Croc, while some of the far right may vote mccain anyways, a lot would likely not vote. plus he would not have nearly as much support campaigning etc if he didnt suck up to them a bit. However, if he is elected, and he prooves to be popular, he very well may be able to run for reelection under a moderate or even independent (since im sure a lot of the far right GOP will be less than pleased)!

Whose to say once hes won presidency he wont revert back to his old ways? sure it may piss a lot of his supporters off, but i think he may do it if he truly feels its for the betterment of the country.

Fiscal conservatism would dictate that the government should not spend money on pointless things (now what constitutes a pointless thing is another debate) As a result, the tax rates should be as low as possible and still cover the costs.

Not quite, the billionaire pays a lot larger income tax %. HOWEVER, if most of his income comes from capital gains, its only 15%. But on the same token, most middle/lower/working class people can get capital gains at only 5%. The difference is most people dont actually invest in qualified stocks.

TECHNICALLY being liberal means to extend as much liberty to as many as possible. Hence Libertarians. A true liberal, in the original meaning of the word, serves only to see everyone's liberty as high as possible, which inherently means the government can be no more than just a protector of people (i.e. they run the army, navy, police, etc). And whenever the government acts to overstep these bounds, they deserve to be overthrown as they are now infringing on the liberty of the people they serve. the current meaning of liberals is some aberration of the original meaning, as is conservatives.

Not necessarily, as the old nuke reactors are phased out, then in the LONG RUN there will be less waste produced because the newer reactors can recycle the vast majority of their fuel rods unlike the archaic dinosaurs of reactors that we have now. Plus a lot of the new designs are inherently safer than the older designs. I think the reason McCain is pushing so hard is because this is technology that we KNOW works. France has quite easily demonstrated that nuclear power is clean safe and reliable. So what is the problem with using this as the forefront of alternative energy while we develop other means of power generation?
