perhaps? Got an idea: an AWD Pontiac that looks significantly different from the Cobalt/Persuit and offers awesome performance, all for about $25,000.

I still don't like the Civic design. It still makes me cringe.

I look at the R and see "Pacifica." I'm not saying the Pacific is the worst vehicle on the road (far from it) but why are you paying double for what's virtually the same thing/concept?

Saw a video on the local news earlier. It looks like the bikerider would be thrown off the bike due to the airbag.

Exterior design: Civic Interior design: Cobalt Overall: Need to drive Based on looks alone, I'd pick the Cobalt. Though I think the exterior design of the Civic is more substantial, I'm not fond of the Ion-esque front and the interior downright sucks.

I like it. In your face, bold styling that will attract attention and sell. I believe this is designed more towards the sport crossover market while the Jeep Patriot is designed to appeal to the offroad crossover segment.

The exterior design of the coupe is cool. That's about it.

Cleaning my car (inside and out) is annoying. It's there, I know I have to do it, but I don't want to. It's kind of like mowing the lawn. Never had to fix a flat and I'm not looking forward to it. AAA or DAD.

I was going to say...Millennium Park was just opened. Kudos to GM for taking advantage of the situation. Toyota should have seen something like that coming (or planned to give their own rides).
