Vaccine discussion
I’ve been happy with the Michelin Defenders on my JGC. Almost 5 years and 35k on them. I wasn’t aware of a polio booster, will have to look into that. My childhood vaccinations were probably 50 years ago or more.

Sounds you had a great vacation. I’ve been to Hawaii a couple of times, only to Oahu. Definitely want to go back and explore the other islands. I thought I saw a couple threads on here about the Charger EV concept a few days ago. I like it a lot, have watched a few videos about and read stuff on all the usual sites. Looking forward to seeing the production model.

^ I like the CTS coupe and the Le Sabre...nice to see an 80s B-body in good shape. Don't see many around here that aren't worn out and rusty.

Dodge News: The 2023 Dodge Hornet Flies Out Of The Hive
It definitely looks like they changed very little behind the front fascia. I guess it gives them something in the compact CUV market, after the demise of the ancient Journey. At least w/ the Dart, while it was on a Fiat/Alfa platform, there wasn't a Fiat or Alfa model in the US market with the same panels. The Alfa Tonale is going to be sold in the US. Kind of like how back in the 70s-90s Dodge and Plymouth had many cloned models with little brand differentiation...

Chrysler News: Chrysler Rebirth, Airflow Graphite to lead the way to the future!
I'm in no rush to go to an EV. Maybe in 15 years when I'm thinking about retirement.

Chrysler News: Chrysler Rebirth, Airflow Graphite to lead the way to the future!
Trucks and SUVs are where the market and profits are... and they have very good SUVs--these engines will be going in the Grand Cherokee, Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer (and maybe the next gen Durango?), presumably the Ram also. I could see myself shopping for a WL GC w/ the TT6 in a few years. I am definitely going to miss the Charger and Challenger, but sadly the market for muscle cars is very small and shrinking, I believe...:(

I still see a lot of Chargers in use by the Ohio Highway Patrol, but I could see those being replaced by SUVs. What isn't clear to me is how the EV muscle car that they keep hinting at will be named/branded. Will it be a 2dr or a 4dr?

Chrysler News: Chrysler Rebirth, Airflow Graphite to lead the way to the future!
Every article I read is different. From what I've read, the V8 is going away, and the trucks and SUVs are getting a TT inline 6 to replace it. The Challenger and Charger are going away completely, replaced by an EV muscle car. Or something like that.

Sad to hear the Challenger and Charger going away.. so they are giving up on the police car market also (unless they are going to push the Durango police package as a replacement for the Charger?). I'll miss the Challenger, was one of the last 2dr RWD coupes available w/ a V8 and manual, in this world of styleless generic white appliances, it really stood out.. It will be interesting to see how walking away from their most iconic models will go for Dodge. I can't imagine the EV replacement will get nearly as many sales.

My understanding, at least in the near term, is that the inline TT6 is replacing the V8s. The 3.6 Pentastar will remain....

Definitely. I definitely noticed the higher belt lines, smaller side and rear windows, much thicker pillars, larger side mirrors when I went from an ‘00 JGC to a ‘14 JGC a few years ago.

I’ve had no issues w/ the 3.6 in my JGC. I’m intrigued by the upcoming 3.6 turbo also.

Paid $3.45/gal for regular today, only had a $66 fill up...my lowest in a while. Back in June when I was driving to the farm 4-5 times a week, it was $90-100 every 2-3 days..

Had a nice getaway today to Kelley's Island in Lake Erie, took the ferry over and went around to a couple wineries, had a good lunch, sat on the beach for a while...overcast but only 76, nice weather for August. Saw a clean blue '67 Chevelle convertible on the island, along w/ a silver late model Jag F-Type R convertible that was also beside me on the ferry...don't see those very often. On the freeway on the way out there saw a bright yellow C8 coupe and a very clean black 80s-90s Jeep Cherokee 4dr (XJ)...always liked the boxy compact Cherokee, nice to see one so clean. At a gas station, saw this custom '51 Mercury--chatted briefly w/ the driver who appeared to be in his early 20s.

Yeah, got those here also...Giant Eagle w/ Get Go..I have two of those about a mile each from my house...I've shopped at them occasionally for groceries but never bought gas. I now mostly use Whole Foods via Amazon and Heinen's (local chain) via Instacart..

Last year out in the middle of nowhere I stopped at a small gas station that had the slowest pump I’d ever encountered. Took a looong time to pump 20 gallons…

It's sharp, I like the black w/ copper trim. The profile and general shape reminds me a bit of the DS5. The squircle steering wheel seems like an unintentional retro reference back to the 1960 Plymouth.

I like the lights..looks like a nice upgrade. I wouldn't mind having an early '80s Eldo convertible for Lake Erie beach trips in the summer..

What Are You Listening To?
Went to a concert last night of the Cleveland Orchestra at Blossom Music Center amphitheater...2nd row seats, I love classical music and esp. in a semi-outdoors setting.. I love Blossom--beautiful venue in a hilly, wooded setting only 25 min from home.. Beethoven's 4th and 5th symphonies. Going to see Vivaldi at the end of the month at the same place. It's fun going to the orchestra outside--can dress casually--shorts and a Hawaiian shirt, instead of dressed up like I usually do when going to Severance Hall in downtown Cleveland.

Who knows, it looks like the render came from Stellantis (says Source: Jeep). Not some rando on the internet as is common w/ future vehicles. And the rendering matches these photos of an actual vehicle testing in Europe. https://cleantechnica.com/2022/08/06/all-new-electric-jeep-caught-undisguised-in-europe/

Saw a minty dark red late 80s Firebird w/ t-tops..wasn't a Formula or Trans Am, but a clean base trim. Also saw a sharp bright red w/ black top early 90s Olds Cutlass Supreme convertible.
