OMG that had me laughing... I made a similar joke and my students didn't understand it. That made me sad.

Happy birthday, Paolino
Wow, that's an incredible find and timing Bob! Yes, we have Trader Joe's out here (I'm eating my yogurt now as I type), but oddly enough, ONLY on the North Shore... you'll never find a Trader Joe's on the South Shore. Guess they don't want to slum it? There, I said it! LOL Thanks for the messages guys, it cheered me up--it's been a REALLY bad day for me, but I'm home now and I'm not going to get out from under the covers until I have to go out at 7:30 to my friends' house. So, without going into too many details, anyone know how to get scratches out of your windshield when you're driving through a monsoon with 65mph gusts of wind and your passenger wiper blade just FLIES off the arm? I was driving East. Guess it wanted to go North... Yeah. It's been a great day. If you'll excuse me, I have to go wring out my clothes in the sink, write a check to pay a ticket I got for being 30 seconds late to my car, and call the university up and explain they cashed my check 2 weeks ago and paid my balance in full, stop emailing me saying my account is past due. It has to get better, right? LOL

2011 Buick Regal CXL: $26,995
Well, I'll give you that the Lucerne has a good deal more torque than the 2.4L Regal, but not that much more over the LaCrosse.. we're talking 255hp/217lb-ft vs. 227hp/237lb-ft... As for the car, I recall reading a review a while back saying that the Regal was substantially quieter than the Insignia and that they were amazed at how effective the QuietTuning was.

Rattles are driving me crazy
My friends' 05 Impala rattles like a mofo. Then again, she lives in Brooklyn so you can't really drive 5 feet without hitting a pothole.

Virgil's Soda
Interesting... I just IMed this to my friend. He's recently found out he's gluten-intolerant and I'm always looking for new things he can have. We both love root beer.

Automaker Website Load Times 2 Jan 2010
THANK YOU! For a couple of years I thought I would be the only one to notice that GM's sites in general were SLOW to load.

Ever been tempted to commit auto-theft?
I was thinking more of something like keying this on the homophobic pr!ck's car: "Hey Steve, was in the area and thought I'd say hi!"

Ever been tempted to commit auto-theft?
There are a few choice ex-coworkers who'd be recipients of some nice messages on their cars.

Ever been tempted to commit auto-theft?
Auto-theft, no. Other things? Yup.

Rainsense on Cruze?
I think it's possible to be here for America... the Astra had them... not to mention the gauges are in mph, so I'm assuming that's the American version.

How many of us
Me, none. But at least once a year I hear about the 50's Bonneville my dad had that he bought as his first car. I think it was his favorite of any car to this day.

LA Times story on Toyota Recalls
It's amazing how deceptive the company has been. I have been trying to tell my friends for years, but since it was not in print, they just brush it off. SO many of my friends own Toyotas/Lexuses. I threw the article on my Facebook page, but what sickens me is I can guarantee some of them when it comes time to purchase another car will go right for Toyota.

It's odd that no one mentioned Queer As Folk turning people gay

List anything good that has happened to you lately...
It's unfortunate that I honestly can't respond to your request. I'd have to dig back over a year to do that.

Cheers and Gears Drives: 2010 Chevrolet Equinox LTZ V6 FWD
Great writeup Olds... I look forward to other ones in the future. For my own pleasure (and to anyone else who shares this), any chance you could take pics of the cars at night so we could see interior illumination? I happen to be a big critic about how a car is illuminated at night, and with the introduction of LED lights and now piping in a car, well, lighting can just be very expressive and really bring about a classy experience.

'Golden Girls' Causes Homosexuality Claims Religious Writer
I didn't watch the Golden Girls until well after I came out... and I came out when I was 21. I think I started the Golden Girls around age of 25. Now, I watch them every day for a good smile before I go to sleep. Some of the things Sofia says and gestures literally are a picture of my grandmother when she was alive. Although the actress' accent is horrendous

Nah... all of my friends are straight. I only have gay friends online (it just worked out that way since I came out after making very close friends in college). My friends, their friends, husbands, boyfriends, fiancees, etc, no one has a problem with me being gay... except my parents.
