What is keeping GM behind?
I guess that's where we disagree. The attention to detail and refinement gap is still very large in my eyes. It's a gap big enough to turn me away from most GM products.

Buick Royaum
Most of the interior is pretty good, except for the radio controls and awkward-looking steering wheel. I like the silver and wood accents, though.

I think we're talking about the GM of now.

GM Mulls AWD Cobalt
It'll be dated by the time the AWD version comes out, IMO. It makes more sense to develop the next-gen Cobalt with that in mind rather than spending all that time and money on a car that'll be 3-4 years old.

"Killing the Dream"
That wouldn't happen if Chevy had decent cars to begin with. Chevy should have the "svelte, sophisticated" cars, so that Saturn can keep to its funky nature.

GM Mulls AWD Cobalt
Not in this generation Cobalt, I hope. The current one has too many faults that can bring an otherwise strong performer down. Plus, there's already an SS Supercharged version. Maybe the next...

Eww... looks like a Roadmaster or something. :puke:

2006 Honda Accord
I like the new rear... from the spy pics, I thought it'd look portly and Altima-like, but no, it's pretty sleek and is consistent with the Honda design language.

C&D: $35K Sports Sedan Comparison Test
The S60R starts at $38K well-equipped. If you read their explanation, theirs was equipped with $9K worth in options. It doesn't affect the outcome, anyway.

"Killing the Dream"
The "new" Saturn is a mixed bag. On one hand, I'm glad that their new products look good and that they are getting new products. On the other, I'm disappointed that they've gotten rid of the old Saturn character, which I miss on the Aura. Lutz says that Saturn's only strength was their customer care, and I disagree. Their old styling was fresh, original, experimental (almost US Renault), and full of character... the internals of the cars being the let down. GM had an opportunity to make Saturn something cool and unique but failed miserably, so now they're resorting to generic Euro-look cars that appeal to the Bobs and Sallys.

Saw 2 HHRs while eating at Burger King
First time I saw it, it was a blue LS rental, and it looked pretty much horrible. I saw a dark grey LT today, with the big, chrome wheels and all, and it looks much sharper.

Subaru Forester... oh wait, nevermind.

SMART
And you'll look like a Power Ranger in the process, too. I have to admit, though, you need a $200K+ supercar just to get the hi-rev excitement of a $10,000 motorcycle.

Mercedes-Benz Vision R63 set for Frankfurt Show
That's exactly what we need... a 510 horsepower minivan. To be fair, though, it does look a lot better than the standard version, and it's very similar to the Grand Sports Tourer concept. I hope privacy glass isn't mandatory... that's too minivan'ish and not, um, "grand tourer" enough.

Grand Touring Cars
I love GTs, but heh, calling a Toyota Supra one kinda dilutes and kills the it. That's more of a sports car.

GM will tout fuel economy
I don't know... it's good to let the consumer know that GM cares about fuel economy, but at the same time, you don't want to make any big claims that can hurt GM's credibility. Admittedly, some GM products are 1-2 MPG better than their competitors, but it doesn't make them a green company at all. A 145-hp compact Cobalt gets the same fuel mileage as a 160-hp midsize Accord.

Saab 9-2X
The 9-2X is a perfectly fine buy after GMS pricing. For $16-20K, the interior is perfectly fine as well, particularly with the two-tone textile or leather seating.
