  1. Are they kidding no 6-speed automatic transmission for every sierra :banghead: :censored:
  2. does it still give false alarms when you tern the system off?
  3. And already he’s talking smack, warning a certain Teutonic competitor that unless the next M5 is substantially better, the CTS-V “will suck the doors off” the competition. When a big wig from a company tells its top competitor witch makes a great handling 500 bhp sedan, that if the replacement is only slightly better its going to get its doors blown off , he is definitely got more than just a 550 bhp sedan in his back pocket. My money is on a 600+ bhp blue devil engine, since the blue devil will be low production the CTS-V this will spread the development cost of the engine.
  4. ZR-1 would be my pick.
  5. beyond the fact that most magazines do not like the style of this truck inside or outside I think the main thing that will prevent toyota from geting the 200,000 sales they want will be fuel econemy and performance. Just look at how the GMT900's get better fuel econemy with 4 speeds, imagine the numbers they will get with the 6 speed. The performance should improve also and make the GMT900's tow more and excelirate even better than it already does.
  6. All th e reviews i have seen for the impala SS clock it under 6 seconds to sixty. CAR AND DRIVER STATS: ACCELERATION: Seconds Zero to 30 mph: 2.2 40 mph: 3.1 50 mph: 4.2 60 mph: 5.6 70 mph: 7.3 80 mph: 9.2 90 mph: 11.3 100 mph: 13.9 110 mph: 17.7 120 mph: 22.4 130 mph: 28.5 Street start, 5–60 mph: 5.8 Top-gear acceleration, 30–50 mph: 2.6 50–70 mph: 3.7 Standing ¼-mile: 14.2 sec @ 101 mph Top speed (drag limited): 154 mph http://www.caranddriver.com/roadtests/1102...pecs-page4.html
  7. I have no problem with GM puting the CTS agenst the STSs traditional competition. THe only thing they need to do now is kill the STS and DTS and bring out a true S-class 7-series fighter with V12 , V8, and 300 bhp V6 engines. this will give Cadillac a real world class lineup.
  8. No mater how many +'s or -'s this truck has I will say it is almost as good as the GMT900. After saying that I have to say that I can not give this truck any props when lots of articles were writen on how Toyota had to delay production and redesign some eliments when they saw how great the GMT900s were. To think the great TOYOTA saw its target had time to reloud and this is the best they had. I wonder how bed the original design was.
  9. Well said
  10. If this thing performes like the IS350 and BMW335 than i will finnaly have my CTS-V with an automatic.
  11. heated and cooled seats key in pocket tecnology all wheel drive only 6 speeds transmissions offered automatically adjusts headlamp direction 300bhp V6 the sts's 11 speeker saround sound sistem If you read that whole article and found anything that the competition has that GM forgot to put on this car please tell me, this car is perfect. The 2008 CTS should easily be class leading. I once thought that I had something to worry about with the 300bhp IS350, G35, and BMW 335 but even before I see performance numbers i know the CTS will be competitive. :smilies-38096: AND
  12. I for one think it will fill a nich that all the new subdued GM designs have left empty.
  13. With this car, the Chevrolet Sequel, and most GM cars able to run on E85 I think by 2012 GM can pass Toyota and be the dominant force in alternative fuel vehicles. The main thing that they have left to do is what Lexus is doing with their high performance h models. If GM can do this not only with Cadillac but also with all their cars they will easily dominate the auto industry again.
  14. I think the main competition for the malibu in this segment will be the 2008 accord since it will have that 4 door coupe look that is so popular. The main problem I see is that the Camry comes with a more powerful V6 and the accord will probably have even more power. With magazines already praising Toyota for how class leading fast it is, being the third place American behind Honda and Toyota is not a good thing. Since fuel economy is usually close between all this classes competitors Chevy should try to lead this class in at lest one of the important stats like performance.
  15. GM only needs to do three things to make the STS compete with the S-class: strech the STS so it has as much or more interior space than a S-class Add a 600+ bhp V12 and add power to the V6 and V8s with DI Add the SLS-Ls interior with and with out rear center consol and rear recliners The only cost involved that GM is not already doing involves the V12 but if GM puts it in their "flag ship" ESCALADE they can make a profitable case for it. I think GM will need the V12 for the Escalade anyway because once Toyotas truck comes out with 400bhp and a 6 speed auto they will have to putting the Escalades engine and tranny in all of their the big trucks. GM could use a detuned V12 with DOD for the regular Escalade and the 600+ bhp one for the Escalade-V and STSs S-class competitor. The only thing that the regular STS would have to do to sell better is restyle it to look more exciting and completely different from the CTS. This will also save the new Eldorado from looking like the CTS coupe. :smilies-38096:

  17. Get all the practice you can on that stick just keep the miles low and the body fresh so you can trade it in for a 2009 400bhp camaro stick.
  18. We know this car will lead the class in looks but to really lead the class it can not come in last place in magazine performance tests. All of its competitors have 300bhp V6s and if the CTS comes out with the biggest V6 being only 270bhp the magazines are going to have a field day. We all know that most magazines are reluctant to give a domestic car any props and that they will use its performance to over look its great looking interior and exterior. My worries should prove to be unfounded though since GM has shown us that it is now a focused eyes open company. Since BMW has always been the main target of the CTS we can expect the top non V CTS to be close to an M3 in performance like the turbo 335i is.
  19. It would not matter if GM made a perfect car the auto rags would find something negative to say. :twocents:
  20. The more I look at this picture the bigger the rims look. are these the production size rims?
  21. I heard on speed channels test drive that the only reason the sierra has the 4 speed is because of the lack of enough 6 speeds. Once GM ramps up more production it will be in the sierra. They will definitely put it in the sierra before the new Toyota truck comes out since that truck is rumored to be getting 400bhp and a 6 speed.
  22. I think the LTZ is a very competitivly styles car. ScreenHunter_001.bmp ScreenHunter_002.bmp ScreenHunter_003.bmp
  23. I want to know if the sky came close in sales to the miata.
