As minimal as possible of laws that restrict what you can and cannot do. Gov't maintains very powerful army/navy/airforce etc. but only uses them in dire times. Elimination of most social programs. Lower taxes Encouragement for people to donate to charities (and not high class ones, there shall be a list maintained of charities that count for tax benefits... and it will have to be ran efficiently). This would allow private organizations to fulfill many of the social programs that the government formerly sponsored. So uh, basically Libertarian party.

If you want to start a third party movement, do it during times when our political landscape isnt so polarized. Because if you keep doing it during polarized times, you run a far likelier chance that the country will move even further away from your ideals, making your third party ideals that much harder to instill into people as they become used to... well... other things.

Anywho, on a serious note, Obama is getting close to being the opposite of what libertarians stand for. McCain is no where near the ideals that libertarians (myself included) would like, but its a hell of a lot closer than Obama is. Given how close this race is... the final decision is yours.

Hi, Your average 72 year old has a 66% chance of living till 80. Average 72 year olds dont have top notch presidential medical care. I have little doubt that he will live well through his first term. Look at his mom! his MOM was there at the RNC and shes like 96! Obama and friends are making a huge mistake by continiously going after Palin instead of McCain. As Obama and friends pound on Palin, who will sway next to no voters, McCain can go about making his idea of change look better.

Well unfortunately Obama has started up his war machine. I wonder if the Republicans can cast him as wailing on a poor old man? and Mr Satty, McCain was trying to push for a lot of townhouse style meetings between Obama and McCain, that would have easially placed policies on the forefront, but Obama turned it down. Obama also went back on his word to use the campaign fund, which he is now, ironically struggling to meet money demands.

The McCain camp doesn't care if the left likes Palin or not. Every time they attack her, it just solidifies her right wing support. However, she does provide SOME appeal to the middle working class which is always nice. But MOST importantly she lets McCain go around and be a Centrist on issues, to attract the independent vote, which is VERY important. And Obama will be hard pressed to attract the middle vote given his rather, well, socialist agenda. Plus, given that 40% of the population dont even PAY federal taxes (they get it all back in their refund). Obama's plan is nothing more than a glorified handout to the lower classes, since it will be the GOVERNMENT writing them a check in the end (as in they receive more than they paid).

Heh well they DO receive some US aid, and they don't pay the taxes on it.

Well it was implemented for small farmers to ensure that they would receive a fair living off of their crops. However, in this day and age its an old and outdated law that ag lobbyists have successfully kept on the books.

You realize that a lot of farmer subsidies are paid to farmers to NOT grow a certain crop right?

Neo Conservatism is dead. Conservatism is dead. What we have now is some remnants of Neo Conservatism. we need the original Conservatism back. Also, modern Liberalism is nothing more than Socialism. I would much rather have Classic liberalism.
