I almost bought a 2500HD truck, prior to getting the LS7. And yes, I was ready to wait for 6-8 weeks for vehicle optioned as I wanted it to be. I still remember GMT800s had far more flexibility in configuring a truck than the GMT900s do. As far as the new trucks are concerned: I would like to see the body-colored bumpers offered as options, just like the 2500HDs have with Z71 package. GM needs to be innovative with bed. Since Avalanche is dead, its innovative side storage and under bed utility needs to be offered in some form for the new truck. Get a 220V outlet in the bed. A Raptor competitor. Baby Duramax.

Unions have Merkel's backing. By putting them off on a reduced rate, unions go on unemployment for remainder of their salary. What it will do is put strain on Germany's social coffers. In long term let us see how that will work.

After thinking, one GM car that can fit the bill is the new SS. It can virtually pass as a Caprice interceptor. If it gets a LS3, it will provide the same characteristics of a E39 M5. For canonball, one does not need a fast 0-60, but stable, reliable, powerful yet fuel economical vehicle. If Camaro can get 24 mpg with the same engine, I think the new SS can get that mileage. I guess Canonball run can get a whole new meaning.

The GMT 900s were rushed into market and not updated/enhanced with packages due to economic conditions. Basically they are neglected children of GM at this point of time. I hope GM brings some mojo back in the trucks. Other than the HD with Duramax, there is nothing to brag about in GM trucks.
