Interactive Review: 2012 Chevrolet Sliverado 1500 Crew Cab LTZ
Yeah you confused me there; my understanding was that the GMT-900, Lucerne, DTS, and Impala all had the same switchgear. That turn signal stalk was new for 2006 as it differs from the ones in the previous generation W-Bodies like our Regal which have some cruise control functions on the stalk.

What specific part of the Alero switchgear?

APRIL 2012 CAR SPOTTERS THREAD
That Nova is seriously clean, but I've got to complain about how much it looks like spring out there while I had to shovel my driveway yesterday.

New York 2012: 2014 Chevrolet Impala: Comments
The old 3800s had way more than 180lb-ft of torque though, and they were lighter. I'd have to drive one but tentatively I'd be ticking the V6 box.

New York 2012: 2014 Chevrolet Impala: Comments
If you look closely at the rear of the car, I would call it a stylized six-element design. There are in fact six elements, the backup light being sandwiched between the two brake light elements, just not lined up with each other. Anybody notice the umbrella holder that is built into the door panel being demonstrated in that one picture?

New York 2012: 2014 Chevrolet Impala: Comments
YES. Can totally see myself owning this car, except no baby puke colored seats please. I hope they have a Cocoa/Cashmere or Ebony/Gray as well as I really don't like the colour they are showcasing. I expected four cylinder options but honestly expected the 2.0T instead of the 2.5L. Weight seems to be comparable to the W-Body Impala based on what they said on GM's website, but with 20 less horsepower and 40-50 fewer lb-ft of torque I don't think I'd willingly shell out money for that. I guess if I buy one of these I'll have to spring the extra dough for the LT-V6 model.

It's certainly a very attractive design

93-year-old Florida woman retires her ’64 Mercury after 576,000 miles on the road
If my read of Jay Leno is correct, he'd buy that car in a heartbeat; he's bought more than one car because of the story behind it.

Spring weather...
We've had an unseasonably mild winter, the last of the snow melted out of the flower beds and lawn yesterday, which usually doesn't happen until at least halfway through May. Highs this week in the low double digits.

New York 2012: Lincoln MKZ's Panaormaic Sunroof: Comments
This is going to be a noisy, rattly, heavy maintenance hog methinks. Walt is right about drawing parallels between it and the G6/Aura multi-panel roof, and I do remember all the trouble he had with that damn roof on his G6 back in the day.

I bet the Impala has a similar grille treatment up front

Beige’s New Ballad: Toyota Teases Avalon Ahead of New York: Comments
This may be the reason GM moved up the 2014 Impala to NYC as my understanding from stuff Chris Doane had been saying that they were planning a big 2013 NAIAS where Chevy was going to show the new Corvette, Silverado, and Impala all at the show.

Chevrolet News:The Encore’s Encore: Chevy to Get Version of Buick’s Small CUV?
Even though the sheetmetal isn't the same, it looks a little too much like the Encore to me for some reason...

Needs Buick wheel-covers. Otherwise good.

MARCH 2012 CAR SPOTTERS THREAD
A couple from this week: A guy who loves his W-Bodies... Impressive paint on this GP though. For a nearly 20 year old car the condition it's in is pretty cherry. Obviously someone takes good care of it. I'm also putting Liberty Buick of Glendale AZ on notice this week. I'm in Arizona 4-5 weeks out of the year and I see enough of these fogey edition cars with the vogue tires and cloth/riveted faux cabrio tops. Now they're polluting my country with them too? Unacceptable.

YES. Can't wait to see the new Impala.

If they make one of those concepts they showed this year, it will be the Code 130R, not the warmed over Mitsu Eclipse methinks.

Buick News: Buick Offering A 24 Month Lease To Up Sales
If the maintenance plan is 4/50k does than mean they're extending that to purchases as well- I'm not sure.

Chevrolet News:Impala Leaping Out of NASCAR, Unnamed Model Taking Its Place
A couple people close to the tooling and config at Oshawa confirmed to GMI that the Impala nameplate continues for the new Epsilon II Sedan. I don't think GM wants two cars in that big size class under Chevrolet even if one of them is niche which is why I would say Commodore instead of Caprice. It's more similar in size to a BMW 5-Series than a 7-Series and as such likely more easily marketable.

MARCH 2012 CAR SPOTTERS THREAD
Saw my first Scion IQ today while out running errands. Was pretty much fully optioned, navy blue, and parked in front of an antique store in a trendy inner-city neighborhood. I was going to wait to see if the owner of the vehicle had ironic eyeglass frames and some knitwear derived headgear but alas the light turned green and I moved on.

Chevrolet News:Impala Leaping Out of NASCAR, Unnamed Model Taking Its Place
My guess is that it's simply a high-spec NG Commodore being brought over as the Chevrolet Super Sport although Chevelle would also be conceivable as a name.
