How we thought on cars as kids
I thought Subaru was Australian. Oh, and the '97 LeSabre was the coolest car ever. You have to realize I only really started getting into cars during the summer between 5th and 6th grade. It started as a project for summer school - I had to take statistics on something, so I decided to do what marque of car I saw. I listed all of them from Acura to VW and did that. I really like doing it, so when middle school started, on the 40-mile hour-long bus ride to my gifted middle school (for nerds), I sad with pencil and legal pad in had, tallying up all the cars I saw. One week was Buick week and I'd write each model I knew of (Century, LeSabre, etc) vertically down the left-hand side. Across the top horizontally would be the generations as I knew them with years as I knew them. I would then break each 'box' down into bodystyle - coupe, sedan, wagon, convertible. Anything weird or unfamiliar, I'd scribble on the bottom of the page and look up later. I did this later for Oldsmobile, Cadillac, and then Pontiac. I started Chevrolet, but by then, I got friends and life moved on. I tried doing Mercury and Chrysler after my first Buick one, but I never got into it and abandoned them, thus solidifying my love for General Motors. I remember seeing those sheets sometime before I moved last year and I wonder where they are now. I really learned a whole lot from doing it, though, not only about what cars are actually what, but what was popular and what wasn't. I threw around terms like 'badge-engineering' and 'A-body' long before my time.

GM moves quickly to realign brands
Please do! Youngbloods like me have no recollection of such things. :)

2007 Buick Crossover
I agree with CSpec. The Centieme's concept of a proper crossover with more sophisticated exterior styling and interior design should be the basis for the next Rendezvous, not the actual Centieme itself. Some of the cues made little or no sense, IMO, and alot of the detailing was very strained.

Solstice as LE pursuit vehicle?
Maybe if a drug dealer buys a Solstice, then gets busted a few years later, and your local agency uses it as a D.A.R.E. publicity car. Otherwise... *No trunk *No rear seat *No room *Not strong enough to be an interceptor
- Good luck with this one

Past Concepts/Design Proposals/Prototypes
Ya know, some might take that to mean the two are the exact same cars. :P I just posted that because when I saw that grille, the T-Bird popped into my mind based on the hooded headlamps. Upon thinking more (and dropping more acid), I can see a more solid resemblance between the Granada and a '55 Stude...

Camaro Update: Vinyl and Halos
They have clear taillamp kits for the '99-'05 GA and man do they look like ass. Stear clear of glazed tails for obvious reasons. No single car can really get away with them as opposed to being colored, IMO.

TCC review: Dodge Ram Mega Cab
Isn't this simply a resolution of Dodge's traditional lack of second-row pickup seating roominess?

Oldsmobile
An under-dash record player is great...until you drive over a brick road. Seriously, though, I've heard of the Trans-Portable radio before. Allegedly, it was a fine portable unit, but a mediocre in-dash reciever. It naturally lacked the then-breakthrough SEEK feature found on the Wonderbar radios at the time. Like airbags, Guidestar, and CRT touch-screen displays, its yet another lost Oldsmobile/GM innovation...

Is it me or does that dopey grille configuration look familiar?

Lacrosse outsells Chrysler 300
I have to agree with Ven. Also, its not as if the 300 is a paragon of automotive design. They scaled the whole car around a waffle iron grille. Take that away and what do you have? A generic, blocky sedan with a midgrade interior. One also has to realize that this model year will see the highest number of LX sales ever. By the time the '06s start moving out, everyone who wants a 300 will have already purchased one.

GM Sales Report
68 Aleros sold? How many are still out there? Also, Rainier is an unmitigated failure.

Yeah. That's pretty retarded.

GM to Solstice buyers: Stay cool
I know. My gosh, be patient. You got not only a bargain, but the first of the bargains and GM is going to make it perfect for you.

Saturn will offer less-expensive hybrid model
You save a little less gas but a lot more money. GM would also be wise to debut hybrids on lower-output 4cyl (6cyl for Impala, etc) motors as opposed to giving higher-output engines a power boost as Honda is doing.

Friends & Lovers...
Yeah, I knew. Just referencing the time Brian was (again) giving Peter advice regarding something and his reaction is, "Oh my God! You can talk!"

I HATE MY INSURANCE COMPANY
I would think they'd get numerous citations and a court date like the sonofabitch in the POS Ford that whacked me.

should Suzuki make a metro for chevy again
What everyone else said. Plus, 'Geo Metro' is as much a joke as 'Yugo' and 'Pinto' in pop culture.

So how about a base V8 Camaro?
The 4-cyl Mustangs were also lighter than the current ones, V6 weight notwithstanding.
