  1. True enough, but I think the core market is going to be existing Camaro fans and owners, and to a lesser extent Mustang owners, and people considering the Mustang. I'm both a Mustang fan/owner and a BMW fan/owner (yes, I'm an anomaly--I like domestics and imports, old school and modern) and am definitely in the target demographic for a G35 or 3-series. But I'd definitely take a look at a Camaro, esp. if it was available in a convertible (the Mustang GT convertible is high on my 'next fun car' list), as I still like the old-school muscle cars. I've priced out the Mustang GT a couple times, the way I want one would be $36k which isn't bad for a V8, IMHO. As long as the price is comparable to the Mustang, I'd consider a Camaro.. The current Mustang GT is a good value for the money...what I'd really like to see from a Mustang (or Camaro) are more options (sunroof for the coupe, nav system, etc) and nicer fit/finish for the interior..
  2. I bet the base model will have the 3.5 or 3.9 with a 4-speed auto...
  3. Yeah, I'd say go for the 3.6 also...but knowing GM, the bean counters will push for the 3.5 or 3.9 I bet..
  4. Maybe...the Camry will probably be #1 again...though the Corolla will probably be in the top 10.
  5. 2006 Toyota Corolla MSRP Price Range $14,105 - $17,880 Invoice Price Range $13,047 - $16,179 Sounds pretty cheap to me..
  6. I don't think people buy a Corolla for styling..it's like a washer or dryer..they buy it on reputation, value and it's Consumer Reports ratings.. that's all...they aren't car enthusiasts, they just want cheap, reliable transportation.
  7. Must be a matinee at a cheap theater... it's $7 here for a matinee or $9 for evening (for first run films). Plus $1 for the Fandango 'convenience fee' to buy online.
  8. I was thinking 6.0 since that is what the '06 GTO had and the Corvette has...
  9. 3.9 V6, 5.3 V8, 6.0 V8 maybe?
  10. Over the past 20 years, I went: primary vehicle: used Ford->used Ford->used Chevy->used Ford->new Jeep-> ? secondary vehicle(s): new Ford->used BMW (but kept the Ford) Not sure what's next..
  11. I like Mercedes, but prefer BMW for the more sporty nature and the availability of a manual transmission in several models...likewise, I prefer Infiniti over Lexus..
  12. If you aren't first, your'e last
  13. I have a bad, bad habit of drink-and-dial when I've been boozing it up with my cubies, either in a pub or the ubiquitious summer Saturday afternoon suburban backyard bbqs... call my friends and coworkers from my cell and leave the message 'Rob druk'. Eventually, my phone gets taken away..
  14. I'm looking forward to the AMT 1:25th scale model kit.. it's supposed to be out this month.
  15. That's what the press releases indicate. ('Official 2007 Model Year Updates' posted elsewhere in the forums).
  16. It was pretty funny..stupid, but funny.
  17. Since the '07 releases have been already announced, it sounds like from the rumour mill that there are only going to be 3 new GM models for '08 from what I've seen so far--Malibu, CTS, and Enclave.. (maybe 4 if the Opel Astra coming for Saturn to replace the Ion is in MY '08, though it's not a new car--new to the US, but the current European model, I believe)? Besides refreshes/upgrades of existing models, anything else on the horizon for the '08 MY? (Maybe the Camaro? It will be interesting to see if it will be a MY '08 release...)
  18. Robert: Bright Fame, English (first name) Wade: from the water or ocean, English (first middle name) Jacob: Supplanter, Hebrew (second middle name) Sturgill: (third middle name..can't find anything on this old family name) Hall : hill, or from the manor, English (last name)
  19. Ugly paint job, ugly wheels....Foose's stuff is so formulaic. I like the '71 Challenger styling a lot though, second only to the '70 as far as my favorites (I've always liked the Challenger over the 'Cuda, though the Cudas were pretty nice also).
  20. This comment reminds me of a Tercel a buddy of mine had in college..must have been around a '92--had only one mirror...but the strangest thing is that the driver had an airbag and conventional 3-pt seat belt, but the passenger side had a motorized seatbelt (like some Fords had around '89-90). He bought it new to replace a battered, green '71 Montego.
  21. Shhhh..you are close...don't let out the secret. Rumour has it that a new JV between Toyota and GM will result in a special Prius Z06 (Prius with Corvette Z06 drivetrain) and a Corvette Green Line (Corvette with Prius drivetrain).
  22. Because an unpainted black grille is obviously cheaper to make than a painted grille for the W/T...for the last 15 years or so the base W/Ts have had black grilles and bumpers. Long ago base work trucks from Chevy (and others) had the grilles and bumpers painted white..
  23. Surprising...being the local rag, I would think the Detroit News would be biased towards the domestics and sugar-coat everything about them, if anything...
  24. The bed rear fenders look pretty much the same as the regular trucks to me..looks like there are two types of mirrors available (I wonder if the vertical ones extend out like Ford's SD mirrors for towing). that first photo with all the trucks reminds me of '60s-70s truck magazine ads, with the lineup parked in a field... neat.
  25. Good to see..I'm using an FM adapter for my iPod now and this would be a big improvement..
