  1. If they execute well they can turn it around, look how drab the previous gen Civic and Accord were. My bigger concern is when people spend 35k-65k, which I would assume is the price for most Acura vehicle sales, what percentage are performance oriented vehicles? I'm thinking more than 70% are trucks and CUV's these days.
  2. The Elantra has the turbo option, so maybe Forte will get one before this generation is done.
  3. I think a higher performance model is called for, it has had the looks down for a few generations..
  4. While I find the 3rd back door odd, I always use the passenger side for our small kid, it is just safer in the city where parking is often on the street. This is better looking than the previous gen IMO, but I'm not a big fan of either.
  5. Seems like a nice improvement over the previous model. Acura could sure use a hit with this... and another CUV to go alongside the RDX and MDX.
  6. Based on looks I'd take it 100% of the time over the target Prius. Would have preferred a hatch though for more cargo capacity/flexibility.
  7. I also think the 2.0T version offers a nice alternative to the higher trimmed level family sedans like the Accord, Malibu, Camry, Fusion, Legacy, Regal, Mazda6 etc.
  8. I assume this shares the Ioniq platform like the hybrid and phev Niro.. It definitely looks pretty good, not hard to be better than the Leaf and Bolt in that regard. Would be nice if the production interior shared a lot with the concept but I doubt it.
  9. Why? They have been using a modular platform for a decade, gone are the days of being tied to one wheelbase when sharing a modern platform. It underpins most Audis and other VW group vehicles https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volkswagen_Group_MLB_platform
  10. I get a bit of a large XT5 profile from the A-pillar back..
  11. These are nice cars, but size wise for people and cargo, just consider it a 2+2 sports car and your expectations will be met. Don't expect miracles from the small back seat or the tiny trunk.
  12. That's nice.. Now make the 2.0t a $1500 option.
  13. SO is pretty adamant about next vehicles being AWD, cemented by our Christmas Eve drive home passing many ditched vehicles.. so I am resigned to this not happening for me. Genesis AWD v8 not as interesting to me.
  14. Kid was not happy with the walk to daycare at -7F this morning, had to carry him most of the way. Looking forward to the slightly warmer Sun/Mon/Tues before we go back to silly cold.
  15. I think the Niro was a good enough idea that now Toyota will be copying it with the next Prius-V In another life I would pick up a two year old K900 that has depreciated a tonne... https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/vehicledetails.xhtml?listingId=472311854
  16. So far the Camry is winning in sales vs the new Accord. It gets good reviews but the Accord gets better ones. TNGA based RAV4, Corolla and Prius-V should be here in the next 18 months.
  17. Audi has risen up and now Volvo is coming on..
  18. With the Ascent coming this year they are in pretty good shape, though it will likely cannibalize some Outback and Forester sales. Let's see how/when they transition to electric though..
  19. We actually visit family (my inlaws) eat a lot of Korean banchan, dumplings, soups etc, dress our preschooler in a hanbok.
  20. The 2.0t skips the CVT in favour of a 10 speed auto or the stick.
  21. I was thinking about an offlease SRX recently and did some checking, no Android auto unfortunately.
  22. Well the Equinox and Malibu 1.5.t powetrain is just not up to muster then with the benchmark Accord and CRV then.. CRV 1.5t does it in ~7.5 seconds.
