  1. I wouldn't, but not because of risk or anything like that. I just don't like the feeling of falling. I go on roller coasters like the Mind Eraser at Darien, and I grit my teeth and bear the feeling of the first drop, which I hate. Then all the loops and barrel rolls which follow I love. Needless to say I don't like old-fashioned coasters that don't have loops. $65 for a fancy dinner happens... I've paid that much once or twice.
  2. Nice. Enjoy your project. Not sure if you've ever seen the "CarPool" I posted here that my engineering department made.... 81 Malibu sedan made into a portable hot tub. Entire interior was plastic sealed, doors welded shut. Throttle / brake hooked up to a boat throttle mounted on driver door. Removable steering wheel. Heater block heated the water. It was so cool to have your own hot tub to watch football games from!
  3. I'd go with a dark colour. My mother had a '93 Trans Am in a colour I've always liked, "British Racing Green". Or dark blue or burgundy too.
  4. Sorry to hear that. Must be hard when it's a dog. I've hit a deer and a chicken, but those don't make you feel quite as bad.
  5. If you're looking at Fusion/Milan, why not look at the Mazda 6? They're old enough now that you might find some good used ones.
  6. I guess if I could have more than one car... It's just something I can't even fathom right now.
  7. You think that's thick? Vibe:
  8. I saw them in Toronto when they opened for Queens of the Stone Age and Nine Inch Nails. Awesome show - and I'm not even that big of a Nails fan.
  9. Meh... Glad you like it, but it's not for me. I like the red surround better. Apparently I'm not with 'the group' on that one, since so many cars are going for black or silver surrounds. Am I the only one who thinks the Altima and Mazda 5 taillights are ugly?
  10. I appreciate what Honda was trying to do with that car - I mean EVERYTHING was engineered for efficiency, including those wheel skirts. However, I think the 2-passenger thing is a bit of a problem. Then again, it doesn't keep many people from buying a Solstice, apparently. I would never buy a 2-passenger car, personally. 4 people in my car is rare, but 3 seems to happen a lot for some reason. Guess I should get a McLaren F1. Seriously though, I think this is one of the few cars I would look at and say, "Should have gotten a Prius instead".
  11. Top Gear used "Death From Above 1979". Sweeet band from Toronto. Couldn't believe I heard it in there, had to go back and check. Then I found a clip of Top Gear testing the Exige and there was almost a whole song in there - can't believe this bit of obscure Canadian music is on TV. That said, if you like bass - Death From Above is a bassist and a drummer who sings. Period. Think the White Stripes, with balls. Check out "Romantic Rights", "Black History Month", and "Blood on our Hands".
  12. I had much the same reaction when I rolled my Sunfire - after the initial adrenaline rush from having the crap scared out of me, I was surprisingly calm. Nobody actually saw my accident, but I still had shocked people come around afterwards. First question this woman asked who was walking by - "Where's the driver?". When I told her the driver was me she was quite visibly shocked.
  13. booooring How can they even compare that to the 300?
  14. cod
  15. France --- wild guess: next post will be rude ---
  16. Yeah, it would make total sense if it was some revolutionary hard-top, but it's just a convertible...
  17. Those prices are in Canadian dollars. Which reminds me of something else. Many Canadians are starting to complain about car prices here. When I bought my Cobalt last summer, our dollar was sitting around 75c US. The Cobalt's Canadian MSRP and American MSRP translated when using that exchange rate. Now that our dollar hovers around 90c US, the prices don't work anymore. We're paying too much for our cars.
  18. It's still a good way of competing with the Civic though - If I'm not mistaken, the tC is already cheaper than a Civic, and this will widen the price gap for those interested in mods. Wasn't Dodge talking about doing something like this with the Razor when they were considering production?
  19. He looks like Sean William Scott.
  20. Prices from gmcanada.com Base 9-3, manual, convertible: $54,900 Base 9-3, manual, sedan: #34,900 I know convertibles command a premium, but does this seem a little out of hand to anyone else???
  21. Damn Nissan alphanumerics... that's the car I meant!!
  22. Can I ask why you think it's a four door? Not disagreeing, just looking for your evidence.
  23. nissan 200 sx?
  24. Back in the day 98 was by far the biggest poster, like 3 times what everyone else said. He posted so many news articles from the web...
