So, now that I am a "product specialist" for Jeep, I get people asking me lost of stuff about Jeeps and it's a lot of fun. I really realize how much stuff there is to remember about all the different models. But today, I had a lady come up to me and ask me where the Oldsmobile display was at. I was kinda taken aback and I wanted to tell here that it didn't exist anymore, but I just pointed her in the direction of the GM display.

Its Grey in the inside... and yeah thats the 610 ISB or 5.9 for those who prefer the dodge designation. All I know is that this truck has had some modifications in the engine department and I get about 5-6MPG with a GCVW of a little under 26,000lbs.
  5. I like the plain blue and white Michigan plates.... something about them just says "automotive industry" Kinda like the truck I'm driving now.... you see a new vehicle with michigan plates out of the state of MI and you think "Corporate car or truck"

I didn't even notice that till now..... thats SWEET! Oh yeah and the truck has a bigger turbo and a Jacobs exhaust brake on it too... the guys at the fab shop where the trailer was made called it a "mini tractor" (like a big rig)

Here are some Pics of the truck and trailer that I am driving around. This truck is a DCX fleet vehicle. It has the 6 speed stick in it and its a 4X4 Laramie trim. It has some added goodies like an air suspension in the back and a 100 gallon fuel tank. The Jeeps I will have Pics of tomorrow hopefully.... you are not going to believe what we are doing with one of them!!!
  8. and they get NASCAR next year...
  9. I know I'm going to get bashed for this, but I am GM to the core except for one thing.... XM sucks and Sirius is the best. Anybody else here listen to Howard Stern or Bubba the Love Sponge? I hear now that you can get a new "brain" for your car to switch the radio from XM to Sirius.

Both Bubba the Love Sponge and Howard Stern had those religous wackos on.... they are getting their message out like they want, but gosh, why do they have to do things like that at a funeral.

They are coming to FRESNO! Woot! I think they were supposed to be here this week, but it got postponed for this tour. Funny thing is that the Save Mart Center is one of the top 20 concert places in america based on ticket says, proof once again there is nothing else to do in this city.
  17. Gold was discovered in 1848 near Sutter's Fort and the rush of people that came to California was in 1849.
  18. Yeah, it does look like one big pipe..... What I was trying to say is that there usually is a reason for having such a large pipe. And I know on a lot of class 8 trucks now, the aftertreatment is in the muffler and the whole exhaust system is key to keeping the emissions in check. Altering even the tailpipe on this system may bring the truck out of compliance.
  19. From the state's website ""The Golden State" has long been a popular designation for California and was made the official State Nickname in 1968. It is particularly appropriate since California's modern development can be traced back to the discovery of gold in 1848 and fields of golden poppies can be seen each spring throughout the state."
  20. All of California is considered a desert basically. The motto "The Golden State" comes from the fact that the grass dies every year and turns golden. If it was not for canals and federal water projects, nobody would be enjoying all the wonderful food and raw textiles California's central valley produces. Most people don't know that ag is a 30 BILLION dollar industry in California, and it is DOUBLE the size of any other industry...... #2 is aerospace and #3 is media/entertainment
  21. Fly, can you do a comparasion between BV's car and maybe say a small pebble? I'm curious to know which one would win.
  22. Load rating may also be another reason for the wheel/tire combinations. In order to get certain payload ratings, you need to have a load rating on the tires that can support that amount of weight. My question is, why does GM still use a steel wheel with a "dog dish" like hub cap and not have factory polished wheels? Ford does, and dodge uses a full plastic/chrome hub on its wheels.
  23. With the new EPA and CARB emissions standards on diesel engines starting in 07 MY, I would be very careful as to what I did to the exhaust of any new diesel truck. A lot of the aftertreatment is dependent on mufflers and flow of the exhaust and the reason it looks the way it does may be because of that.
