Former GM CEO, Robert Stempel, Passes Away At 77
I remember reading about how he used to keep a piece of legal pad paper in his suit pocket with the names of the plants he would have to close if things didn't get better at GM. I always felt like he was a "fall-guy" and very talented.

Cadillac Seville Elegante
That's cool, you won't be competition when I DO have the money to pursue the purchase of one. The polarity of the car is one of the things that makes it special. I would not be buying the car for power. It is unique. The motor may be a failure, but it is a conversation piece.

The Taxi of Tomorrow is: The Nissan NV200
See I was aiming the comment about accessibility assuming this is the only model. I know right now that there are accessible taxis in NYC. I'm sure a certain percentage have to be. Also, the Turkish company was going to use Union American labor for assembly. I would still have pissed on Ford for not building them in the US.

The Taxi of Tomorrow is: The Nissan NV200
Couple of things: 1) No Wheelchair access = automatic lawsuit. 2) Thanks NYC for trying to be the super patriotic city then going with Nissan who is using cheap Mexican labor to build the "van" 3) All that electronic gizmo crap will break quickly and won't be repaired = waste of money. 4) 10 year contract is absurd. No public enteity should be able to sign a purchasing contract that will last that long. Plus, I'm guessing there will be another 10 year option after the first few years that NYC can pick up if they are happy lazy. This is going to get interesting when purveyors hate these things and cant get anything else.

2012 Corvette Brings Along Some Interior Tweaks, Tires, and New Options
Many of these seats are brand name but often they are not noted. Same on wheels and other parts. I remember the wheels on my Inlaws old town car were OZ Racing but it was only on the back of the wheel. Top Suppliers often don't get a tag or label. Exactly. I was just going to say that OEMs usually aren't designing seats. It is companies like TRW and Recaro etc that do it.

GM Won't Bump Up Release Of Next Generation Pickups
Gas savings at the truck level are significant with a few MPGs compared to say 10MPGs at the small car level. Think about it like this: going from 15 to 18 MPGs is a 27% improvment. Going from 30 to 40 MPGs is a 12% improvement.
