What is the fastest Pontiac?
Yes there are several members in our Trans Am club who despise any corporate motor in Pontiacs. These guys are living in the past.

Opel Zafira hydogen fuel cell car in San Jose
I agree with you on the EV1. There were a number of techie guys out here in silicon valley trying to buy their leased EV1s from GM when GM cancelled the whole effort and started crushing the EV1s after their lease returns. Thre were several cars in the book that I did not agree with in regards to them being crap cars. BTW the number 1 crap car was the Mustang II from 1974 to 1977??? I did own two of the cars mentioned, the Vega and the Hyndai Excel.

But I have seen Ferarris with flying butresses as part of the folding top and they did not have the wrinkles. Maybe I was not looking hard enough.

Funny, you mention the EV-1 because it was the subject of our conversation with the GM engineer that was on hand. Speaking of the EV-1, it was also one of the cars in a book I just saw at the bookstore called CRAPCARS as well as a few other GM cars like the Vega, Fiero, Eldorado ETC, and a few others I don't recall at the moment. It was very hilarious to see some of the cars in it. Heer is a link on the book. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/158234638...283155&v=glance

Opel Zafira hydogen fuel cell car in San Jose
As I said earlier, GM needs to get the word out on this stuff, so it desn't seem like they are sitting around while the imports get all the PR on alternative vehicles.

Opel Zafira hydogen fuel cell car in San Jose
Yes, it was available for a test as well late in the afternoon, but since I ride Amtrak to and from work, I had a train to catch and could not test drive the vehicle. I would have loved trying it out, but I suppose it would have had long lines.

Bad stretch jobs
I was thinking a C5 vette but someone beat me to it. But when I saw the pic of the stretched 911, that replaced the C5 vette. What are some of these companies thinking...what's next... a stretched Solstice!!! Hey, there is an idea...let's do a copping competition for a stretched Solstice...hehe

I suppose you are right. This may be the opening salvo in the hydrogen fuel PR war.

2006 Aston Martin V8 Vantage
I was watching Overhaulin the other day where Foose was redoing a NAVY SEAL's 50 Ford when Adam Corolla shows up in a brand new Aston Martin and wanted the Foose magic applied to it. It would be intersesting to see what Foose could do with it, but I must admit it seems difficult to improve on what the designers have done. On the other hand I also wonder what Foose could do with my 93 Trans Am.

Opel Zafira hydogen fuel cell car in San Jose
Are these test vehicles for the public or a vehicle the public can buy on a mass scale? I wonder what kind of money they want for them and where the infrastructure it to fuel them. The Honda that was there was different from this one if I remember correctly.

Opel Zafira hydogen fuel cell car in San Jose
Last week in San Jose, California there was an alternative fuel cars display which was represented by GM, Nissan, Honda and Ford(at least in the spot where I was). GM was displaying a blue Opel Zafira hydrogen fuel cell technology. When I spoke with Mike the GM Engineer of some sort about the car and the technolgy GM was displaying, I asked him why GM was not doing a better job at promoting their efforts in alternative fuel technolgy. I mentioned the GM hybrid pick up trucks, the buses they are testing in cities, etc but the public is unaware of these efforts because of GM's poor PR. I mentioned how everyone believes Toyota is "green" despite the fact that they sell gas guzzlers but they get away with it, meanwhile GM is getting hammered. What was his response? Well, "Toyota is doing a great job with the Hybrids because they are bring hybrid technolgy to the public and creating a demand for it, which is the bridge between gas cars and hydrogen fuel cell cars". I was a little miffed at this politically correct response and told him GM needs to stop apologizing and go on the offensive and be the first of the manufactures to come out with an acceptable hydrogen fuell cell car for the public and beat Toyota for once. In parting I expressed I hoped that might be a reality and he said "it will be". Time will tell.

Japan Mum After US Lawmakers Blast Its Trade Pract
I was originally born in Quebec, Canada. I only buy GM products except for my recent loss in convincing my wife not to buy the Lexus. I told her the next purchase is again my choice and it will be american product, not an import. It is high time the US government adds a little protection to our important industries. Eventually we will have to compete with the Chinese and with out an industry, we will be toast if all we can export are service industry jobs.

Road and Track: ZO6 VS Viper
I would pocket the difference...err. take it and get the Solstice while I am at it. Drive the Solstice for the commute and go eat Ferarris for the weekend fun. :)

Honda chief rules out V-8 engine, for now
Siegen, out of curiosity, what is your ride? Don't get me wrong I do respect imports that are properly tuned and built even if they are civics, integras, as long as the outside mods are kept to a minimum and not all junked up with all sorts of body kits, 3 foot spoilers, neon lights, etc. Hell there is a guy in our Trans Am club that has neon lights under the car that change colors, neon flamed interior seats making his car look ridiculous if you know what I mean.

Maybe not, but talk to any number of dumb ricers who hang out at my Starbucks, but that is what they always say when comparing domestics against thier superior front drive "performance" shit boxes. Give me a break!

That just goes to show you how uneducated and unaware the masses are about GM building aluminum V8s. The import crowd automatically thinks everything about GM is old and low tech.

Opel Theta ? Antara GTC !!!! *Merged Topic*
To me it looks more like the Nissan Murano/infinity FX45. But I love the way it looks and I hope it makes it over as is. If so GM is on it's way back in the styling department as long as they do not water down anything.
