Shock in the Rims??
I believe that was a system (similar) at one time called a half track, possibly invented in England or maybe here or Canada used on the rear axle of farm tractors. The company County Cars of England did alot of full track adapted Fordson tractor stuff, another English company as well that was eventually bought by Catapillor, I just cant come up with their name. Used alot durring WWII on the airfields of England. I have forgotten alot of what I read on all that old stuff. I have a Fordson book down in the shop but havent even looked at it in 10 years.

How old are you?
Of course you dont see the contrast. Somehow I dont think we were talking about the high school poll but not surprised you danced completely around that one. How many times have I been degraded because I did not go to college, never took economic classes, cnat speel weel, and sat around and did nothing my whole life ? Then I make one comment, as a way, somehow, to show some form of decency and respect for others here and what do you do but use it to further degrade me. As usual why does that not surprise me ? I had high hopes at the time, however. carry on !

come on satty of all the comedians in the world please tell me you did not take me seriously. I did however at one time have the actually meaning confused. Perhaps because at one time everything outside of reproduction was considered ......... dirty Actually if someone were creative and wanted to read into your sig. they could see that it is highly appropriate.

Oohs and Ahs At Delphi's Circus
quote=Croc,Nov 16 2005, 08:07 PM] Heh...you, sir, are a moron. What a biased piece of journalism! NOT ONCE did it make reference to the absurdly high wages in comparison to the rest of the supplier industry, or how low the upper management benefits package is in the same comparison. Looks like (to quote evok) another child got left behind before getting a job at the NY Times. [post="44168"][/post]

In the future, you might want to refrain from calling someone a "moron" when you lack the necessary skills to back it up. Just some friendly advice so you don't get yourself banned one of these days.
Oh gee, now Im all confused, I was only following your lead I didnt realize it took skill to deciper the compensation packages for Delphi's exec's, but I see now that is does. Wonder why theres so many exec's at delphi, are they in some job pool program ? or does it take that many exec's to totally screw a company up ? more is more ? when the right hand doesnt know what the left hand is doing ? hey, so long as they get lots of bucks the world will be all the better for it

How old are you?
I didnt mind the thred or poll but then again Im totally shameless :P I do however find it interesting the contrast to that poll and not wanting to reveil age in the next. I actually believe exposed age, if honestly done should be mandatory, it just helps, sometimes, a little if not alot to help in the understanding process. same as education or life experiences do. Like many many issues we have had here actually. Like I can take Vyps for example and think "oh hes young yet what does he know" :P and he can look at me and think "hes an old fart bordering on scenility, traped in the past, ect." :) Anyhow I believe, at least speaking for myself I give credit to those based on their merit but at the same time if something doesnt line up I can look at it and say "you were not there, you do not know" or "theres more to the picture than you are seeing, give life some time and others some credit" tmp - I know :) Believe it or not I like and respect nearly everyone here and croc is one of them, though he sure can make me kick and spit. :AH-HA_wink:

GM needs a new name
criticism ? Hows about reading the two posts directed to myself and another. GM has always made competitive product, they have made much product, one simply needed to know which were the right products to look at. I didnt see where many of the comments were pro GM. Once again all we are seeing today is evolution. I have no opinion on Lutz other than he has said some stupid stuff that made a few scandalous moments. I highly doubt hes the only responsible party for any improvements, and he certainly is no Harley Earl or Bill Mitchell though he or somebodies have tried to put himself in that light, a light that never shown on Earl or Mitchell and their crews when they were writting history. So I say why all the attention on Lutz ? He's a bought and paid for, here today gone tomorrow corporate officer, not a visionist. Earl, Mitchell dedicated their lives to GM and it showed. Who knows where Lutz will be in 2 years, next highest bidder or retired.

How old are you?
For starters, I said that statement. then where was my age = maturity statement ? I do see your 5yr old statement however which could be interpreted as ....... I was speaking from an experience and what one has seen and various outcomes, ect. standpoint. Of course its a vast generalization, I surely wasnt nor am qualified to write a book on it. I suppose you feel the same today about stuff as you did when you were 16-17 ? Not that I remember much change in view in those early years. Its so great being idealistic and having all the answers, t'aint it ? seriously ! As for immaturity in aging adults, of course one as mature as yourself would realize that too is a vast generalization and would also require a book of great study to speculate why people can act as they do. At times, fun times, during play lets call it, I find it fun and refreshing after all these years to toss that manly so tuff and mature crap to the wind and behave like the 12 year old boy I once knew and loved. Im not sure if thats the kind of behavior you are talking about but I can tell you, that little fella is still in there somewhere and Im damn glad for it, however with him and his fun lovin ways comes some of the other less secure and inexperienced confusion thats somehow still in there as well. Make sence ? Dont worry it doesnt to me either, it just is what it is. You are correct those that are protected may not change their views, ideals, I did not until my carpet was pulled, but they will be humbled and have some form of revelation if not until the end it will slap them upside the face. I dont judge the young folks here but it sure has helped me at times when I realize where their thoughts are comming from. As I have stood in the middle of the fire and took the bullits directly to the chest on some of these hot seat issues it has helped me much. Same applies for where in the economic chain others stand when they begin the attacks.......after all, on a similar note......isnt that exactly what your "higher education" poll was all about.......ey ? So how is this age poll any different ? :AH-HA_wink: It is interesting how it does not exactly line up with this poll. "extrapolate" wow, is that one of those important words ? I must learn me that one but I believe Id be ashamed to use it. That is after all why you pulled it out, no ?

C&G's ONLY Music Thread
I dont get around much to hear what others are buying and 15-18 bucks is too much to spend on something I may find detesting so I still havent heard many of the newer bands some of you guys mention. I think I remember Candlebox but have some fear Im confusing them with Matchbox....which I also like. Of the newer more mainstream stuff thats not exactly new anymore I have bought and enjoyed is Shine Down Leave a Whisper, I like a man that can sing with passion & power, Alterbridge same deal, passion and hard driving music with some pretty great guitar work. I found the song So Cold I believe it is, interesting so I bought the Breaking Benjamin CD but Im afraid So Cold is the tip of their iceberg, the rest is good but more typical, heard it before. On the flip side I love my Nora Jones CD's just as much and can actually listen to entirely different sound styles back to back  Back in the early 90's I bought the Smashing Pumpkins tape based on a tip from a young musician, as I had asked him what was new and hot for his generation......within 2-3 weeks I had developed a profound taste for Country the first time in my life  Sorry but that riffless junk from the 90's was nothing but noise, Im glad the boys are chunkin out the riffs again ! B) I cant deal with hardcore because the noisemakers at the mic seem to have some kind of medication or lack thereof problem.

Oh boy, yet another terrorist. Its always better when someone hangs around awhile first before they begin making assumptions and critizing.

How old are you?
Age is much more than a number croc, you wouldnt want to be judged on the merit of that statement. Grown adults with the maturity and emotional outlook of a 5yr old ? Once again wouldnt want to be judged on the merit of that statement, it may make you look like a ....judgemental, uninformed, immature, levying against posters based on their age. Just like calling people that dont share in your beliefs or views morons all the time........does  though the years pass quickly there is still much that happens to change outlooks, ideals and attitudes. You will see this, everyone does.

What is the automaker of your primary car?
At this time 3 Oldsmobiles with a combined milage of 631,000 miles, licenced, insured and drivin. One Dodge Dakota at 134,000 miles, that only see necessary use as a PU is far more expensive that a car.

The cars are not light years ahead, they are the result of steady evolution over the past 50 years. So yes, lets give credit where credit is due.

GM Moves....
Sound interesting and promising. Has GM invested money in this ? That could show up as an accounting loss in 05 ? ;-)

Oohs and Ahs At Delphi's Circus
croc you are the moron. There is no justification for a bankrupt company to give any money to anyone for anything. Bankrupt means you have no money. Did either of you two morons read and absorb the artical ? That is insane compensation for even a successfull operation let alone one that has debt. Im not surprised you two were the first to jump up and say bias/spin  All it does is state the compensation package and show the absurdity of it. Running a company is cake, until you get it all f'd up by playing little games. Great for personal gains, detrimental for the company you work for. Only a moron would have problems comprehending this  perhaps Toyota has employeed the good officers and Delphi and GM had to scrap the bottom of the barrel ? Just to que you two up, no where in here did it state that any of these compensation packages, withheld, would be enough to cure the problem, its just simply showing how great it is to be an exec in the midst of crushing America. That is after all what ya'll are gunning for....no ? Boy your all gonna be pissed when its your turn to profit from selling off America and theirs nothing left to sell
