Like the Aura, it is far from being a ground breaking design. I like it, though, and would be perfectly happy to live with such a design.

Is the DTS-L debut announcment the answer to your doubt re the SLS being built in Lansing?

I thought the Isuzu engine was to be rated at 125 hp DIN. Are you saying it is above the 1.9 litre engine's 150 hp DIN?

I'd rather see that as well, but I alsom remember evok posting he didn't know if the SLS could be built in Lansing. Perhaps the DTS-L is the answer to his doubts...

The Commodore isn't much different from a a G6 size-wise, is it? Maybe a US built Zeta can fill both G6/G8 shoes (think V6 and V8 versions) after the NG G6...About offering the 3-series sized car, I say go for it! I know some people (inlcuding myself) that would love to see a RWD Cadillac BLS sharing an architecture with such a car. And a RWD MINI competitor would be nice too EDIT: I meant a NA built Zeta, not US

That's the smart thing to do: move to where the profits are and use some of the money earned in emerging markets to restructure unprofitable operations, i.e. US/Europe.

Good point. It might squeeze Pontiac and Buick further at those prices... Unless Pontiac an Buick say "to Hell with volume" and aim straight for niche markets both styling- and performance-wise (which I don't believe they will, at least in the short-to-medium term).

I think we as enthusiasts tend to analyse too much into these ULS rumours. Cadillac and GM need to take care of the core cars first (as it seems they're doing), and then venture into other things. But damn it, now I feel compelled to throw the question out there: What exactly does everybody read into what a ULS should be? A 7-Series/S-class competitor? If so, then the current STS should have been that car, at least in terms of content/dimensions/packaging. It's no surprise Cadillac doesn't have the pricing power that allow is to sell at MSRPs close to the industry's top - yet - so it would make sense to align the lineup with the Germans (which are percieved to be the top), both dimensionally and technologically and let quality/dynamics and the improved perception that comes along raise the brand's pricing power over time.

Because by using the Hydrogen face (actually Torrent-with-Chevy-badge face) people would be reminded of the nonsense the Torrent is.

Being larger, the lwb wouldn't suffer from the "too-close-to-the-CTS" issue. Re the interior, I like it: that dashboard leather is very nice! Yep, they finally got that figured out.
