Buick Lucerne: my review of my test drive
Yes, but the integration with most of GMs radio and HVACs into the dash need a lot of work. I love the look of it, but I agree, it isn't very Buick. Other than the waterfall grille and the logo, there's little that I find Buick-esque.

Buick Lucerne: my review of my test drive
I love the Lucerne, I really do... however, I really want GM to just change a few minor things to make this car extremely competitive. It drives me nuts. Realize these are all things that have been said in the past, but I reiterate them as they infuriate me that GM could let them just slip through the cracks: Telescopic steering wheel--uh, hello? Your base LaCrosse has it as an option. HID/Bi-Xenon lights - I'm not a fan of these on the road as I find them blinding at night, but in a car at this price range... you need them as an option. GM is trying to attract a different crowd, but how can they do that if some of the technology the "different crowd" would want is not offered? Tranny - Not going to beat a dead horse. Yes, it's an AWESOME tranny and is super-reliable; I'm just thinking of the competitive side. Needs 1 or 2 more gears. We'll get that in `07 (I hope) Not to mention it would make the fuel economy more competitive. Nav - Okay, I understand GM is going to offer Nav and isn't because of some technological advance in their nav systems, but couldn't they put in the older nav first now while we wait? Gotta say it, 3800 - Not against the 3800... great engine, low emissions, ultra-super-duper mega reliable, BUT, not flashy. Not modern. Not what the "targeted audience" is looking for. Either a new base engine is needed (and I know they kept it around to not abandon the blue-haired crowd), or an optional mid-power engine (a la 3.6L), is needed. Northstar: perfect! :) Again, I LOVE the Lucerne. I think it's an AWESOME car. I think it is an incredible step for Buick and a major hit. I just want to see this car succeed enormously, and I don't want anyone to pick on it, like the few comments I've seen in reviews (which Thank God, have been 99% positive) I'd buy this car in a second if it was in my price range. I am floored at all of the great things you get with a CXL V6 like auto dimming mirrors, leather, and rainsense standard!

Absolutely gorgeous... just absolutely gorgeous!

More Lucerne Models?
The last gen Riviera would have been an AWESOME LaCrosse... I mean, similar, just better imo. G-platform is fine, it's the W that is outdated.

The Stalk
My 1992 Century has an "off" position for the cruise control... that's entirely the same as a cancel control if you ask me. You don't want the cruise control anymore, shut it off by switching it to off, or tap your brakes.

Buick owner fights off carjacker
Another one?! I say if one more story like this surfaces, GM should make a lame commercial about it L  L

Kermy's Park Avenue
That's actually not bad. I like shades of green on a car, whether it be a dark bold forest green or a light/faded silvery green. I just don't like, "In your face Kermit green"

Lacrosse super at shows?
Well, I would hope to see the 6-speed auto in there because it's debuting next year, so they better get them in ALL Buicks and the DTS, and then have one in say the Impala/Monte Carlo, Aura (which we know it'll have), Grand Prix, Malibu and G6 (which will make them more competitive)

Trinacriabob review of rental LaCrosse test drive
I am SO touched you remembered to comment on the illumination!! LOL Thanks for the commentary on the LaCrosse... maybe you'll get a CXS one weekend and let us know if you liked it any better. :)

LaCrosse with portholes
That is such an awesome episode! And Buickguy, I don't know if they're getting them for 2007, but I imagine there'd be some sort of upgrade package or ventiport coming standard when they refresh the vehicle and add the "Super" packaging for 2008.

The Stalk
I agree and also have the top one, I don't really know what the complaints are, because if you just remember the buttons, you don't have to look. I remember them from using them a couple of times and it's all second nature. Push in the side to turn on the Cruise control. Tap the little button right to advance in 1mph increments, or push the left side to slow down 1mph increments. Shutting the cruise means just sliding the button to the left til it clicks, or tapping your brakes. Up for right turns, down for left. Windshield washers are easy because the tab sticks out--just push it in. Wipers, how much simpler can you get... first click is the slidable intermittent wipers, next click low, next click high. What's the huge confusion? I might enjoy having another stalk to separate wipers from cruise control, but how many stalks are we going to have in a car? Not to mention I have a stalk for the tilt steering, and another one for my gear selector. It's all a matter of just getting used to the device. Once you're used to it, there's really no hassle at all.

GXP Solstice 260HP
From many articles I've read, GM has done marvels with virtually eliminating torque steer even under heavy power... I recall reading the Impala SS with 303hp, showed little torque steer.

Toyota said so.

GXP Solstice 260HP
Wow... that is going to be so hot! I wonder what other kinds of little treats the GXP will get :) Not that this isn't the best treat of all!

Christmas Trees!
Okay, whose family tried to convert them to heterosexuality? C'mon, don't be shy... raise your hands... *raises hand* Yeah. Christmas just isn't the same anymore  As for Christmas being superficial... it's only to those who make it so. A lot of us celebrate it for the actual reason we have a holiday, unlike a school district on the North Shore of Long Island that shall remain nameless that shuts 3 days earlier than other schools because so many of the wealthy families there make it their opportune time to travel.

Oh dear God. Although still not as bad as the bright pink Navigator I saw last year.

Isn't it illegal?
I wouldn't say a miserable life, but man, things like this piss me off. Politics in the work place piss me off. Students who blatently lie to me piss me off. And worst yet, men who lie to me are gone immediately.

Lucerne's Grille
What is the Sharkskin color like? Is it simply a shade of gray? I really want to see the Slatestone Metallic color of the LaCrosse because I'm hoping it has a hint of blue mixed in with the gray--if it does, that'd be the color I'd get :)

Lucerne's Grille
Okay, we knew this. I just wish I could see it in person for once! What model did you see? CXL or CXS? Colors?

Isn't it illegal?
Okay, I was just watching a Toyota commercial advertising their sedans when they announced their "270hp Avalon". Are they allowed to "round up"? I mean, at first their ratings went from 280 to 268 when the new system came out, and their commercials kept preaching 280 rather than changing the voiceover for the correct numbers. But now, blatently announcing "270" when it's still a couple of hp off--isn't that illegal? I'm not going to complain over 2hp--no one would notice the difference, but it's more the principal of the matter. How can you try to be the world's biggest auto maker, and lie? Sorry, I know that sounds like a stupid question because this world is FULL of lies, but dishonesty in any fashion really really pisses me off.
