I have the same goodyear tires on my 06 malibu SS 18 inch 50 series (not 100 percent on that number) 225 Goodyear eagle LS2s. I had the slighly older 16inch 55s good year eagle ls p225 tires on my alero and fromthat experience I would say that while a fairly quite tire and one that will last a long time it WILL not mae the most of your drivtrain combo when it comes to off the line performance and weaving in the corners. On my alero I finally had to replace the orignal tires... after puching and puching them for almost 60k miles and got Perelli P - zero nero tires. Like night and day in terms of performance though my friend who got the same tires said the P zeros are spend in 20-25k miles and being performance tires they dont do well in the snow or rain. IF you want a well ballanced tire with a crap load of tire life stick with the good years. If not there are only 3 choices avaliable for the 18 inch epsilon wheels as they are a really wierd profile to footprint combination. There is a cheap brand, cant remember the name, the good years, and a performance either BF goodridge or bridgestone cant remember that either right now. I I know is town fair tires quoted me a wopping 200 a tire for the performance tires. GM unfortunatley has a nack for giving us strange and or limited tire options quite often with their wheel sizes.

yep with utilities we pay over 30k a year and its not even that big a place. only about 1800 sq ft, and I do share the biggest bedroom, only 13x10 with my roomate. There are 2 other slightly smaller bedrooms that my other two roomates each have singly and there is actually a "4th" bedroom that is only 6x7 and basically unlivable so we turned it into a storage/study room. Honestly, New Rochelle is closing on NYC prices being only 20 min out from the city. Still this place in the cuty would probablyl rent for 3500 a month.

well most weeks I only work around 30-35 hours in the office during the week. I take my classes in the morning beofre work and then work to about 7. I have dinner and am ready to do homework/ study at 9 and am in bed at like 11:30 - 12:00. Then on the Saturday I am in the office by 9 and work till 11-12 at night and I work from home on sunday for a few hours. As to what I do I am a licensed paralegal at a prominent NY/CT intellectual property lawfirm. Ive been working here for about 2 year. Started as a file clerk when I finished frosh year of college at $12 an hour. Got licensed as a Paralegal over winter break sophmore year when I worked a more sane 20 hrs a week during the year and now I put in my 40-60 over the 7 days of the week at 35 an hour. Thank god I have student loans otherwise Id be abosoltuley hosed on the taxes since I am paid as a contractor (no taxes taken out) and dont own my apartment (I rent) and have no dependents (thank god - for know anyways) My biggest fixed expenses are rent+utillites and cable = 700 per month or 8400 a year (4 of my roomates and I split the 4 ways even. WE have a nice duplex, in New Rochelle NY) Car payment - 375 On the Malibu SS - Only owe 5k or so more = mucho positive equity for a new CTS next year Loan paymeent for school 600/month. phone plan 100/month car insurance 120/month Only thing at all I dont pay for on my own is my healthcare cause my dad has a kickass plan that costs him nothing to have me on it. I think I'm pretty independent and do very well for a 20 year old. If my folks died in a horrific accident and left me nothing financial I would pretty much be able to carry on like nothings changed. Though I never would want to be put in that situation of course.

Im still At work!!! ahhhhhh..... have been since 8:30 this morning and its now 9:15 Eastern time. I need a vacation lol. Been doing the 40-60 hrs a week and full time school since the begging of this year. Well at least since im paid hourly as a contractor I will be able to afford a new CTS in cash when the 2nd gen comes out next fall. Needed to vent and to remember why I work so much. I like expensive toys and vacations.

number one was STS-V kinda surprised me but I like it
  6. So when do you think the next northstar will come out and what do you think it will be rated at? The HO 3.6 got a 25 hp boost from new heads and some better breathing. its said to get up to a 15 percent power increase from DI. that 25 hp from the new head is about a 10 percent increase and with a 15 percent Di bump the 275 hp 3.6 would put out an impressive 316hp. So a better breathing northstar with a 10 percent boost would be 352 hp and that increased by 15 percent by DI would be 405 hp. Thats pretty high and I would love to see that out of an NA northstar in the "new" STS but I dont think thats going to happen or be quite that high when it does come out. What do you guys predict.

yeah space was totally too big, I know I can park my malibu SS in a space less about 18 inches longer than my car without tapping anyone. To do this though you need to start further out and angled way before you cut and you need to do it quick because you will intiially be sticking out into a traffic lane. Get most of the way in 2 or 3 shimmeys and your all set. THATS skill and knowhow i seriously doubt this gadget can match. furthermore how will this contraption work on a hill?

longstory short. ME rabid METS fan. Have season tickets. At game 7 of NLCS last night. Craziest game of postseason baseball IVe ever seen. I am crushed. End of story.
  9. oh yeah, deffinetly the big surprise here out of all the vehicles is the STS. IF it get the updated 3.6 DI and the new northstar early with a new interior and moderatley updated exterior this could be the biggest step forward for Cadillac since the hole Arts and Science deal started, both a CTS and STS coming out at the same time that is. Was this car a from the ground up redisign like the new CTS or was this clay model clearly based on the current car but with some signifcant alterations?
  10. I heard a rumor that the new 'Bu will have the 3.6/6 speed combo. That would be awsome, I drove that combo in the aura and it impressed the hell out of me, left me thinging Altima and VQ what?
  11. intrigued replied to Turbojett's post in a topic in The Lounge
30 percent insane.... alitle scary some of the things I answered yes to.
  12. Yeah I might want to switch my selection to a CTS coupe, that would be hot
  13. The topic of this post is exactly what the topic says, whats your next whip going to be? I bought an 06 malibu SS sedan in may this year and have enjoyed it thus far but Im ready to make the jump to entry luxury next time around. I just finished paying off my loan on the By so I plan on keeping it till summer-fall 08 and then I want to get a loaded 3.6 DI next generation CTS. I considered getting a CTS this past summer but decided that I didnt want to spend that much on a car that is this lat in its product cycle and has been overshadowed recently by the new imports. (I love the current CTS but its past its competitive prime since its already 5 year old) These are things I want in my next gen CTS. 3.6 DI and 6 speed auto good for 300hp+ sunroof, NAV, sport package on the fence about AWD and pretty much all the other bells and wistles. I figure that will come in at the low 40's, somthing I already ahve a substantial ammount of money saved up for and I figure I will still be able to get 10 grand on trade for a 2.5 year loaded 'bu SS at that time. So whats coming from the general or god forbid another maunfactureer that has your intrests for the future...
  14. I back in much more often if there is a car already parked to either side of my space, I find it much easier to judge backing in with the visual references.
  15. When is SEMA this year?
  16. intrigued replied to the_yellow_dart's post in a topic in The Lounge
This can have some really big consequences for many fields if its manufacturing results arent prohibitivley expensive.
  17. Bimmer I think your closest dealer is in larchmont, im heading there to test drive an XR soon.
  18. I think Nissan has peaked like VW did a few years ago.

This article is somewhat unclear, does Flint already produce the old 3.6 that is used in the SRX, CTS, and STS? If not that would seem to indicate that the new, non DI, high output 3.6 is going to supplant the old 255 hp mill currently in the Caddillacs. I hope GM drops production of the old 3.6 (both dual and single VVT variants) and makes the new HO unit standard on everything, ranging from 270-280 hp and 250-260 ftlbs and have the new DI one make 300-320 hp and 275-285 ftlbs. They did this when the replaced the older LX9 v6 with the lz4. Granted they were different blocks but it made no sence tht they had two pushrod engines of the same size in the the same types of applications considering one of them made signifcantly more power. It cost more to have more needless variants and it doesn't make sence when some of them are clearly less competitive.

I strongly agree with this article. GM is already back to a strong operating profit and has already paid off the vast majority of its restructuring costs. GM's biggest hurdle is Delphi and keeping them from becoming a money pit and further financial burden for GM. If a cost effective way can be found to accomplish that 2007 should be an outstanding year financial for GM with stable sales. 2008 I think will be even better financially and should see a small sales gain with the product coming that year.

Hey everyone, just wanted to ask if anyone has any olds road tests they want to post. Id love to see some scans of the intrigue, aler, aurora, LLS, cutlas supreme to name a few, though id be interested in all of them. Just throwing that out there I know someone on this forum has to have some.

agree with your list pretty closley regfootball, I am glad you ranked the malibu SS so highly, id rank it above the G6 as well. Which is why I got one instead of a G6. standard 6 airbags on the SS and 5 star all around crash test and traction control = excellent safety. 3.9 pulls very strong, car can do a devent little burnout, with TC off. Sport seats are really comfortable attractive and have great support. good standard features. much better looking and sportier than the normal malbiu which is very bland. High high quality, with the 2005 JD Poer award for highest in class quality. Base price about 23500. Thats a LOT of car for the price. only option I got on my SS was the sunroof. 7k on the clock and im still grinning. Also the inteior materials are softer and nicer than the G6's.
  24. having played football and track for all of highschool, I pretty much ran, sprinted and lifted consistantly for years then even more intently my first 2 years of college doing rugby and crew. I was in sick shape but havent done anything for a while, i gained 20 lbs from partying over working and bad eating. just started back today and gotta try and get bck to the old form but it sucks so much going back and not being able to put up the same weights or run the same times. at my peak last year i could run a 4.6 40, 615 miile, lift a max of 350 on bench, 600 squat , 500 deadlift @ 5'9 190 and 5 percent BF. now its 275 bench 405 squat, 315 deadlift, dont know the 40 time but my mile was 725 and i weigh 210. its goin to be a long road back. moral ... dont get lazy and stop working out
  25. Heh, Welcome to college northstar. Just be careful to to ballance the drinking fun with grades and in general being responsible about how you go about it. Also unless your a fairly experienced drinker, I don't assume you are since you have never posted drunk or about being drunk before, than you might not now the many different levels of drunk that one can accomplish, lol. Here is my drunken states as a Junior in college Drinks 1-8 Getting a very minor buzz, loosening up. Been at a bar once that had a breathalizer and tested myself 8 pints in, still under the legal limit. (though anything more than 2 drinks I dont drive no matter what to play it safe) This is the stage I will normally go around and hit on girls if I want to, well, meet new people so to speak. If Im just partyig I play pong or ruit early as my game goes seriously downhill the more drunk I get. Drinks 9-16 This is where I get silly, Normally I am a very nice guy but I often go into zinger mode here and will readily engage in battles of wit with friends or people im not so friendly with. if I had been previosuly pursing a conversation with a girl this is where I will likeley try and makeout with said girl and pursade her to leave with me if I want a one night stand, especially if ive been drinking wisky, as wisky dick sets in after another coupe of drinks. If I like the girl and would consider a relationship I'd hang out with here and curb my drinking so I dont make a fool of myself. By The end of this stage I have a lsight slur but am still rational if a little silly. If im just partying I, at this point, perfer to play flip cup as its a face paced game of lower skill requirment and a great deal of verbal sparring. Drinks 16-21 This where I go from kinda drunk to deffinetly drunk. At this point unatractive girls start looking attractive, my slur increases, I say stuff that I think but dont always want known, nothing too important though, I KNOW that my vision is blurry. sillyness increases to micheavious. Drinks 22-26 This is what my fridns call my retarded phase. I am off the wall (booze makes me hypers instead of tired like most people) I will start mischief without a doubt. Ive known to swear at people I truly despise in this state though there are only about 4 people in that catagory. MY speach is sometimes so bad its unrecognizable and if I am in conversations with a friend my mind wanders wildly often compromising any hope of a coherent conversation. Here is an example from the diner adter a night of drinking with one on my friends once. ( it was recorded) Waiter: What will you have? Me: Ill have gravy, and cheese and I have 500 meters left in the race... (referring to crew) Waiter and Friend: WTF? Me: and I have to pull hard across the finish line, toast too. Friend: Get gim a plain bagel and water. Me: I wanted gravy and cheese on toast. Friend: you cant even make sentances right now, eat your bagel. Me: I am the sentance master. I would say ive only gotten to this point about 10 times in since ive been at college. The hangover cant be terrible. The last stage, only achieved twice, once at 29 drinks and once at 30. One resulted in me pulling my pants down while sitting on a couch in my common room with roomates and pissing on the couch myself and floor with absolutley no recollection. The other wa falling over while trying to piss in a toilet and passing out on the bathroom floor while I peed with my pants around my ankles. I hope to NEVER reach this tage again. Thank god ive never passes it as I might have put my life in danger. As it is i deffinetly had way to much to drink those nights in any event. But if you make it to class, det the grades dont let your health decline, make sure to stay with your buddies and dont leave places alone you should enjoy college to the fulles. Oh yeah NVER DRINK AND DRIVE. Thats all that yound college kids need to know and 98 percent of the time ive followed these rules and done fine especially since I have never driven drunk, ever. Can anyone tell I was bored at work today and needed a destraction?
