Well, I've read that Chevy was developing a Zeta-based Impala for the US with semi-retro styling based on the '67 Impala.. that I assume will be the US Chevy Zeta..and it's been said the new Holden Statesman will be a Buick for the US...

I love that movie.. first saw it about 25 years ago as a kid... ever since seeing that, I've had a thing for white '70 Challengers... saw it and Duel (with a red '70 Valiant) at about the same time, both classic car chase films.. I've built up a little collection of my favorite car-chase/racing films on DVD.. Vanishing Point, Duel (VHS, haven't seen it offered on DVD), Ronin, Transporter, Bullitt, LeMans, The French Connection, The Seven Ups, To Live and Die in LA, The Driver, Blues Brothers.. I'll have to get Grand Prix..it's now out on DVD.

Nope..from downtown to downtown, it's about 70 miles.. from northern Co Springs to the south Denver suburbs, it's about 50... lots of commuters... (I used to do it, 58 miles each way).

Arizona also has a lot of Mormons also...esp. in the East Valley suburbs of Phoenix... I noticed Colorado Springs ranked #1 in Money's best 'big' cities (over 300k population)...it's a pretty place with a great climate, a lot to do outdoors (I lived there 5 years--moved 50 miles north to Denver when the high-tech job market tanked), but it always felt more like a big small town than a big city to me...and the biggest problem is that it is overrun with evangelical Christians (Focus on the Family is based there) and Republicans. Scary place politically, but I still have a lot of friends there. Money's Best Big Cities

Yes, they missed their target by many years..if they had wanted the Marauder to have a market impact, it should have been out in '95 or '96 at the latest when the Impala SS was still out...

They seem pretty mediocre to me.. smallish interior for the size, outdated BOF construction, cheap interior plastic, etc...

Ok, I suppose I haven't closed the trunk lately on a Camry...I just don't see how you can close ANY trunk or hatch without touching the paint (unless there is a handle) (and I don't mean the Cadillac style electronic pull-down--you still have have to close it most of the way). I know I'm always getting fingerprints on the decklid of my BMW..

I guess GM NA has spent too many years designing FWD sedans for Avis...

I could see the Holden VE SS V as a Pontiac sports sedan...it has proper RWD proportions, a taught, clean shape, without the huge overhangs of Pontiac's FWD sedans and a minimum of bodykit gorp. Add Pontiac badges, a pointed nose with split grill, and you have a Pontiac sports sedan..(hopefully with a name better than "G8)". A car like this would give Pontiac credibility and viability. PONTIAC NEEDS THIS CAR NOW

IMHO, the one aspect that has been a design flaw in the W's forever (and a problem with so many '80s-'90s FWDers) is the huge front overhang and oh-so-short front wheel-to-front door distance..it makes them look oddly proportioned in profile and in a front 3/4 view..

I can't really judge the quality of interior plastics considering it's a photo taken through a closed window of a prototype...wait until you see it in person and can see and feel the trim..

Hmm...every car I've ever had requires touching the outside decklid's paint to close..(except for my Jeep, which has a handle). that seems to be a trivial complaint... as far as the rental car comment, I've always viewed GM's FWD models (except for K/G-bodies) as being best for rental only, IMHO..

Whatever.. those rental car engines all seem the same to me..

Fort Collins is ok, a decent college town, but I like Boulder better.. though I prefer living here in Denver..I like the big city amenities, yet it's a short drive to the mountains. (though there is no ocean, something I do miss from when I lived in Florida as a teenager). I used to live in Ann Arbor, Mi..it was a great place to go to college, but the lousy weather and Michigan economy doesn't attract me now.. As far as top 10 in size big cities go, I've lived in Chicago and Phoenix, and liked and disliked certain aspects of each.

Heh-heh..maybe. I just tend to like women my own age or a few years older...(I'm 36, my g/f is 38)...

The easiest answer is to assume they will be around for the near future and leave it at that.. what's it matter, anyway? GM has other OHV V6s..(3.1 and 3.9).

Exactly..the point I was making was about wieght...go on a diet if you want to take off 30 lbs (which I what I'm working on taking off now..)

I like her looks..attractive in a way that is not the typical generic/manufactured Hollywood look.. and I tend like women that are past 35.. And she's not an airhead, and she is from Ohio (I still dig Ohio girls, though I haven't lived there in over a decade)..

If they are going to try and attract younger buyers, they need hip-hop in the ads--Jay-Z, 50 Cent, or something...

I've never tried a Costco..isn't a lot of their merchandise in bulk, though? Not practical for me, buying for 1-2 people at most. Pretty much all my regular shopping I do at a local SuperTarget, though lately more groceries from Whole Foods (my g/f is really getting into organic stuff when we cook)..

Lots of goodies there...I love that '61 LeSabre..probably my favorite year of '60s Buicks...and that Grand Prix was sweet also.

That's the one I was thinking of..the Citation concept. The greenhouse of the EV-1 reminds me of this concept.

Sounds plausible...I assume the other W's will also be around through '09 as well (Impala and Monte Carlo)..

Albertsons has closed all their stores here in the Denver area.. it seems most of the big grocery chains here do the 'club card' thing... King Soopers (Kroger-owned) and Safeway are the dominant chains here, though I suspect Target and Wal-Mart (there are at least a 1/2 dozen Super Targets and Super Wal-Marts in the metro area) get a lot of grocery business...

Sounds like the curvy early '80s Chevy concept with sliding side doors..I don't recall the name, but saw it in person at Disney World at Epcot Center in the early '80s.
