  1. Thanks PCS. I love the Crunch SV6 the best.
  2. Machetes always improve my listening skills, too. Funny thing is that if you would throw garbage on their property they would throw a shizzy fit. Don't get me started on cigarette butts. I've been having some work done to the guesthouse out back and the contractor leaves his cigarette butts all over the yard and patio. Pisses me off. I told him if I saw one more he was fired. My dog Otto likes to chew on them and then throw up all over my hardwood floors. He gets one more chance before I fire his ass. I've also had to talk to him about leaving Styrofoam peanuts strewn all over the place as well. Ugh, just a huge pet peave of mine.

Again, I said BOOBS, Gene R.I.P. Brett Sommers from The Match Game. ZL-1, sounds great man. Thanks for the well wishes too!

Great shots Chris! I tip my hat to the shot of WTC. Very cool. Love the pictures of the dogs in the fountain. I enjoy photography, and its definitely a right place, right time kinda thing.
  5. PCS, Viel Glück zu Ihnen. Ich hoffe, dass Sie eine sichere Reise und ein guter Beruf mit GM haben. Schicken Sie uns einige guten Opels bald. Auf Wiedersehen
  6. It's especially going to be too bad if one of Prius' driver's does not know about this, and their car accelerates unexpectedly and kills or injures someone. If that happened to me, or someone in my family, I would be all over the media proclaiming Toyota's recall practices and the problems with their "miracle Prius".
  7. +2. That is a pet peeve of mine. It breaks my heart when I see wildlife get sick or die from scavenging through something that was not thrown away properly. I am not one of those PETA people, but I do care about wildlife and littering not only screws up the pristine looks of the landscape, but its a danger to wildlife that we have a responsibility to preserve. As for the whole Global Warming theory, it is interesting, however, compared to the age of the earth, meteorology is a very young field of study and I think the earth goes through warming and cooling stages, so I will hold off on just seein it as a theory instead of the fact that most politicians believe it is. I also don't think that the Global Warming theory is a political issue. I think it is a scientific issue that is best handled by those within that field of study. Just my :twocents:

Answer to post: hair ZL-1. I will soon be feeling your pain as I have just been accepted to grad school. I wish you luck!
  9. <tongueincheek> Common phrases heard in Seattle where no one bats an eye: "Hop on the SLUT, she'll take you anywhere you wanna go." "We're taking the SLUT to the Needle." "The SLUT is really packed today." "You want to avoid the SLUT during rush hour when everyone is on her." "How much does it cost to ride the SLUT?" "They are already raised SLUT fairs!" I have a good friend that lives in Seattle. I wonder if he's ridden the SLUT yet? Hmmmm </tongueincheek>
  10. A Duramax in a B-body Impala SS would be something. That would definitely turn my head. Hell, I wish I could stuff a Duramax in my Av, or how about a Duramax Ute?

Cool video. Thanks for posting that. Good luck in your job over there.

Another thing I noticed about the Canyon in the brochure is how HUGE a difference those aftermarket 18" wheels make on that black crew cab 4x4 Z-71. That is one great looking truck.
  13. Great pics PCS, especially the one from Chester, PA. The trains in Europe are far sleeker and much faster than those here. Germany's setup is especially interesting and efficient. There should be a no access network of tracks here for high speed trains to take commuters from the suburbs to each large city. This would reduce the dependence on cars and make the ecotypes happy by saving fuel.

Lou Harrison Bob, Camber is the correct term if you are talking about the angles between the towers and the draping of the steel wires. I like the GG, too, but of the two bridges that lead to S.F. the Bay Bridge is my favorite. I think its an underdog and underappreciated as well. The new east span will be amazing when it gets done. I will fly out and see it when after it opens.
  15. Congrats on the new ride. I hope you post some pics of it soon.

Response to thread: Sopranos Bob, I just think its a cool bridge, and underrated in terms of its significance.

I loved living in Cochran. It was close enough to Calgary with having some rural areas between. The geography there is beautiful, and I thought the people were pretty friendly compared to some other places I have lived. I used to like living in the city, but that quickly wore off. As I've aged I prefer the wide open spaces. Where I am now is a small city and the people are friendly, the mountains and lakes are near, and it's a great place to start a family. I think you are right about NYC, its huge compared to Calgary and other large metropolises in Canada. They are nice to visit, but would not want to live there.
  18. Doesn't alot of leather GM uses come from Australian cattles ranches? I thought I read that somewhere.

    Verrazano Narrows Bridge
  20. I don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but in Missouri there is a town called Rolla (Rawlla) and some pronounce is "Roll-uh". Also, Joliet (Joe-lee-et) is the correct pronounciation, not Jolly-et.
  21. Was fickt das?
  22. Good point Camino. I've always thought the Australian sedans were more traditionally American than the recent front wheel drive American sedans.
  23. In the past I've bought sports cars, sedans and pickup trucks. I don't consider the Av an SUV because its used more as a crew cab pickup truck. The next car I buy will be a sedan. I will never buy a minivan. I would buy an economy car, but only for my kid, not for me. I may replace the Avalanche with an Acadia or Outlook because of the two big dogs.

I've been to NYC and enjoyed seeing all the sights, as well as photographing the bridges in the Tri-State area. It is a beautiful city, but like others, I would not want to live there.
