Any news on ultra V8? In which car will be put, will it have FI,etc.

yup..i really didn't look at the picture very good because i was in hurry but it seems it is regular v6 engine.

it seems that this isn't a v series..it looks like normal v6 series.

Well if next cts-v is going against m5, amg 63 etc then 450+ or even 500 hp will not be enough..

And how about 550 HP? Is it a safe bet?

Is there any chance that new cts-v will have supercharged V8 DOHC (ultra or northstar) engine?

What is the differences between lsa engine an ls9 engine? Is it a different block or?

LSA? is that engine based on ls3 or?...does it has a supercharger.

From gathered information this new DOHC v8 will be new engine (not upgraded northstar) with same head design as new V6 with DI. Displacement range capability from 4.6 l to about 5.5 l ( or even 6 l according to some information).

What do you guys think,is there going to be CTS coupe V?

Hm..we all know that the new V8 (ultra or whatever the name is) is being developed...and power for that engine will be probably 360 + if not even higher..so next cadillac which will be powered by that engine will have to be either rwd or awd..so if sts is gone then DTS will have to move on rwd to be able to handle that power. Or stop production of dts and sts takes over .

so is this car coming to U.S and Europe or?

As somebody said here(and other forums)..new engine should be lighter and smaller...you can't look engine just through engine hp and torque.

Then it could come with n.g DOHC v8 engine ..i think it should be ready by then. I presume there will be at least one model between v and 3.6 l v6...if 3.6 will have over 300 hp then v8 model (not v model) should at least have 350-360 hp.

Or just make V12 ...well we all know that next DOHC engine (except v6 with DI) will be V8 (ultra or Northstar 2)..when that engine is made they could further develop v12. Of course this engine won't be put in cts. When n.g cts-v is supposed to come out?

imagine LS engine with twin cam:D ..but i don't think we will see that engine in cts-v...if the next engine incts v will have supercharger and won't be a ultra v8 then is probably some sort of detune ls9..i don't think that ls9 will have twin cam in block or even a DI.

well xv8 was engine with twin cam in block and this ultra V8 is supposed to be engine with double overhead cams (DOHC) so i don't think that they will use xv8 design. But i've read something about twin cam in block and new LS engines..there was even talk about 3 valve head.

i've read that ultra v8 is completely new engine.

The question is what is the next cts v series engine going to be? Ultra V8 with supercharger, or maybe some LS engine?. And is the next gen. STS-V going to have supercharged v8 ultra or maybe N.A. engine with bigger displacement.

Is it true that head design is almost identical to new v6 with DI and displacement can be upgraded to about 5.5 l?
