Oldsmobile Photos
The chassis of that Toro limo is a lot like the one under the 1970's GMC MotorHome. [one in movie 'Stripes'] It had the FWD train, had dual wheels in rear too.

New Pontiac Firebird in 2009?
Well, I was around back then, and muscle cars were around, but not all over the place. Full sized cars had 50% plus market share, and most had modest motors. A 2 barrel carb 307/289/318 V8 in a big car was no muscle car. Also, most Novas had I6s. Most pre Baby Boomers [adults in the 1960s] got average full sized cars/wagons with low power motors, like my parents. Or they got loaded big Buicks with 455's, but to tow, not race. It was later in the 70's when teens got old base model cars were stipped of their low HP motors and a crate motor was dropped in.

Classic Buicks
No pics but real memories. 70-72 Skylark/GS 65-70 Electras Even the 1973-74 Century GS! Last years for the Stage 1, yes they still offered them til 1974.

GM Death Watch 84
I cant wait for "DW part 198763", will they still complain about 90's Grand Am styling in 2019? GM was supposed to be dead by now, according to the knows its.

GMs take 3 of 10 Most Searched on Gaywheels.com
Well, I have to say this site is more tolerant than most car message boards. Shows that GM fans are not all knuckle draggers. And even the macho UAW has partner benefits. Also, every single car company caters to queer folk [no it isn't a slur anymore]. So, no 'boycott' would work, one would have to build a wooden buggy.

...
One Edmuds type psots under the pics "Why is GM panning V8's in this era". One good reason is to keep some former SUV owners from getting an Avalon? Also, where are the complainers when Toyopta plans a factory building big trucks?

Without RSX, Acura loses personality
Well, here's one opinon to make 'enthusiasts' see red, but it's reality. The problem is the loyal Honda/Acura boy racers buy used, so they can pay for the yellow paint and noisy exhaust pipes. So, that leaves brand new RSX's sitting and sitting. Where is the so called 'loyalty'? Teens in loud old Integras, with stickers and hand painted dashes, weaving in and out of traffic is hardly a 'luxury' image. Also, the author mourns the loss of a FWD car, yet then chastises Acura for not offering RWD??? LOL

On the Blacktop
Funny how some claim that cutting the Regal and PA cut sales. Wasn't the Regal down to like 8000 a year? [sarcasm] If dropping old names is bad, why didn't Buick die in 1959, when they had all new names? Why didn't the 1973 Cnetury bomb since it replaced the 72 Skylark? And Buick for sure should have died when the Electra name was killed right? This 'interview' seems as fake as the "Elvis is alive", and "Jon Benet Ramsey was killed by XXX" stories at the checkout lane.

Any hope for a good minivan?
"A GM insider says the GM minivans look like spaceships." Hopefully not too far out like the 1990 Dustbusters!

0% for 72 seems to be working here
I agree, I went to dealer I bought before and played 'hard to get', and got a good deal. Saves some gas and time driving around, to maybe save 4.37 a month. If they have color and car you want, just 'horse trade'.

Employee Discount
If Ghon is allowed to make cuts at GM, say bye bye to Buick as a separate brand. Buickman will have to be called 'used car man'.

"Detroit's Seven Deadly Sins"
The list in ALL CAPS, looks 'amatuerish' to me. #1 reason is that most of the managers at Big 3 are there just for the $$, and got the job through 'connections'. Do not care at all about customers, products, or market. Just want to make enough to get a 'golden parachute'.

June 2006 Sales: Ford Motor Co.
Big problem is all the know it alls expect Ford to do a 1986 Taurus intro all over again. Well, that was 20 years ago and the markat has changed. The cars before the Taurus were so outdated, anything was a big improvement. Now, it is pretty hard to have a new car be a 'super radical jump ahead'.

June 2006 Sales: Nissan
Well, when a car company has new products less than 8 weeks away, what will smart buyers do? Buy a soon to be dropped model or wait? So, a big DUH! It is not as if the 2006 Altima, Sentra, and Max are a year old designs losing sales, they are at the end of the line.

NISSAN / RENAULT "Alliance"
Bush and the money loving Republicans don't care, they buy tons of foriegn stuff. The GOP ladies/wives decide where they $$ goes and they want Lexuses. I am pretty sure Ann Colter drives an import and not an Impala.

Nissan, Renault Want GM Stake
GM will never be more than 25% market share again. The 'recovery' is to be profitable at 20-22%, or less.

June 2006 Sales: Ford Motor Co.
The Expedition is a comlpete 180 degree turn from 1997-99 when it seemed to be heading to Explorer #'s.

June 2006 Sales: General Motors Corp.
Good to see G6 finally selling well, and the Vue family SUV's. The HHR is kicking tail. Wonder what the naysayers of the HHR think now? If they say it is a 'fad', notice that the PT Cruiser, at 6 years old, is still selling over 10K a month. Pretty good for a 'fad' huh?

June 2006 Sales: Ford Motor Co.
Mark LT is no Blackwood. It is featured in MTV's 'Fast Inc.' Some fanatics are still saying 'Taurus outsold Fusion', as if the old car should go on forever. But, Tauri was dwon 23&, the begin of the phase out. And, most if not all went to fleet. And, combined Fusion/500 outdid Taurus, something analysts harped on before.

The Ruins Of Fisher
Plants in other cities get leveled and redeveloped. What helps is OK City is sorta 'the southwest' and doesn't have legions of unemployed people.

More Lacrosse "Super" Info
"S" is overused, like the Corolla S, big deal. But, I argee not Super badges all over. Just a small tag on the rear. And again, Super goes back to when Buick was an upscale brand and no Toyotas were sold. So, it should be used.

Nissan, Renault Want GM Stake
Now that I think about it, more likely, GM will be the same basic brands. but no more superfulous cars like Monte Carlo or the Terazza/Rainer. [NASCAR can add Impala stickers to the fake bodies]
-
June looking very ugly for GM
Don't get rid of LaCrosse, just get an Epsilon body replacement asap. And upgrade the Delta cars. Make the G5 more Pontiac RWD V8 cars will get attention, but then most people end up buying fwd or an SUV.

Car and Driver Reviews G6 Convertible
MT used to be the 'gee whiz' car mag, where every new car was 'neat', and articles were like ad copy. Now they are trying, real hard, to copy C/D and Automobile. I never buy them all anymore.

New Honda CR-V Uncovered
Yeah it is wierd looking, but women buyers will gobble them up. It looks like something from Subaru. Honda can look odd and still sell, like the Element.
