GM's Lansing Plants Turn It Around
Great read. A good friend of mine is also a team leader and he said pretty much the same. Morale and pride in the quality is the highest he has ever seen in the plants in his 20 plus years!! Even the smallest little detail is scrutinised by the teams having the control to stop opperations to ensure everything is to the highest possible quality. LETS ROCK AND ROLL BOYS

World Car Fans shows the '08 'Bu?
I think you nailed it! GM is utilising their global platform to it's advantage.I bet we are in for some FANTASTIC changes at the General these coming years.

Spring Hill - Not dead yet
The Ridgeline is a glorified car with a really big trunk without a lid and a high stance. Thats it! The Av IS a truck. two totally different vehicles all together. imo. I see very few Hondalanches on the road. (and they are all silver for some reason)There are Chevys all over the place (an avalanche of them if you will)

GM halts sales of Saturn Outlook, GMC Acadia
My apologies to everyone here at C&G for my tantrum. I get a little defensive about GM bashing (which was not happening here) and mainly when it is about my stomping grounds(delta resident). I hope yo can accept this . I'm sorry guys.

GM halts sales of Saturn Outlook, GMC Acadia
Its not an exhaust rattle an engine mount is collecting water(which can freeze and cause noise and vibration)http://blogs.cars.com/kickingtires/2..._outlook_.html A minor problem that is already being addressed. Is every F#@%ing GM fan site going south with the bashing and negitive crap?! Please read more before condeming GM. They called is as soon as they discovered the problem and rectified it and everyone is all"GM sucks" nand "GM blew it again" What are they, psychic? Christ guys , give them a chance. They arent sitting on it!

Choppin' Competition #30 - (Pontiac Vibe) Results!
Apperantly you are new to these "photo chop" contests. The object IS to take an exsisting car and changing it to what you want to fit the contest. It's alot of fun! :AH-HA_wink:

Solstice Hardtop Conversion
I'm getting a Mazda feel on the Sky from the back end.Not so much on the Pontiac. Kinda gives it a faux-nomad concept look.(probably their insparation)

New Astra: Refined Design
The details sound great but why so many engine options? Isn't 11 kind of overkill?

GM Minivan Plans Panned
Word is Chevy gets a v8 suv tb replacement along with the v6 version! I think a v8 minivan would be MAJOR overkill in that segment. There is another plant in delta planned down the road but not for awhile. I agree totally with both of you(regfootball and hogansheros) We are going to loose a ton of possible market share without atleased a stopgap product to replace the Upblander!. They would have been better off keeping the Venture and running with it and not wasting capitol on a badly revised product. My venture is 10 fold nicer than the Uplander imo. They could have invested the money into a all new minivan (or flexuv) and been ahead of the game. Just my thoughts. A slightly wider and extended version of the Opel would be an excellent option. (and yes my chop of a chop is less than quality, Speed over quality this time)

agreed!!! Opel mini on an extended platform.

Ive heard the new chevy lambda is a TB replacement with a beefed up tranny/ drivetrain and suspension package. Perhaps the PM rendering IS fairly accurate.(just not a minivan) Maybe the chevy version will fit nicely between TB and Uplander as a replacement. I still think the opel van will enter the segment.

There is absolutely NO WAY they will abandon this segment! However thats not to say that we wont rename the segment to fit a more broad spectrum of customers. just a thought.

Lansing /Delta is capable of multiple vehicles at one time. I've spoke to several people in the plant that say up to 12 or more models with the modular assembly enabling different suspentions and drivetrains.
