  1. GM's truck offerings (aside from Escalade and Avalanche) have never been styling leaders. Though they came off as stodgy after the '94 Ram and '97 F-150, I think the more formal, less gaudy design has worked well for them, especially in light of the new disjointed Titan and cartoonish Ram. There are alot of people who, damnit, just want a truck that looks like a truck. No 2-inch diameter brush guards, no meaningless chrome faux skidplate, no Kenworth grille - just a truck. Avalanche is, of course, an exception. However, it treads the line well betweeen being bold and eye-catching and downright disturbing with purposeful flares and styling. There's no doubt the interior of your standard Escalade is now outclassed by everything but the even more ancient Land Cruiser/LX450, but I still think the outside holds its place well today. Putting aside the fact that its cliche thanks to hip-hop culture, its less 'heavy' than a Navigator and a lot less ridiculous than a QX56, which by the way is a true pig among pigs. Anyway, that's just my two cents; I'll leave final judgement for the final product.

That rear styling is getting irritating. Remeber when you could tell cars apart?
  3. Suzuki lineup before Daewoo: After Daewoo: As if pre-Woo Suzuki reliability was something to be proud of.

Weird occurance today: I stopped by Publix to get my dinner sub that I'm enjoying now, and I see a diamond white '97-99 Aurora, so I park next to it. When I come out about 15min later, I find next to me another Classic - this one, crimson - and as I pull out, another car is waiting to take my space. What is it you ask? A 2nd-gen Aurora 4.0. Freaky.
  5. By Hertz special do you literally mean that? Nice choice, by the way. :)

From what I hear, it sounds more Courage Under Fire than The Exorcist, by which I mean 'flashbacks' of action interlaced with a real-time courtroom/legal-style investigation.
  7. They're proud of the newer models. Outgoing lame-ducks like the current GMT-800s don't get the lovin'.

The '95 Aurora can certainly be considered the 'new' Ninety-Eight. It took the Ninety-Eight's place as a great flagship sedan and did more for Olds' image than the actual Ninety-Eight of the time could. As far as pricing structure, the brand hierarchy is often violated, especially in the B-O-P divisions. Aurora was priced a few thousand above Park Avenue Ultras until the late '90s. Back in the 50s, the Roadmaster Rivera Limited was priced above top of the line non-limo Cadillacs, something unprecedented at the time.
  9. Very awkward-looking on the road. I can't see spending this kind of cash on a vehicle like this. And I also don't see Mercedes' logic in overlapping every single offering they have with an even more blurred one.
  10. Flames...like what eminates from the engine compartment of a Fiero. :D
  11. The Nitro. And, yes, I'm being serious. It has tough, masculine, domineering styling cues, yet its still a cutesy package. Some girls go nuts over vehicles like that.
  12. I haven't gotten hit by a Toronado yet, but with my luck lately, I expect to be hit by one soon.
  13. Yeah. This is something like I wear: Its a shirt. It looks nice, fits well, is suitable for many occasions, and cost a whopping $9.99 at an outlet mall.
  14. You know, I don't think anyone bought the Sunfire because it was a Pontiac; they bought it because it looked better to them than a Cavalier. Importing the Pursuit as is does nothing for US Pontiac's image. It'll be a waste of time.
  15. Its funny how someone from another site once ridiculed this one as 'Cheers & Queers,' probably not realizing that its unoffensive because - hey - its not really false. :) I think it speaks to what kind of community and membership we have that people are willing to share aspects of their lives with fellow C&Gers that they perhaps haven't with their other friends or families. Doesn't matter here if you're straight, gay, black, white, Asian, Hispanic, young, or old - if you love cars and like GM, you're always welcome here. :CG_all: Pride moment here!
  16. I don't like pre-collided styling, i.e. cars that look like they already hit a wall.
  17. Cobalt. *I hate this lame inset decklid trend. *Hey, Civic, it's not 1996 anymore. Ditch that goofy wing. (Ditto SS) *What a horrendous place for an ancillary digital speedometer. Why not incorporate it into the regular gauge cluster like everyone else does? *Civic's interior simply looks awful with three different HVAC vent designs.
  18. No, he's not. He's making the point that saying simply, "Oh, GM has more recalls than Toyota" is accurate, but doesn't tell anything about the quality of GM vehicles in relation to Toyota. So there...
  19. By that definition, everything from an Echo to an Eldorado is a Grand Touring Car.
  20. "HEY, MAN, YOU EVER BEEN TO MEX-EEE-CO?!?!?!"
  21. Some of you need to get laid. :P Its the 1969 GM XP 511, a three-wheeled commuter runabout. According to some info I found, it was a hybrid.

My new job is down the street from a Mercedes dealership, so I was cut off by a brand-new R-Class taking a test drive or something. I guess it was the complementary Benz Asshole Driver Training or something. The vehicle itself looks quite ungainly on the road.
  23. Aren't ST's the Ram versions of GM's W/T? If so, who cares about the wheels? Its a work truck.
