Hummer EV (and Silverado EV) are much bigger and truckular...so they have a lot more space underneath for the dirty bits. The Lyriq isn't a high riding 4x4, so it has to use space for the electric motor(s), power brake system, HVAC, radiator, etc under the hood...

Also saw yesterday a really clean '88-89 Chevy C1500 regular cab long bed pickup, red w/ white sections down the sides...red interior. Pretty sure on the year as those were the years they had the tiny rectangular headlights.. Just like this one...beautiful truck...always liked that generation.

I do need to get my 2nd Pfizer booster... a couple weeks ago I was sick and wondered if it might have been the COVID. Had a sore throat, cough, fever, felt really run down for 2-3 days...or just a sinus infection. It came at the end of my week off. I had been to a couple of concerts the previous weekend (mostly masked) and working in the filth and muck of the mud farm, and driving a lot and not getting enough sleep. Two more weeks to go and the horror of mud farming should be over.

Saw a very clean mid 70s Mercury Grand Marquis 2dr in dark blue w/ a pumpkin colored 1/2 vinyl top..I've seen '77 Cougars in that color combo, first time I've seen a GM in that color scheme. Saw a very clean and shiny black '82 Mustang GT yesterday. On Friday saw a couple oldies on the interstate...a gray early 50s Olds 4dr sedan and a black late 30s Chevy 2dr coupe street rod.

The door window line resembles the regular Equinox more than the Blazer, IMO.

I would think that would have been a 6 speed? A 4spd auto would have been awfully outdated in 2017..that 2.4 was built in Tonawanda, NY according to Wikipedia...drove past an exit for Tonowanda on I-90 last weekend...IIRC, the '68 Camaro SS 396 my brother used to have had a Tonawanda decal on a valve cover. Perfect June weather yesterday, saw a variety of nice oldies out and about ...a gorgeous medium blue w/ black stripes '70 1/2 Camaro Z/28 with the short rear spoiler; a lime frost '65 Mustang convertible--top down, mint; a white w/ dark red interior early 80s Riviera convertible, top down, mint; a bright red '67 Camaro SS; and a very clean white '63 Impala 2dr.

Heard a similar tale at work... the Marketing Director at my company has a '15 Model S w/ 100k, bought a new Model Y as a family hauler last month.. over Memorial Day weekend while on vacation in Myrtle Beach it bricked itself. Had to rent a minivan to get back home.

Speaking of forgotten Fords, I've seen a couple Five Hundreds and a Montego lately...I can't recall when I last saw one of the modern Montegos (later renamed Sable, IIRC). I saw a clean Taurus X wagon on I-90 the other day.

Spring has been so rainy here in NE Ohio...the upside is all the rain produces green...lush green grass, trees, bushes. My yard looks great and the local parks (metro, county, state, and national) are beautifully green now. The downside is mud, mud, and more mud. Did I mention mud? I do love a climate w/ 4 distinct seasons as much as I truly, truly, deeply loathe deserts--may I never have to spend time in AZ or NV or any of those fecal dusty shitholes again... A couple pics from the National Park 10 min from my house..

I think of Seattle as a green and rainy tech hub, known for '90s grunge (I love Pearl Jam and Soundgarden, not much into Nirvana), home of Starbucks, historical home of Boeing.. I like it there..if I ever move back West, it's near the top of my list.

I think those tracks would all be on my 1987 playlist... as would many songs from 1994 through 2002, those were the years I drove the car the most...all over Michigan, Ohio and then in 1997 to Colorado... I haven't tried the CD player yet (I put a Sony single disc player in it in 1997 after the tape deck died). I have to get a new 'Michigan Engineering' decal for the rear window (had that there from grad school) and a Colorado logo plate for the front, since Ohio is now a 1 plate state... but first things first..need to get it checked out mechanically, get new tires, etc. I did find receipts and a window sticker for an oil change in 2018.
