  1. Never been. Didn't even know it existed. Might have to go someday. Not really just around the corner, but not too far. Saw a few worth saving in those pics!
  2. If Mothertruck is worth 18k when I'm done, I'll be ecstatic!
  3. Sure would. Even if I can't have one.
  4. Apparently, not all of them have been crushed. And, for one to be at Woodward it almost has to carry a Pontiac VIN. By law, all of the Holden- VINned examples would have to have been shipped back or crushed by now.
  5. Thinking about it a bit more, the timing was just about right for any of these that were here to have been Pontiac VINned. They were likely destined for the CTF fleet and for duty as press cars. So they just might be fully legal to own and drive. Not that I have any shot - but it is interesting to think about.
  6. These would be a very grey area. Were all of the federal tests complete? Does the car have a VIN? Does it have a Pontiac VIN, or a Holden VIN? Lots of unknowns. If any of these ever went to auction, I'd be out of luck anyway - no way I could compete with the well-heeled collectors.
  7. Probably not due to liability issues - unless it goes to auction with a salvage title like some GM showcars did not long ago.

  9. They could at least let me drive one of them for a while - before they crush it.
  10. That is certainly tempting.
  11. It ought to go to my freakin' driveway!
  12. The Buick wheels look good on it too.
  13. Wow! This is some role-reversal, Balthy makes fun of it for being big while I champion its cause. Yeah, pretty rare and kinda cool - very clean look for an Olds.
  14. Could be. But this car should be saved - the rest of it is pretty solid. This is the last year of pre-converter dual exhaust, and the second to last year for a RWD Olds convertible. I'm thinking that it is a relatively easy project that would make a nice classic cruiser. The price sure can't be beat on a running convertible.
  15. I don't have plans for anything but a stock hood without stripes, but I might modify the induction under the hood.

  17. Blue and white are a good combo, one I'd go with if I were doing two-tone. Not really a fan of the clearance lights, but I won't be removing them from Mothertruck.
  18. I'd like to see a closeup of some of that. The marker lights are interesting, it seems that he chromed the headlight buckets at least partially, and deleted the roof marker lights.
  19. Some interesting detailing on that blue and white truck.
  20. Those big hips on duallys often get bruised - they just stick out too far (sort of like trailer mirrors). I wouldn't worry too much about the overall condition of a dually because the big rear fenders have some road rash.
  21. I miss my Duramax...
  22. Good topic! Even the old ROPOS gets in on this act. I have an area where I dump debris out of sight on the property (all ROPOS hauled), and from time to time the pile gets out of bounds. So, I just spin the rusty old beast around and use the snowplow to push back the mound of debris (in 4WD, of course). Every week, it hauls around the mowing equipment and serves as a giant wheelbarrow for prunings and other debris. I use it almost every day.
  23. That's alot of truck for the money! A dually, and a bunch of miles, but still... Too bad it is a 2WD.
  24. My pleasure. Thought of you the moment I saw it.

Agreed. A brick can only be so good looking.
