Ghost Rider
Well, I'm still patiently waiting on Transformers, and Fantastic 4, and Spidey 3. Now if the proposed live-action GI Joe movie gets rolling (been on the drawing boards for the past ten years), I'll have to add another to the list.

It's official. Chrysler's up for auction...NOT?
Al right, I think I'll buy a share in this one. I happen to like the minivans, and the Dodge trucks with the Cummins (mainly for the Cummins, not exactly for the truck itself), and I like Jeep. Heck, even my wife wants a Magnum! I'm not hoping that Chrysler up and dies, but at the same time, I can't honesly say that I hope that GM buys Chrysler, Jeep, and Dodge in their entireity. If GM were in a better financial situation with a deal worked out with the unions to help with the healthcare issues and other legacy costs of being where they are, then I'd be all for buying the Chrysler group and selling CJD right there next to all of GM's products. I just can't see it being feasible at this current time.

Direct Injection Connection
by the way, I've run my 3.8L with and without its cover on the Impala, along with the 2.2 DOHC engine in the wife's cobalt without the cover. I can't tell a difference in engine sound, and I doubt that most people really would if the underhood area was equipped with proper sound insulation.

4T60E vs 4T65E
Yeah, that's probably the 4T40 transmission, the 4T65E or the 4t60E transmisisons would be an upgrade for you.

What skin do you use?
Chevy, sometimes the Olds theme, depends on how I feel that day.

Hmm, missing schmissing! Just a little bailing wire and bubble gum will fix that one! :AH-HA_wink:

The Saga Continues!
booyah, possibly a problem with the fuel pressure regulator allowing too much fuel to go back to the tank, which would cause the injectors to not fire at full psi, causing massive power loss.

that's good to hear.

doing the transmission mount isn't that hard, if you've got a jack and can put the car up in the air with a jack under the trans at the same time. The motor mounts are about the same story, you'll have to jack the engine up to yank the mount out.

The Saga Continues!
You know, if the shop that you installed the aftermarket cylinder says that the one that's on there is a dud, why not get another. I know, as a parts guy, unforunately we get bad parts in straight out of the box. That's the breaks of having 100s of parts come in on a daily basis.

Project Camino!
Camino, just a few tricks with the modulator valve. If you want her to shift a little harder, turn the screw inside the vacuum tube clockwise a little. If you want her to shift softer, spin it counterclockwise. Good luck with it brother!

Normally you're not going to find a 3-1/2" plus exhaust system on anything shorter than a diesel powered application. If I remember right the stock exhaust on a Silverado is 2-1/4 inches both before and after the cat, so if you go to 3, you shouldn't have any trouble. And really and truly as long as you're not changing exhaust diameter in front of the cat, you're not going to be hurting backpressure since most of your backpressure is made in front of the cat. Like everyone has said, the biggest difference between a 2-1/2 and a 3 inch system is going to be noise. Actually you may be able to buy an aftercat system for cheaper than having someone build you on at an exhaust shop. I'd do some digging around online and see what you could come up with on an after cat system.

It sounds like the intake is leaking, and if you're loosing coolant at such a high rate, you're going to probably end up getting a blown head gasket before too long. If I were you, I'd tell your dad that you don't care about doing an intake job during the winter is ideal or not and for him to get off his tail and do it before you're rideless. Actually changning the intake manifold on a 3.1 isn't that hard of a job to do. Remove the intake hose, yank the throttle body off, pull the upper intake, pull the valve cover gaskets, then pull the lower intake. Clean everything up, installation is the reverse of removal. Takes about 6.2 hours to do according to Chilton Labor Guide and Mitchell 1, so you can realistically do it in about 4 hours. I've done three on 2 different 3.1s and a 3.4, took me about 6 and a half hours the first time, the last one I did on a 2001 Lumina took about 4 hours for me to do. And thankfully if you get the gasket from Fel-Pro, or Victor Rienz, the gasket design has been changed to slow down the tendency for the intake to blow on those cars with the trouble-prone engines.

4T60E vs 4T65E
Really the 4T60E and 4T65E are the same family of transmissions. the 4T65E is a heavier duty version, just like there was a Turbo 400 and a Turbo 475 transmission, they were bascially the same transmission, one was just heavier duty than the other. If it were me, I'd go with the 4T65E

Ugggh - good grief!
Dude, I'm really sorry to hear that. I hope that you can get it fixed without too much trouble. Too bad that the ice chunk thing would normally be defined as an "act of God".

Ghost Rider
Hey y'all. I just got out of the theater after seeing Ghost Rider. I have to say that the movie was definitely worth the money I laid down for it. Followed the comic series quite well and really was cast pretty well. I can't really go into the whole story of the Ghost Rider without giving away parts of the movie. All I have to say is that its worth it and really good. I enjoyed the world out of it (then again, that might have also been becuase it was just ME that went to the theater, no family attached). There were also the previews for Fantastic 4 II: Rise of the Silver Surfer, and Spidey 3, both of which looked pretty good indeed. Anyway, has anyone else seen it, wanna see it, or saw it and disagree with me?
