McCain's trend
No, we really can't. You and I won't ever agree on politics...however we agree on this. I have been going door to door for the Obama campaign, and I hear comments like "I'm not voting for that F###### G#### D### N####. Positive comments are usually something like "he seems like a nice man, I hope he wins." Very few people have put ANY thought into which candidate they would like for any real reasons that matter. What is scary is that I live in Ohio, which is a "swing" state. Chris

How do you brand yourself?
Ditto with you and Pauli, although I would call myself on the conservative side of liberal. I personally don't think anyone has done as much damage to our country as Reagan, Bush Sr. and Bush Jr. Chris

Saw a beautiful yellow 67 Camaro RS that was pristine and stock restored. Also saw a red on red 63 Split window. Chris

Chevy Cobalt production boosted by overtime in Lordstown, Ohio
You may be buying your last GM car then. I talked with a GM engeneer who had his car down here at a car show in Columbus. He actually worked on previous Camaro/firebird development, as well as the C5, C6, Solstice, and Sky. He implied that GM was going to come out with a cool replacement for the Sky/Solstice, that Corvette production would continue, and that GM saw little need to develop the whole Camaro/firebird/RWD thing after the current generation. He said that Hybrids and fuel efficient cars were going to be the whole wave of the future for GM. Sadly, I think Camry wanna be's are GM's (unfortunate) future. Come to Columbus, I'll buy you a few beers and we can weep over the future together like a couple fo school girls, but...cars like the Cobalt and Volt are GM's future. Chris

August 2008 Sales: General Motors
Add my +1 also. This is going to sound profoundly stupid coming from a guy who loves small cars but the Impala design is really starting to grow on me. Hope it continues to sell well for a few more years. Chris

August 2008 Sales: Chrysler LLC
With all of the heritage and history, I would be sad to see them go...but I don't see a Chrysler in my future. Unless it is a Charger cop car in my rearview mirror. Chris

+1. I used to vote about 85% Republican, but I think Mr. bush has cured me of that...on a permanant basis. Chris

GMAC to lay off 5,000 workers (out of ~8,000 total)
The economy isn't in bad shape... ...yeah, right....I think you and your BF are doing the right thing going to Germany for awhile. I'm glad my wife has a good job at a local university, because very little will be economically stable here for a long, long time, I think. Chris

I have a teaching degree and am working as an electrician. When you add everything up (coaching+grading+school activities+other duties) it just isn't worth it in my personal situation to teach. My father in law was an excellent teacher, but spent 30 years of Sunday afternoons and evenings doing lesson plans and grading papaers. He's retired now and much more relaxed. He still tutors students though, as he loves teenagers. Chris- Volkswagen Overtakes Ford
VW is building much better product, it will be interesting to see what happens. Chris- Gantlet Hurled:
Now if we can just keep both of them around and in production we'll be in good shape. Chris- Quick cash for a b-body
I think it would be cool to keep it 307 powered. Chris - belt tightening
