Can a 2002 or newer Ecotec 2.2L be put into a pre-Ecotec Cav/Sunfire????
Revolution. the DOHC 2.2L Ecotec engines in the newer vehicles could probably fit, the engine itself isn't much bigger than the 2.2L OHV engine that is in your Sunfire. I don't know where you heard that the original 2.2 was shoddy, but the information is wrong. They're pretty good engines, a little underpowered maybe, but very reliable. The radio thing, I honestly dunno on that one.

GM May Sell Allison Transmission
The only problem that I see with GM getting rid of Allison is that Allison might very well STOP selling the 1000 series transmission to GM, which would sound crazy, BUT more idiotic things could happen. I'd say that they keep the division. Allison is the best MD and HD transmission on the market as far as the automatic transmissions are concerned. I know that ZF and BW make some all right ones, but the 6-speed Allison 1000 takes the cake and wipes the floor with them. Most people who buy the 2500 and 3500 GM trucks are buying them with the Duramax and the Allison simpy because of the increadible towing capacity as compared to Ford and Dodge. Overall, I just see this as a bad idea.

Toyota recalling 500,000 + Tundras and Sequoias
That IS a lot of trucks. I'm honestly wondering where in the world all these trucks are? There can't be that many of them sold. And the ball joint problem is more or less EXACTLY the same problem that DCX had a couple of years ago, with the exception of the wheel falling off like with the Dodges.

Guess what hit me now?
Fly....that's just freaking insane.

Lowering blocks
Balth, you're right, I only glanced at the shot.

Guns?
I think you'll be really happy with the XD, they're great weapons, I'm thinking of buying the .45-cal myself once I get some funds squared away.

Yay! I got a code!
It should be screwed into the throttle body, or it might just be bolted up on the upper intake just aft of the throttle plate.

Lowering blocks
Asside from reshackling it you could try, and I do mean try, putting the block between teh bottom of the axle and the plate, I've seen some people do it that way, so you'd be bringing the axle up under the truck some, thereby lowering it.

Gas prices?
2.03 here in Bama this morning.

Simple Question: Yes or No?
I voted no for about the same reasons as everyone else. Its sporty yes, and it does well as a performance compact, but its not a true sports car, or a pony car for that matter. I've always seen muscle cars as the big cars, the Chevelles, the Impalas, the Chargers, etc; meanwhile, the pony cars were the Camaros and Mustangs, AMXs, and even to an extent the 'cuda in my mind was one. A true sportscar to me is a strictly two door vehicle (which I guess lumps in the Solstice and Sky), that can only seat two people and is purpose built for performance.

Lowering blocks
I'm with Balth, if its a traditional leaf spring set up on your truck, you should be able to block it without changing the shackles, now if you wanted to actually LOWER the truck, not just level it, yeah you'd have to reshackle it.

Tonawanda Gets $300 Million To Build GM's Newest Engine
Well, looks like we're getting a N* replacement. I wouldn't mind seeing this in the Cadillac lineup without a doubt, and perhaps the engine will have multiple displacement choices that way you can make several different displacement engines for more than just Cadillac.

Desktops!
I've seen 'em in person. I've put my hands on one, even put my hand on one at this past year's air show. Its a conglomeration of parts: F/A-18 engines, F-15 landing gear and hydrualics, Gold-lined cockpit glass from the F-16, too many planes smashed together to get an unaerodynamic wonder. I'll give you #12, its an F-14D Super Tomcat breaking through the sound barrier.

Desktops!
I like all those, except for the one of the F-117A Nighthawk. Its a good tactical bomber, but I don't like the fact that it has four flight control computers and if you lose one of them, that's right, just ONE, the whole damn plane stops flying.

Little towns or quiet hideaways you escape to?
Close: My father-in-law's 22-ish acres about 40 miles south of here. Far: My aunt and uncles house in Beaufort, S.C. (if you've ever been to Parris Island, or know where it is, you know where Beaufort is), fairly reasonable house right on the water, good fishing, good swimming, good boating, just all around good place to spend those lazy summer days (favorite family summer vacation spot).

What's your computer's specs?
Yeah, mine does what I need it to do, my brother-in-law (studying computer engineering, builds comps on the side) keeps trying to tell me to upgrade everything on there, but my question to him is why if it does what I want it to do still?

Desktops!
Those are all correct. To be more specific, its an AC-130U (the H model looks almos the same, but the U is the only model with the 105mm Howitzer stuck out of the side), F-4E, P-47D, P-51D, P-38G, A-10A (they're actually up to the C model on the 'hog now, wow), F-15A, F-15E, F-15C, and a C-130J. That's at least all the ones you named, there of course are still the ones you left blank.

Desktops!
You were right, I miscounted.

New Member here, awesome site!
Welcome, hope you find things here to your liking. I started off as just a part time visitor, catching up on my beloved GM news, then it got more interesting, then I started drawing a few things here and there for the site, and now I'm normally here in the lounge or in the tech section going through problems.

ROADTRIP GRANDE MAXIMUS!
If the funds are available, and the family is in good health, we might come out. Tulsa sounds like a good roadtrip.

Steve is Approaching Week 2 Without His Breeze!
You know, instead of waiting for the parts to come from the dealership's stock, you could ask them to buy it from a jobber (ie: CarQuest, AutoZone, Advance, etc) to get the job rolling a little faster. Believe it or not, CarQuest (I work for 'em, so I should know), gets their fuel pumps from the same supplier as DCX.

Desktops!
Well, here are my various ones, I apologize for the size. They're all pretty well aviation related in some way... All right, now quiz time, someone name me each of those aircraft!
