US Supreme Court overturns 1937 corporate campaigning ruling
I mean, is anybody really surprised by this? Obviously the founding fathers wrote in the Constitution that this is OK. This would be the only reason why Scalia and Thomas voted for this.

C&G Race Car
As many of you know already, I am a member at iracing.com. Iracing is now allowing members to paint their cars and use them in the game and I thought it would be fun to have a Cheers & Gears car to drive around. I have attached the template that needs to be used in a zip file. The template is a Photoshop document and here are the rules from iracing: "The cars have to be 1024x1024. The suits and helmets 512x512. If they are the wrong size they are ignored. The final tga should be saved as a 24 bit tga. I would also strongly recommend turning on RLE compression on the TGA to help cut the size of the texture down." Latemodel Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS.zip

Detroit 2010: Cadillac XTS Platinum Concept
Justin Bimmer replied to vonVeezelsnider's topic in North American International Auto Show in Detroit (NAIAS)SMK - 1st where do you get your numbers from? 2nd, I think the only reason why one of the manufactures you named would get blasted for FWD product is because there is this rabid group of FWD haters here. If MB or BMW came out with a nice car that was FWD I would not automatically bash it and I know some other people on here would not bash it either. There is not a 100% correlation between hating FWD and being a fan of GM because if that was the case then GM would have no fans.

One More Down
Well, I don't know how body shops work in your neck of the woods, but in California, you don't have to be affiliated with a new car franchise to have good business. Also, independent shops get certified by manufactures too.

Detroit 2010: Cadillac XTS Platinum Concept
Justin Bimmer replied to vonVeezelsnider's topic in North American International Auto Show in Detroit (NAIAS)So since a Toyota Camary appeals to all people as it is the best selling car so it is the best car on earth right? The purpose of Cadillac is not to appeal to all people. It is to appeal to people who have $40,000 plus dollars to spend on a car that is cutting edge on technology and styling and comfort. Styling is subjective as is handling, comfort, and performance. When this car comes out, I think you will see it do really well in the Midwest where AWD cars are popular because of winter weather. I think this car will do well on the west coast to because of the powertrain and the considerable savings on gas it will offer over its counterparts.

Detroit 2010: Cadillac XTS Platinum Concept
Justin Bimmer replied to vonVeezelsnider's topic in North American International Auto Show in Detroit (NAIAS)People who own a DTS are not going to want to go to a Buick. There is a reason why people bought the DTS over the Buick that were identical in the first place. . . One is a Cadillac. I know this may be a tough mindset for people to understand, but you can't piss off customers that you have already just to try and get new customers. People who own a Cadillac want another Cadillac to replace it with.

Toyota Avalon displays unintended acceleration without floor mat
Left Lane News In a rather bizarre instance, a driver reportedly began to experience unintended acceleration from his Toyota Avalon and was able to drive the car to a nearby dealer with the vehicle still displaying wide open throttle, despite having the floormat removed. Dealer techs witnessed the problem and have reportedly offered to repair the vehicle free of charge. According to a report from The Safety Record, on December 29, 2009, the driver of a 2007 Toyota Avalon experienced a bizarre case of sudden and unintended acceleration while driving on the highway, just miles from a local Toyota dealer. The driver managed to switch the vehicle between Neutral and Drive multiple times, while en route to the dealer in order to show the dealer the problem as it was still occurring. The driver was able to reach the dealer, place the vehicle into neutral, and allow it to continue operating at wide open throttle. The dealer sent out a tech who verified that the floor mat was removed, and pushing the gas pedal had no effect on the acceleration. The dealer was unable to stop the wide open throttle and was forced to shut the vehicle off. This incident was apparently not the first for the driver, either, who had been to the dealer before about the problem. The first time the unintended acceleration occurred, the driver was able to slow the vehicle with the brakes and switch the vehicle into neutral – where the engine continued to hit maximum rpms. At the time of the first incident, dealer diagnostics revealed no problems in the computer. The dealer eventually offered to replace the throttle body, accelerator pedal and associated sensors free of charge for the driver after the second incident. This incident may prove to be a crucial step in finding the true cause of the many reported cases of unintended acceleration in Toyota vehicles. Toyota began its largest-ever recall in 2009 to replace the floor mats and accelerator pedals in over 3.8 million vehicles that could experience unintended acceleration. Critics and survivors of unintended acceleration cases argued that the problem was not a result of the floor mats or accelerator pedals, but instead insist that the computer controlling the acceleration of the vehicle is at fault. The Safety Record also reported on a one-car crash that occurred in Dallas, Texas the day after Christmas involving a Toyota Avalon. According to the accident report, the vehicle inexplicably left the road and ended up crashing through a fence, and landing upside down in a pond – killing all four occupants. The floor mats were found in the trunk of the car – ruling out the possibility of the floor mat causing the accident. The official cause of the Dallas crash has not yet been determined.

Detroit 2010: Cadillac XTS Platinum Concept
Justin Bimmer replied to vonVeezelsnider's topic in North American International Auto Show in Detroit (NAIAS)Why can't Cadillac be both? Full line luxury marks have everything to sell to people who want to buy it. I think GM is starting to do a good job of keeping Buick out of the Cadillac price range. Besides, you are always going to have overlap with the most expensive Buick and the cheapest Cadillac.

Detroit 2010: Cadillac XTS Platinum Concept
Justin Bimmer replied to vonVeezelsnider's topic in North American International Auto Show in Detroit (NAIAS)Also, I don't think a lack of RWD products from GM has been because of CAFE. I think it has been because their business plan from old school bean counters said no to it.

Justin Bimmer replied to vonVeezelsnider's topic in North American International Auto Show in Detroit (NAIAS)What is the XTS' weight level? It's over 9000! What? 9000? Seriously though, this is not even close to a Cimmaron. This car is far away from the worst Cadillac ever

Detroit 2010: Cadillac XTS Platinum Concept
Justin Bimmer replied to vonVeezelsnider's topic in North American International Auto Show in Detroit (NAIAS)Maybe I shouldn't answer this cause I don't have a problem, but AWD should make a difference on the "perceived" inadequacy of FWD.
